This was a super cute and easy read. There was no extra drama or a stupid third act breakup. Just two best friends who, for the love of god, cannot admit their feelings. Nathan was to die for. He had me giggling and swooning through the entire book. His POV was so entertaining and I loved the rest of his Team. Them doing self care and hyping Nathan up was really fun to read about. What's also great is that the author showed what kind of pressure he is under and I liked the anxiety rep.( I actually think it should've been explored even more) Bree is such a sweet girl. I really felt for her struggles and I liked her backstory a lot. The little girls from her dance studio also added to the story. I feel like Bree is a really fun character and I love that she is a girly-girl and just unabashedly herself. This book had so many funny paragraphs, but also swoon worthy moments. The main characters cared for each other a lot and I loved literally every interaction between them. The book didn't focus on anything but our main characters and still managed to make the side characters lovable. Was it a literary masterpiece? No. But it was a super fun palette cleanser and I really want to read more Sarah Adams books, because I like her writing style a lot

Das Buch war wirklich lustig und die Personen sehr liebenswert. Die Geschichte war ideal, wenn man von ernsten Themen einfach mal Abstand halten will. Ich habe mich gefreut, dass es mal um Football geht, wo ich doch sonst nur Ice Hockey Romance lese. Die Dynamik zwischen Bree & Nathan kann man sich nur herbei sehnen. Wobei, dass vielleicht das einzige war, was mich ein wenig gestört hat: Nathan war einfach viel zu perfekt (was einfach unrealistisch). Im Buch gab es keine großartigen Konflikte oder Problematiken, was es ja auch nicht immer geben muss. Zwar gab es doch schwere Themen, wie Brees Unfall, die wurden aber sanft bis wenig thematisiert, sodass die Leichtigkeit im Buch beibehalten wurde. Das Buch hat mich jetzt nicht nachhaltig geprägt, aber hat mir doch eine schöne Zeit beschert, weswegen es 4 Sterne von mir gibt :)

Die Idee mit dem Cheat Sheet finde ich super. Ich mochte die beiden Protagonisten sehr gerne. Nathan mit seiner beschützerischen Art und Bree mit ihrem sturen Kopf. Das Ballett ist mir etwas zu kurz gekommen aber das liegt vermutlich daran, dass ich selbst eine Ballerina bin 🩰🙈😂 Fake Dating ist eines meiner liebsten Trops, dennoch konnte es mich hier nicht so ganz überzeugen. Der Wechsel von fake zu real ging mir viel zu schnell. Nach nur einem Kuss gestehen sie sich die Gefühle für einander. Wo ist da der ganze Spass des fake dating? Das Buch selbst fand ich wirklich super und sehr amüsant, das Ende konnte mich nur leider nicht so überzeugen. Man kam schnell ins lesen rein und konnte sich alles super vorstellen, die Protagonisten sind einfach wirklich toll ausgearbeitet. Nicht super spannend, aber ein schönes cozy Buch für zwischendurch. Es behandelt wichtige Themen wie Burnout und macht Schluss mit toxischer Männlichkeit

Hatte mir von dem Buch mehr erwartet.. die Ideen im Buch sind an sich super, nur wie sie umgesetzt werden… 🙈 Leider ist die Geschichte ziemlich „Unglaubwürdig“, klar, das ist auch nicht unbedingt der Anspruch an romance-Geschichten, aber es macht in sich geschlossen leider einfach nicht so viel Sinn 😂. Wie die beiden über 6(!!) Jahre beste Freunde sein konnten, (kleiner Spoiler) beide dermaßen ineinander verliebt waren und NICHTS passiert ist, verstehe ich nicht. Auch das die Freunde irgendwie erst nach 6 Jahren was dagegen unternehmen wollen, macht für mich auch nicht so viel Sinn. Pluspunkte gibt es aber definitiv für das Football-Team, die Jungs sind der Knaller 😂 Dylan ist auch einfach klasse 😂🫶 Alles in allem ist die Geschichte ganz okay, aber nichts, was man gelesen haben muss 🫠🙈

Dieses Buch hat alles, was ich mir von einem Liebesroman wünsche: Es ist ein slow burn, es ist mutual pining, es ist fake dating und der Schreibstil ist so gut. Bree und Nathan sind seit der Highschool beste Freunde, die seitdem ineinander verliebt sind und nur eine Zeit lang den Kontakt verloren hatten, als Nathans American-Football-Karriere auf Erfolgskurs war und Brees Ballettkarriere und -träume durch einen Unfall zerstört wurden. Nachdem sie in einer Nacht zu viel getrunken hat, trifft Bree auf der Toilette, als sie versucht einen Fleck aus ihrer Kleidung zu entfernen, unwissentlich auf eine Reporterin, die ihr betrunkenes Gerede aufnimmt und es ins Internet stellt. Daraufhin bietet die Firma, die den Fleckenentferner herstellt, den sie in dem viralen Video verwendet hat, ihr und Nathan einen Werbedeal an. Das Geld ist nicht viel für Nathan, könnte aber viel für Bree ändern, weshalb sie sich bereit erklären, während der Laufzeit des Deals öffentlich als Paar aufzutreten, um für den Fleckenentferner zu werben. Sowohl Nathan als auch Bree würden aus dieser vorgetäuschten Dating-Situation gerne eine echte machen. Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen, wie sie versucht haben, eine Beziehung vorzutäuschen, wie sie sich mehr und mehr darauf eingelassen haben, wie Nathan aktiver versucht hat, sie echt zu machen, und wie Bree Angst hatte, die Freundschaft wegen eines Missverständnisses zu verlieren. Es gibt nur eine Sache, die ich zu lächerlich fand: <spoiler>WARUM WOLLTE NATHAN MIT DEM SEX BIS ZUR HOCHZEIT WARTEN? Weder er noch Bree sind besonders religiös, sie hatten beide schon Sex vor der Ehe, nur nicht miteinander, WARUM HAT DIE AUTORIN IHN DAS SAGEN LASSEN? Nur um sie überstürzt in Vegas heiraten zu lassen? Die Charaktere müssen am Ende der Geschichte nicht unbedingt verheiratet sein, damit wir wissen, dass sie glücklich sind. Ich fand das sehr, sehr albern und ehrlich gesagt auch ein bisschen dumm, was schade ist, weil ich das Buch sonst sehr mochte und ohne das wären es easy 5 Sterne für das Buch geworden.</spoiler>

Mir hat einfach alles an dem Buch gefallen. Ich mochte die Charaktere und die Story. Besonders gut haben mir die Kapitel aus beiden Sichten gefallen und die Spannung die die ganze Zeit vorhanden war. Ich habe mit den beiden Protagonisten mitgefiebert und man konnte sich gut in sie hinein versetzen. Die Geschichte hat sich nicht zu schnell entwickelt aber auch nicht zu langsam. Die Beziehung zwischen Bree und Nathan war so unfassbar süß! Alles in allem war das Buch einfach grandios! Große Weiterempfehlung!!!!!!

Fand das alles zu Beginn eigentlich ganz süß, aber wurde schnell anstrengend. Bin einfach kein Fan von friends to lovers in der Kombination mit fehlender Kommunikation. Redet. Doch. Einfach. Mit. Einander. Umso unerträglicher war es dann, dass das Ende vollkommen übers Ziel hinaus geschossen ist. Wieso muss man da in Romance Büchern immer so eskalieren? Ich fands kitschig, übereilt, unnötig und kam einfach komplett aus dem Nichts.

Das Hörbuch hat mir richtig gut gefallen. Eine süße Geschichte, liebenswerte Haupt- und Nebenfiguren und super witzige Dialoge. Wer die "The Secret Book Club" Reihe liebt, wird dieses Buch mögen. Was mir auch gut gefallen hat : das es mal wieder eine Liebesgeschichte war ohne explizite Spiceszenen. Ein Stern Abzug gab es für das, gefühlt ewige, hin und her, dass man oft bei Friends to Lovers Geschichten hat. Sprecherin/Sprecher beide toll.

Ich habe mich schon lange nicht mehr so gut von einem Hörbuch unterhalten gefühlt. Ich kenne fast alle Bücher von Sarah Adams, mag ihren Schreib-/Erzählstil sehr, aber diese Geschichte ist unter ihren Werken sicher eine der besten. Die Spannung, die in einem "Friends to Lovers"-Szenario entsteht, wird hier voll ausgekostet. Ich habe oft geflucht, wenn sie mal wieder aneinander vorbei geredet haben und gequiekt, wenn es romantisch wurde. FYI: Ich quieke normalerweise nicht. Ich lache normalerweise auch nicht so laut bei einem Hörbuch. Beides ist so ungewöhnlich für mich, dass irgendwann mein Mann wissen wollte, was ich da gerade höre und ich ihm regelmäßig Updates zur Story geben musste. So gut ist ist diese Liebesgeschichte. Allergrößte Empfehlung, wenn man einfach mal was Lustiges und was fürs Herz braucht. ❤️

Bis ca. 80% dachte ich, dass dieses Buch ein 5 Sterne Buch wird. Aber dann hat das Ende irgendwie alles etwas kaputt gemacht. Ich fand es passte einfach nicht zur Story und ich hätte mir dann einfach mehr 🔥 gewünscht. Schade, aber trotzdem insgesamt ein tolles Buch für zwischendurch!

Honestly it’s a no. Alongside the female narrator, this story was just not good. I feel like the female protagonist is 13. Her character and behavior was so unfitting for someone who’s in her late twenties/early thirties. The amount of times she has to mention that they are just BESTfriends yet she is in love with him since forever. But he would never love her, and when he acts at all like he’s interested or it could mean something more, there she goes with the self assurance of how unworthy, unrealistic this would be… - he would *never* love her. Listening to this had me rolling my eyes so damn hard. When he actually tells her to her face that he loves her since forever as well (of course), her first reaction is: Hope hope hope. How stupid do you have to be. Especially when there are multiple times with obvious signs that’s he’s into her! She just made herself believe that he’s not interested. And that’s just lame. I don’t really feel there was any chemistry between them and whenever it got “intimate” it was just awkward to listen to. Hard DNF

I just read a review on this book that essentially captured what I was thinking but wasn’t able to put into words until now (thought this review was hilarious). „The Cheat Sheet“ is a totally fine read, but it is also just that. I have to be honest, I skipped parts of the second half at one point because it dragged. I saw people talking about in on Bookstagram, and since I’m a sports romance/football fan I wanted to give it a go. And at first, I was really hooked. It‘s a sweet story, loved the idea and, c‘mon, you can‘t really go wrong with friends-to-lovers, right? There definitely was a lot of potential, this book just didn‘t go all the way for me. While I couldn‘t so much sympathise with the female mc, I liked Nathan a lot more. He was portrayed as a genuinely nice guy. Both of them have been friends for six years, have parted ways for a while until running into each other again. Secretly, they always had feelings for each other, time just wasn‘t on their side. What irritated me the most was Bree‘s behaviour and constant thinking she is the one put in the friendzone, when she‘s the one doing it all along. I get that she wants to be in charge of her life, I get that she didn‘t want Nathan regularly offering money or paying for things behind her back; he is a popular football player and he cares for her - that’s where he is coming from I think. But at some point it was all a little too much. At one point I was thinking „finally, they‘ve figured it out“, only for them to start questioning their feelings? Maybe that‘s just me, but some things/decisions were simply confusing and unreasonable. So, as I said, after reading about 50% I skipped towards the last third of the book and … yeah, it didn‘t really get better again. It‘s a sweet story, it simply wasn‘t for me. The first half was great, the rest could‘ve been better, which isn‘t to say people who are interested shouldn‘t read it. I think the characters, especially Nathan and his friends, are worth giving it a go.

Ich mochte den Schreibstil eigentlich, nur manchmal war es ein bisschen cringe. Zum Beispiel als sie gesagt hat: "you're goofy" oder so, oder die vielen Male, bei denen Bree gesagt hat wie groß und big Nathan doch sei. Nathans POV war super, die von Bree war ganz oke. Diese Art von Fake Dating war neu, aber ich glaube, dass ich die normale mehr mag. Nämlich die, wo die Charaktere sich erst verlieben. Am Ende ging es für mich ein bisschen zu schnell. All in all, war es ein gutes Buch, aber jetzt nichts so krasses. Ich werde aber aufjedenfall noch weitere Bücher der Autorin lesen.

I am so disappointed. It was so boring! They loved each other throughout the whole book but were determined that their love was unrequited by the other. This book could have been over in 10 pages if they just talked to eachother. This was just an entire book based on miscommunication. So annoying. And then when he said he wanted to wait until marriage just for them to get married after a week. What was that?

This was surprisingly good. For a story that could have turned out very shallow, this was all I wanted and more - just the right amount of depth and silliness that had me grinning at the pages. It's certainly not the deepest story, but it's really not so bad, either - you kind of want to bang your head at the wall because of the amount of denial, but at the same time, it tugs at a corner of my heart. Classic miscommunication, but done well! I was delighted to discover that it was told from two POVs, so that it's not just one character being stupid - when you make it two, it suddenly becomes endearing. What has happened to me.

Really enjoyed this book and will read more by the author. Felt their feelings were made slightly too obvious for the other person not to realise their childhood best friend was in love with them but that was really overshadowed by how much I enjoyed everything else. The bromance, the focus on men being friends and being just as soft and dependent on their friends as women was amazing. The focus on trauma and coping with it, on varieties of family dynamic and mens mental health.. just all of it was so good!! But not in a sad and pitying way but in a way that made me feel like it was normal, everyone faces issues and it's not a bad thing or anything to be ashamed about. A lovely and light hearted book that just makes you feel light and happy, although it highlights some difficult topics. BUT IT MAKES THEM NORMAL AND I LOVE IT. Great book.

Extremely cringey! The FMC is the embodiment of a pick me girl. The book was boring and there was basically no smut. I knew it was shit before reading, but throughout the book I hoped it would redeem itself somehow. It didn’t! The whole „I want to wait until we‘re married“ situation almost made me barf. The fact that they get married after one week of dating is just crazy and weird. Also… a surprise wedding??? I’ll rather plan my own wedding & would literally hate this so much. How is this romantic?! The sex scene was a new level of cringe! Waaay to metaphorical. BTW why are these characters in their 30s acting like children? The whole she is so small and childish trope just makes him seem like a pedophile. I only recommend this book if you want to make fun of it. There‘s no other reason to pick this one up.

Ich finde Adams Schreibstil hat sich seit diesem Buch echt weiter entwickelt, dennoch gefiel er mir hier schon ganz gut. Die Protagonisten haben leider immer wieder in meinen unliebsten Trope reingespielt (Miscommunication)... weshalb ich das Buch leider doch nicht so genießen konnte. Heißt aber nicht, dass ich nicht auch viel gelächelt und gelacht habe! Ein guter kurzer Read für den Strand oder das Meer, bei dem man sein Herz nicht ganz verliert.
