Enemies to lovers, Mixed Martial Arts and being forced to train together? “Hooks in” combines all these things in one! I had no idea about MMA and the way this sport works but this book really gives you a nice view without prior knowledge. Ty and Luca both have my heart but I’m especially obsessed with Luca’s personality and character! This man has great humor and with Ty being more on the serious/grumpy side I think they complement each other really well (like the moon and the stars 🥹) The tension and spice in this book is also extremely good 🥵 The heating scenes between Ty and Luca whenever they were “fighting” were my personal favourites 🫣.

I had the great opportunity to read Hooks in before release. I’m so happy because it is about the trope I like most, enemies-to-lovers, and also a sportsromance about MMA Fighting. Ty Roscoe & Luca Mitchel meet each other for a long term at cage fights and don’t like each other, maybe hate is still a better discrimination. They’re rivals and only want to see the other one on the ground. For best, they fight each other hart, win and went home. One day, Ty’s dream will come true, a professional MMA trainer wants him to join his team to get him up to UFC. But big surprise: Luca is also in the team and for worse, both of them had skills, the other one needs, so they have to train together for now. I really liked accompanying them both trough every training session, and to see, how they start to attracted to each other and don’t want to admit it. I really really love the way Luca is with his unicorn tattoo, the curtains in all colours at his apartment, his music taste and all the stickers in his car. All of this doesn’t present the man he wants to be in the cage. If you enjoy reading enemies-to-lovers, you have to read this book! It ends with a HFN without a cliffhanger and book to will be there in late spring 2024 🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊 Ich habe das Glück gehabt, und durfte von Hooks in ein Rezensionsexemplar lesen, darüber habe ich mich sehr gefreut, schließlich behandelt es genau meinen Lieblingstrope, und noch dazu geht es um Sport, genauer gesagt MMA Fighting, und auch wenn ich davon nicht so viel Ahnung hatte und habe, hat das eigentlich nicht gestört. Ty Roscoe und Luca Mitchel Treffen schon seid Ewigkeiten immer wieder in Kämpfen aufeinander und können sich so gar nicht ausstehen. Sie sind Rivalen, und so sehen sie sich auch. Am besten man meidet den anderen, kämpft hart gegen ihn, und geht mit einem Sieg nach Hause… soweit die Wünsche. Dann kommt eines Tages der lang erhoffte Anruf für Ty, er ist von einem professionellen Trainer aufgenommen worden, der ihm und anderen Kämpfern helfen will, den Aufstieg zu schaffen. Doch große Überraschung: auch Luca ist im Team, und ausgerechnet die beiden verfügen über Skills, die dem jeweils anderen helfen besser zu werden, heißt, ab sofort müssen sie miteinander trainieren. Ich habe es sehr gemocht, die beiden durch jedes Training zu begleiten, mitzuerleben wie sie sich langsam immer mehr zueinander hingezogen fühlen, und es doch nicht wahrhaben wollen. Besonders genial fand ich Luca, der mit seinem Einhorntattoo, seinen bunten Vorhängen, seinem Musikgeschmack und Stickern im Auto, ein absolutes Gegenteil von dem verkörpert, was er im Käfig darzustellen versucht. Das Buch endet mit einem HFN ohne Cliffhanger und im späten Frühling erscheint Teil 2, darauf freue ich mich jetzt sehr. Wer auf Enemies-to-Lovers steht, dem würde ich dieses Buch doch sehr ans Herz legen.
