“It was heartbreaking, only Buck’s heart was unbreakable.“ (p. 62) What I took from this book: mankind is a piece of shit and doesn’t deserve the greatness that is dogs. For reals, that was an incredibly heartbreaking story. The writing style was a bit too flowery for my taste at times, but then again added to the truly moving and impactful nature of this book. Especially with phrases like that: “The two mongrels were without spirit at all; bones were the only things breakable about them.“ (p. 57) Adding this book to my ginourmous list of why I want to have to share my life with (a) dog(s) asap.
