Ich kanns nicht leugnen, die Reihe hat mich so richtig angefixt. Der Schreibstil ist wundervoll, die Charaktere sind Gold und die Geschichte rund um Rune und was alles so passiert, ist unheimlich spannend! Ich bin verliebt, hoho <3 Auch Band drei war wieder eine richtig tolle Installation in der „The Tarot Sequence“ Reihe und ich kann es gar nicht abwarten, Band vier in den Händen halten zu dürfen. Irgendwie gewinnen alle Charaktere auch immer mehr an tiefe und wachsen mir so sehr ans Herz, ich kann und will sie nicht gehen lassen. (Und ja, Band drei hat mir das Herz gebrochen!!!!! – Wehe, das wird nicht wieder in Ordnung gebracht!) Ich habe die Geschichte rund um den „Hourglass Throne“ geliebt. Es war super kreativ und spannend. Auch finde ich es toll, dass nicht nur unsere offensichtlichen Hauptcharaktere eine Rolle spielen, sondern auch so viele Nebencharaktere starke und wichtige Aufgaben haben. (Ich denke da an die ganzen Kids) Es ist einfach sehr gelungen, wie K.D. Edwards die ganzen Charaktere handhabt und ihnen allen so viel Leben und Charakter einhaucht. Ich bin sehr gespannt, was in den nächsten Bänden alles noch geschehen wird und welche Geheimnisse sich alle langsam lüften werden <3

Tbh i didn't really vibe with it & would definitely rate it as the weakest book in the trilogy. Also i didn't even know this was the end until i went looking for book 4 🧍🏼‍♀️ (OKAY THAT'S ON ME!!) The biggest issue i have with the trilogy as a whole is the love story. It's half-arsed and feels out of place. This book is so much about choosing your family & growing together, about friendship & bonds, you'd have thought the romance would be just as intriguing but nope, Addam is as interesting as a wet blanket & i was annoyed any time he showed up. I was living for the Rune/Brand relationship whatever form or shape, THAT was the good stuff. So yeah, the book didn't quite hit it for me, the banter was a bit too much, too forced and i found it hard to not lose interest.

(just a few first thoughts, longer review to follow) What an amazing sequel! The Hourglass Throne continues what started in The Last Sun and The Hanged Man: breathless action combined with deep, meaningful emotions. The found family grows ever closer. Secrets are revealed. I laughed, I cried, I loved every single scene.
