This was confusing. Half of the time I didn't really get the issue Yelena was facing and I didn't understand her reactions. All in all it felt like too many problems and not the correct way to sort them for the reader. I was also not really sure why she pushed all her loved ones away. It was not explained either. Also, she was so calm about Valeks death?? The very clean writing style shows it's demise here. You couldn't really get the depth of her emotions. I still think if the smut and love scenes would be explored it but more, it would give the book more depth.
