Oh my god I’m flashed! This book has a plot twist after another. It’s just amazing! Leigh Bardugo knows how to write a story exciting till the last page! The 6 crows are fantastic. So different people make such a great, stunning, imperfectly perfect group. You do not want to put this book out of hand! Big 5 Stars !

Two months for this cliffhanger??? Seriously I really liked that book but because it took me so long I actually can't piece it together completely. But I'm definitely gonna read the next part because I really liked the crew and I wanna know if Jesper and Wyland become a thing. Thinking about it now the book was basically Oceans 13 set in a fantasy world and I just want to see how they're gonna pull off that next job.

although i am very late to the party i feel like i have to voice my opinion on this book. it only took me a couple of chapters to realize it would definitely get a 5 star rating because i fell in love with almost immediately after i’d opened it. i’m usually not the biggest fan of books written in 3rd person but this time i didn’t even realize it was written in 3rd person until i was like halfway through because it’s was just so good. i fell in love with the style of writing but more importantly with the characters. there is just something about the way they came to life in my head that left me amazed. i don’t even remember the last time i read a book this captivating, one that made me never wanna put it back down. i was a bit scared that it wouldn’t life up to all the hype and praises, but i was positively surprised. so if you’re currently on here reading reviews, trying to decide wether this book is for you or not, just read it!!! i didn’t think it was the kind of book i’d like and look at me now haha

It is a great and exhilarating book. The Heist of Course is the most Fun and exiting Part, but also the relations between the cru is great! To slowly get the background of Situations and their full Storys is a perfect Mix with the criminal force the Story has. The flashbacks are at the most perfect Times and I really Love Leigh Bardugos writing Style. I can only say It is perfection, all though I did not give it the full five Stars because it took a bit long to really get to the Story though there Was Action from the very beginning. Happy and exiting read in Kerch and the Barrel to everyone who will get to Know the Crows next! 🗡🖤🃏🧊💰🎲

Though confusing at first I got into the story pretty quick. The characters really shine in this book making it intriguing to find out more of the backstory. The story itself is a classic heist and interesting to follow. Only downside to me personally is the age of the characters but I just imagined them to all be 20-30 in my head anyways. All in all a really good book that I will probably read again before checking out the second one!

Ich hatte mich auf einen spannenden zwischhenread vorbereitet aber Kaz und die Crew haben mit gepackt und sind mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen. Die Schreibweise war erstmal kompliziert weil ich nicht genau wusste wann was passiert da einige Zeitsprünge passieren, nach etwa einem drittel ist es aber zu verstehen. Ich liebe die Charaktere und dass man aus jeder Sicht lesen kann finde ich klasse. Es gibt mehrere kleine plötchen die mich immer auf trapp gehalten haben. Die Entwicklung von Matthias, uhm i am sorry what?💁🏼‍♀️ wie geil ist das bitte? Ich bin begeistert. Jeder Charakter hat seine Geschichte ziele und story, trotzdem ist es überschaubar und wirklich super zu lesen🥰 für alle fantasy Einsteiger eine Empfehlung wert!

So, I was actively pushing this review and trying not to write it. Why? Cause I could not find anything good to write. At first, I figured "let it rest" and think calmly about it, but by this point I don't want to invest too much time into this review. 1. I did not finish this book. I just couldn't! I was either annoyed or bored by the book so much so that I just stopped at one point and never picked it back up again. Regrets? Absolutely not. 2. The world building? Might have been interesting, but the execution completely failed. This is supposed to be the first book, right? You get thrown in and the explanations are lacklustre at best. Most of the time I was confused and not interested enough to figure stuff out or anticipate the proper explanations. 3. The characters? Unbelievable bad. So unbelievable. It was basically just "lots of trauma and bad stuff happened in the past and now they are all badass soulless, amoral, grey people" (at the age of 17). Teenagers "ruling" the underworld? yeah sure... Teenagers tricking and plotting against adults and the adults just being in awe of their awesomeness? def sure... Kids who are better assassins and underground-bosses than any adult twice their age with more experience... believably? Adults coming to these teenagers to "safe the day" with this big job? ah yes everyday occurrence... None of the characters were relatable. None of them were original or individualistic... None were sympatico or just plain likeable.... 4. The romance? Barf. literal barf... Anyone with half a bit of self-respect and psychological sound reasoning should not find this "sexy/ romantic/in any way good". It was the typical girl falls in love with asshole bad boy who refuses emotion, but she still believes in... I don't even know... It was so forced and mostly unnecessary for the storyline. 5.The writing style? Not bad but also not glorious. Good and easy but that should be the norm or expectation for most books. Point of advice: When you try using another language for the names and cities etc. collect more information and make it more "natural". It sounded mostly forced. 6. The story? Could have been interesting. A dark tale, a heist, an underground city and its own rule.... Could have been lots of things. But basically, was to predictable and boring... My sister recommended watching the TV series, cause one of the couples was really to her liking. So I might take a look at that... But will certainly not read/ listen to any of the books for now.

Der found family trope ist eines meiner liebsten und in diesem Buch so gut umgesetzt wie in kaum einen anderen. Die Beziehung zwischen den Charakteren ist absolut faszinierend und zieht einen unaufhaltsam in seinen Bann. Auch die story und das worldbuilding ist fantastisch. Kann kaum auf den 2. Teil warten.🥰

This was really nice. The characters are really different and lovable. They all have deep backstories with twist that sometimes are not guessed beforehand. The different relationships and personalities are fun. The planning and the acting out of the heist are sometimes very intense and you really question if this is just gonna go up in flames. Excited to read Crooked Kingdom and see how this all will continue.

Wow. Einfach Wow. Geniale Charakter, die man einfach ins Herz schließt. Ein Plottwist vom feinsten und eine riesige Welt voller Magie, Freundschaften und Abenteuer. Während des Lesens hatte ich das Gefühl live mit vor Ort zu sein und ein Teil der Missionen der Crows zu sein. Ganz große Klasse!!!

I will be honest it started as a 3 star read for me but luckily ended up being 4 stars. It does help to read the shadow and bone series first I’d say as I had no idea what creature was which until after a while reading the book. That being said you can definitely puzzle it all together without having the knowledge about the grishaverse. i grew really fond of the characters especially Nina and Marcus are my faves. Will it be my favorite fantasy duopoly/series? No. But it kept me entrained to enough to also read the second book.

Loved this even more the second time around! The characters are so flushed out and well rounded, they work so well together (no pun intended) and it's so fun to see them grow as a group and individuals and work their way through the hardships they're facing. The heist part of this story is just the cherry on the top, it's clever, intriguing and keeps you on your toes.

Wer found-family, morally-grey Charaktere und Heists mag, ist hier vollkommen richtig aufgehoben – auch ohne Shadow and Bone gelesen zu haben. Ich fand das Buch durchgehend spannend und alle Charaktere sind mir ans Herz gewachsen. Die Charaktere sind vielseitig, haben Fehler und vor allem viel Tiefe. Es gab nicht einem Moment, an dem ich mich gelangweilt habe, auch wenn ich es an 1-2 Stellen kurz verwirrend fand.

This was some action-packed adventure I just took with the Crows! I needed some time again to get my head around the working of Kerch and Ketterdam, but it was alright. Just makes it more astounding, how complex Bardugo made this whole world! The journey the characters take is complex as well and has so many facets. As the chapters are from all the six MCs I sometimes felt like I didn’t get enough time with each of them, but it wasn’t a major problem for me. I’m looking forward to the sequel 👀

Ich bin schockverliebt in dieses Buch! Jeder einzelne Charakter, jedes Storyelement, jeder Plottwist hat mich so mitgerissen! Es war unglaublich die Denkweisen der Charaktere mitzuverfolgen und ich wusste eigentlich an keiner Stelle was als nächstes passieren würde, es war wirklich verrückt 🤯 ich liebe Inej und wie sie trotz ihrer Vergangenheit eine bessere Zukunft nicht aufgibt und sich um andere kümmert. Und die Tension mit Kaz ist soo gut gemacht, wie sie immer umeinander herumtänzeln. Aber auch Nina und Matthias, es war so toll zu sehen wie sich ihre Beziehung entwickelt! Vor allem gegen Ende fand ich die tiefgründigen Charakterentwicklungen einfach wahnsinnig gut gelungen 😍

Wow! Was für ein cooles Buch. Die Story hat so Spaß gemacht! 😍 Alle 6 Charaktere sind mir sofort ans Herz gewachsen. Ich könnte mich nicht für einen ‚Liebling’ entscheiden, wenn ich müsste. Alle sind einfach wundervoll, mit vielen Ecken und Kanten. Bin gespannt auf den zweiten Teil…

I loved this book with it's characters and story/concept. Kaz was my absolute favorite and Inej was close second! I also really liked Jesper and Wylan. Nina was okay but boy o boy did I hate Matthias. In every chapter from his point of view he was worse than before. At least he had a little bit of character development towards the end but he still deserves a punch in the face, or three. For me he (and all of the Drüskelle/Fjerda) are terrible, hypocritical persons. Their mentality is "Greisha are all evil and don't deserve to live" but they're really bad as well? Like literally both sides are awful, stop putting yourself over the other. And before I rant way more over this character I want to mention that Kaz Brekker is goals and amazing

I don't think words can describe my feelings for these books. But I'll try nonetheless. Six of Crows is about 6 outcasts on an impossible heist to retrieve a hostage whose knowledge could change grisha-magic for ever. Together they are unstoppable, if they don't kill each other first. It is: - enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers - divers It has: - found family - moraly grey characters The moment these characters opened their mouths I fell in love with them. They're complex and interesting. I loved discovering their backstories along with the actual plot. It contributed to the understanding of each individual. The beginning was rather slow in both books. Still the plot line was was everything but straight. There were lots of twists and turns. The story was action packed and it was impossible to predict the ending. The world building was beautiful and the magic system unique. I wish the ending would have been a bit longer. I'd love to see more of the characters. The writing was great, the secrets and lies well woven into the story. In the end these books left me heart broken. That is why I rated it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Even though it was a bit difficult for me to find a way into the story at first, it was so rewarding when I finally did ;) The characters are so loveable and alive and the plot is simply thrilling. I loved to read this book and am looking forward to reading the second book as well!!

Ich habe das Buch schon länger auf dem TBR, wusste aber nicht so recht beim Thema „heist“ ob das so meins ist. Letztlich hat mir die Geschichte richtig gut gefallen, die verschiedenen POV habe ich sehr gemocht. Ich hatte vorher die shadow and bone Reihe nicht gelesen, konnte aber, nachdem ich mich ein bisschen in die Welt reingefuchst habe, gut reinfinden. Es hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt und ich werde wohl danach auch noch die shadow und Bone Reihe lesen!

Once I started this book it was hard to put it away. The different nature of the six main characters and their complicated relationships made for an interesting read. The five different POVs were also a great choice to tell this story besides for the second to last chapter which didn't really follow the rules to the previous POVs and took me out of the story for a bit.

I expected to like this book because so far I‘ve enjoyed all the books by Leigh Bardugo that I‘ve read and I was not wrong! What I didn’t expect was to love it this much!! This is a high stakes, high tension, action-packed story about a heist that despite never giving its characters a calm minute manages perfectly to introduce the reader to compelling, interesting protagonists. At certain points I wished I hadn’t watched the series before reading because Leigh Bardugo is a mastermind when it comes to dropping hints about the background of her characters (and well, I knew that background already from the show…) I cannot WAIT to read the sequel!!

Had a hard time getting into the book because at the beginning it felt really YA to me. However, after the halfway point I couldn’t put it down. Really loved it. It’s a weird mix between slow paced and at the same time fast paced? I don’t know that works myself but somehow Leigh Bardugo did. Some parts were quite graphic, even a bit too graphic for my liking, but it made me loose the YA feeling, making the ambiance much better. The romance part was a bit much and not necessary imo, but didn’t ruin the story

Six of Crows ist eines meiner Lieblingsbücher und ich habe es jetzt das erste Mal als Hörbuch auf Audible gehört. Die Synchronsprecher sind wirklich super und bringen die Stimmung sehr gut rüber. Allerdings ist es zwischendurch etwas schwierig zu erkennen welcher Charakter gerade redet, da zwischen den POVs gewechselt wird und jeder Synchronsprecher eine andere Betonung für die Charaktere verwendet. Trotzdem kann ich es sehr empfehlen. Eine super spannende Geschichte mit unfassbar tollen Charakteren die man einfach mögen muss 🖤

Loved this book! Although it couldn’t quite convince me to be a five star book. Who knows maybe Crooked Kingdom will be. I adore Leigh Bardugo’s writing and the characters she creates. I definitely prefer Six of Crows over the Grisha Trilogy and would recommend SoC to anyone who was looking for the spice and grit in Shadow & Bone. It’s much more complex and deeply-rooted than S&B. Very enjoyable and a great book for everybody who loves the Grishaverse who was missing the last bit of umpfh! P.S.: I like Kaz but I don’t LOVE him. So if anyone is out there who also kind of despises him sometimes hit me up. Love the other Crows though! Especially Inej and Nina! -kilian
