Somewhere in France during WWI flighter Bat mourns the death of his lover Gene when a mechanic tries to blackmail him for it. One strike, one accidental and deathly fall, and Bat faces charges, either for murder or indecent moral acts when Cowboy, a young American flighter, rescues him by dealing with the mechanic's body. But then he wants something from Bat for it. This was a dark, dark novella. The deaths surrounding Bat, but also the way in which Cowboy takes over. Rather uncomfortable with it to be honest.
