Long story short: I hated part 1, didn't care about part 2 and - starting with part 3 - really connected with the characters and actually liked it. Could have been done with 300 pages or less, I suppose.
4.5 stars here. I literally was held in a trance by the book. Such a good writer and I think for me the ending was poetic justice. I loved how the writer developed the character of Count Rostov and it was easy to like him and his antics. Even the side characters were interesting and it made me connect with the book more. 10/10 would recommend. Waiting to jump into his other works as well.
