„I dont care how the story ends as long as I spend it with you”
I’ll be honest: Beach Read didn’t hook me right away. The beginning felt slow, and for a moment I wasn’t sure if this was going to be my kind of story. But looking back, that slow start was exactly what I needed — because by the end, I wasn’t just invested, I was feeling everything right along with the characters. This isn’t just a cute rom-com set at the beach. It’s a story wrapped in grief, fear, broken relationships — and somehow, love still finds its way in. Gus Everett completely stole my heart. His quiet depth, his trauma, his emetophobia (which, as someone who gets it, hit home in such a rare and validating way) — all of it made him feel real and deeply lovable. He’s proof that you don’t have to be “whole” to love or be loved. January and Gus writing in each other’s least favorite genres? Adorable. Watching them slowly peel back each other’s layers while writing about ghosts and rom-coms was such a fun and meaningful twist. Beach Read is for anyone who’s ever been a little lost, a little hurt, and still hoped that their story might end with love — not in a perfect way, but in a real one. Because sometimes, the best endings aren’t about the story at all, but about who you’re with when the last page turns
