I liked how this book differed from the rest of the series. Reading about cowboys, ranches and western riding was fun, and I also enjoyed Lani's (or Kathy's, since I'm reading the series in German and they changed the names) perspective. Added to that, the historical background of the gold rush in Colorado was really interesting. What kind of annoyed me was the first part of the book, with her sister's wedding preparations and stress. It was setting the plot for the rest of the book, but I was constantly waiting for Lani's/Kathy's friends and the horses to show up and for the actual plot to begin. Also, as a 19 year-old, I could guess the "plot twists" and where the author was going, but for younger readers, this should be a fun, entertaining read.
