FBI agent Shane returns to his beach home after being injured at work to find his former lover Norton who had simply left two years ago without a word. Tension rises between them. Very emotionally gripping for such a short novella. I really felt the anger, hurt, and pain from opening up and being vulnerable while knowing this could cause even more pain. Very touching.
