Unique story idea and lovely characters

Absolutely loved this one! Stella‘s and Michael‘s story was so refreshingly different from many other romance books I’ve read lately because it deals with lots of different themes in ways I haven’t seen in romance before! Definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read it yet but would like to check it out!🩵

6⭐️ read 🫶 I don’t even know what to write, but I felt all the emotions and couldn’t put that book down. I also love the story behind it, that the author realized she was autistic herself while doing research. It’s crisp, full of action and the miscommunication is realistic. Big recommendation ☺️

This book is very cute and sweet, but I didn’t enjoy the ending. I don’t want to say it felt rushed, but it was very cliche while the rest of the book didn’t feel that way. I did really like that Stella has Aspergers and that Michael is Vietnamese. Diversity is always a plus in my book. Also, the love scene was great. It didn’t feel out of place at all, and it flowed pretty naturally.

A dear friend recommended the kiss quotient to me a while ago and I was surprised by how much enjoyed it! It's really refreshing to have such an unusual heroine and I found myself fascinated by Stella and the way she thinks throughout the novel. She and Michael make a great pair; it was very sweet to see a relationship that is supposed to start as simply physical to be defined by so much respect and care from both sides at all times. Of course, there's the typical angsty struggle and misunderstanding, but still. A sweet soft romance that I'd definitely say is worth reading with a blanket and a nice tea :)

1.5 stars “I didn’t even know the correct Vietnamese word for girl parts until I was twenty. Most people call it a little bird. My aunt refers to it as a sweet potato. Those aren’t the right words for yours. You have a pussy, Stella.” Did you cringe as much as I did? The sex scenes were giant cringe attacks. I’ve read a fair amount of smut but I’ve never read anything as bad as this: “Is it your… box?” “No.” “Your… Lady V?” She smiled into the blankets. “No.” “Beautiful vagina.” Her smile widened, and she shook her head. He licked her again, sucked on her with the faintest pressure, and she arched against his mouth. Still, she hovered on the brink, exactly where he wanted her. “I know.” He kissed her inner thigh. “It’s your…” He accented each word with a kiss upon her damp skin. “Wet. Hot. Sweet potato.” WHY?! This isn’t fun to read. It sounded so promising though. Stella’s autistic, didn't have a real relationship yet and thinks she’s bad at sex. Therefore, she hires an escort, Michael, who has some serious daddy issues by the way. It wasn’t romantic at all and their fight/break up at the end was so unnecessary but it seems like communication is quite unimportant. SHE GAVE HER ENTIRE TRUST FUND AWAY FOR HIM. Because “it’s just money.” Yeah, sure, she started a medical program but still. I don’t think she would have done it if she hadn’t met Michael. Basically the end of it was like “She buys me stuff, therefore she loves me and I love her, we’re in a relationship now.” Philip, Stella’s co-worker, was such an unnecessary character. He was mentioned at the beginning, and miraculously returns after Stella and Michael break up. That was Philip’s time to shine. After Stella went on a date with him, Michael sees how he tries to kiss her. Michael saved the damsel in distress and punched Philip. She was very satisfied because it made her feel special. What I liked, however, was the representation of Michael’s Vietnamese roots.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang received so many rave reviews. I wanted to know why the hype, but I have to admit though I was a little wary at first. I took the plunge after I saw that a few of my blogger associates loved it. I chucked caution to the wind and dived right into the story. I am glad I did. If I had to use one adjective to describe this book, the term used would be stunning. This is by far my favourite book for the year. There is a plethora of reviews in the blogosphere for this title making it difficult not to say what has already been said about this book. I will say this though, The Kiss Quotient is one of those books you need top pick up when you have nothing else doing, as the story will consume you. Once you start, you will be hard pressed to put it down. The characters will weave themselves into your hearts to the point you will not forget them soon. I loved Stella and Michael together. An unconventional couple, but perfect for each other. I loved Michael’s patience towards Stella even before he knew about her Asperger’s Syndrome. Even after he found out it never changed how he felt about her. I loved Michael despite him being an escort. His decision to be an escort was not an easy, but he saw it as the only way out. I may not have agreed with his choice, but who am I to judge. This story pushed the boundaries of my emotional capacity. I cried (which is a rare occurrence when reading) and I laughed as I rooted for these two. They both deserved happiness as they both had their share of pain and disappointment. The story fulfilled all my expectations. I cannot find anything about the book I did not love apart from the fact I wanted more from Stella and Michael. Conclusion/Recommendation If you have not read this book as yet I suggest you make the effort, you won’t regret it. I believe this book is a must read for fans of diverse romance.

Stopped reading after 30% because I knew how the rest of the book would end. And wasn't able to read more about how Stella put herself down constantly and how the two characters spiraled in a quite boring will they/won't they story without real substance. Two stars for including Aspergers and giving it a plattform which was the main reason I was drawn to the book. But unfortunately that wore off way too fast.

Mal was neues und spannendes

This was definitely a fun and good (and sexy, for that matter) read for in-between.I absolutely loved Stella and Michael together and I can't tell you how much I loved the way Michael treated Stella for being who she is. He never questioned her requests for anything. Never made fun of her. Love that.I also absolutely loved that neither one of Michael's friends or family treated Stella any different and welcomed her with open arms without saying any bad word about her or questioning his decision to spend time with her. As it should be. Definitely recommend.

That was so much more than I had ever imagined!! - Autistic representation - Asian representation - OWN VOICE!! - The Reader‘s Guide at the end!? LOVED THAT - Stella as a woman being the “the smart money maker” while Michael - the man - often got reduced to his looks - Insta (but not too Insta) Love - Emotional damage - Enjoyable smutty scenes lol Really excited for the other two books in this series

It was good, I had a great time reading this. But it’s not remarkable great either. Liked that the love interest didn’t need to be an complete asshole. I could understand his motives all to well and they all make sense to me. However, this thing with the “I fuck the Autism out of you” really grossed me out. I mean, yes, people diagnosed with autism can have sex and Relationships but this was just too much for me. And the explanation was like - we are soulmates. Utter bullshit. Michal was the first person who put Stella first. That’s nothing to do with being soulmates. That’s just being not a complete Idiot. All in all a great short read that wasn’t able to hold my interest for long so yay me. Already ordered the other three books so I will probably read them? I don’t know. (English isn’t my first language so please be nice. If you want to correct me regarding my spelling or/and grammar feel free to do that.)

This was so not what I expected it to be but a millions times better. I loved loved loved Stella!! I loved the representation of autism. I loved that Stella knew who she was despite her doubts and I loved that Michael did nothing but encourage her in everything she already is. Shes perfect and normal in her own way! I absolutely aaaate this up!! I’m so happy I finally read this and I‘m definitely reading the rest of the series. 5+ ⭐️

second read 4,25 stars I really enjoyed my reread of this book for the clit-lit-bookclub for May! The characters are still some of my favs in any romance book, and I didn't mind the miscommunication trope THAT much this time around. Since I also already read The Bride Test, I recognized some of the characters from that bok too, and it made me excited to read the third book in the series as well!! first read 3,5 stars Reviewing this is complicated. On the one hand, I loved the characters, and they really grew on me throughout the course of the book, so that now when I am looking back onto the book, I can only think of them fondly. BIG HOWEVER though: There were so many tropes that I just rolled my eyes at. And if I tell you that the miscommunication trope has me HEATED, then you will know how I reacted to THIS plot point. But then again, the plot itself and how it developed was alright, and the book really tackled a few important topics. Big thumbs up for that. I would recommend it anyway if you are looking for something quick and fun to read, with lovable characters!

The cover and title makes it seem like this is a fun light romantic comedy. It is way more sexual and about different cultures than the picture and title suggest. This book was enjoyable to read and easy to relate to. The only problem was that it was too long for the story that it is telling. They had sex a lot. The good part was that it was written in a way to show how the characters related to each other instead of being just a scene where people had sex to turn the reader on. The way they performed sex was a major way their character was revealed. The way the book created tension to move the plot forward was by having the characters have a lot of doubts about the other and keep secrets hidden till the end. I liked this because it kept the book focused on the actions of the lead characters instead of there being an outside subplot that I would not have cared about, like in other romance books. However, it still took too long to get to the scene where the secrets and doubts are dealt with through talking. There were many quotes from the book that are observations by the female lead that were funny such as when she wondered if the man's responses to her were real or just part of his job: "He was a seasoned escort. His body probably took commands like a show dolphin."
