The book begins with a tragic event that sets everything in motion, drawing the reader into a story that’s emotional and intense and once started is hard to put down. We follow Charlie and Tate as they navigate heartbreaking losses, complicated friendships, and eventually, love. Watching their bond grow through shared pain and personal growth was incredibly moving especially because the characters felt real, flawed, and human and that made their journey all the more compelling. The entire time, I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster because the story’s ups and downs mirrored grief itself. One moment everything is calm, the next it’s not, and while that made the pacing feel a bit chaotic, I can’t fault it because that’s exactly what grief is like: it comes and goes as it pleases. The rawness of that emotional rhythm made the story hit even harder. Overall, Darling Venom is a beautifully written, heartfelt novel that balances darkness and humor in a way that feels real and resonant. Es fing wirklich nicht schlecht an und ich hatte die Hoffnung, dass es ein Buch werden würde, das Mental Health gut repräsentiert. Aber nach dem Zeitsprung wusste ich, dass ich das in diesem Buch nicht bekommen würde. Stattdessen musste ich eine Frauenarztuntersuchung erleben, die in einem Orgasmus endete. Muss man dazu noch was sagen? Ich hoffe nicht. Denn es war alles, aber nicht schön. Tate fand ich als Charakter einfach schrecklich, ich mochte ihn nicht. Ich meine, was ist das denn für ein Frauenarzt? In seinem Büro erst mal jemanden flachlegen - puh. Nicht zu erwähnen, dass das die Szene war, in der Charlotte ihn kennengelernt hat. Der kleine "Plottwist" am Ende war sehr vorhersehbar. Es sind nur zwei Sterne (statt einem) geworden, weil die Passagen, wo es wirklich um Mental Health ging, meistens ganz gut waren. Der Rest konnte mich nicht überzeugen.

Nachdem mir das Buch wirklich mehrfach empfohlen wurde .. bin ich ganz neutral an diese Geschichte herangegangen.. Puhhh 😮‍💨💔😪😳 Triggerwarnung vorweg !! Es geht um Depression, Tod, Verlust, Trauer und um Verarbeitung. Zwei Teenager , die beide am Valentinstag auf einem Dach das Leben beenden wollen und indem sie sich an diesem Abend treffen.. retten sie sich gegenseitig.. Die Geschichte zwischen Charlotte und Kellan ist keine leichte Kost und doch so ergreifend.. Da spoilern hier ganz schnell geht .. höre ich auf.. Und täuscht Euch nicht von meinen Sätzen .. 😇 Es ist auch eine wahnsinnige Liebesgeschichte ❤️ Charaktere 5/5 ⭐️ Geschichte 10/5 ⭐️😉 Spice 1,5/5 🌶️ ( die eine Szene beim Frauenarzt 😳) 🤯

Eine Liebeserklärung über den Tod hinaus. Vorab meinen Gedanken; ich frage mich, ob ich euch schon mit den ersten Sätzen etwas wegnehme und zu viel verrate. Die Intensität dieses Werkes komplett ohne Vorwissen in jeder möglichen Version zu genießen. Dieses, das euch vernichten wird, das Herz bricht, es aber auch höherschlagen lässt. Wobei ich jetzt den Klappentext kenne und dieser wirklich wenig über den wahren Verlauf, die Konsequenzen und die Rolle von Tate verrät. Ich hoffe daher, dass meine Rezension euch da auch noch mit Neugierde und hohen Erwartungen zum Lesen verleitet. Ich habe nämlich das Buch gelesen, ohne auf den Klappentext zu achten. Das Buch hat mich wegen seines positiven Rufs und dem wunderschönen Cover angesprochen. Sprich, ich konnte mich unvoreingenommen fallen lassen, war entsetzt über das erste Aufeinandertreffen. Dagegen wurde ich bittersüß von den so jungen, gebrochenen Seelen vereinnahmt. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit hing ich an den Lippen der Autorin, konnte die Entwicklung atemlos und nervenzehrend verfolgen. Denn dieses Buch wird einen vernichten, an den Rand der Emotionen bringen und doch so viel Hoffnungen schüren. Besonders, wo man Kellan und Charlotte so schnell ins Herz geschlossen hat. Ihnen möchte ich viel mehr Gründe zur Hoffnung bieten. An ihrer Seite durchlebt eine Vielfalt von Gemütszuständen. Die Veränderungen treffen einen. Das Auftauchen von Tate alles ins rechte Licht rückt und die Rolle von Charlotte / Charlie festigt. Sie beeindruckt einen, präsentiert ihre Stärke, wo sie sich doch um sich selbst kümmern müsste. Sie wird zu einem Anker, mit ihrem unglaublichen Gemüt, beschützend, fürsorglich und immer zur Stelle. Tate zeigt dafür eiskalte Präsens, abweisend und unnahbar, doch mit der Zeit auch voller selbstzerstörender Absichten. Der durch Charlotte herausgefordert wird. Sie geht ihm viel zu nahe. Die Gedanken kreisen unbewusst um sie. Die Verbindung durch seinen jüngeren Bruder belastet ihn, aber nicht davor zurückschreckt, sie immer mehr an sich zu binden. Wer genau am Ende an diesem Konstrukt zerbricht? Lest selbst, trauert mit ihnen und verfallt dem Darling Venom. Ein intensives, berauschendes und tragisches Werk. Genießt die Verstrickungen und die Entwicklung der gebrochenen Persönlichkeiten. Ein Highlight schlechthin, das einen ins Herz schneidet und am Ende bittersüß stärkt. Eine Trauerbewältigung bietet, die einem das Herz bricht, es zerreißt und wieder instandsetzt. Die epische Botschaft über die Liebe, die über den Tod hinaus vermittelt. Herausragende Lesestunden bieten, die einen am Ende zutiefst beeindruckt zurücklässt. Vielen Dank für das Rezensionsexemplar an den Verlag. I am giving this 1 star so it doesn’t look like i just forgot to rate it Also i will never trust book recs from people who rated this 3 stars and up. If you are one of those people, i recommend reading more actual books instead of wattpad fanfictions. If you think Tate is hot, please be safe out there because you seem to be attracted to the wrong type of guy. Trigger warnings for this book: suicide, suicidal ideation, mentions of self harm, infertility, miscarriages, alcoholism, substance abuse, loss of family Came across this on TikTok and wanted to read it for the same reason i like watching movies like Sharknado - to be entertained by something trashy. The sad thing is that this book is not intentionally trashy, but accidentally. It reads like the author expects to be hailed as the new Jane Austen. I don’t like to trash talk but seriously, some books would never have been picked up by any publisher, so selfpublishing was the only way for them. This is one of those books. The metaphors on basically every single page are painfully bad. Sometimes you can just say it how it is. You don‘t have to paint a picture. You wanted a renaissance oil painting but the result was more like a wall that was drawn on with crayons. The pacing is off, the emotional impact was non-existant, Charlotte is that edgy i am not like other girls girl with used doc martens and ripped tights, that reads a lot and is a social pariah for allegedly being a nerd. She is nothing short of annoying but Tate is even worse. He is hot now and cold the next minute, always torn between staying away from the 12 years his junior Charlotte and not being able to stay away from her. The scene where he examines her as a patient in his practice and gives her an orgasm during her very first pelvic exam is ridiculous, not to mention morally wrong. Okay, he‘s not trying to do that, he just performs the examination but for some reason Charlotte is so pent up that this seems to be enough to get her off. The fact that he later fantasises about it is weird, then he actually stalks her to the library and later in the book he is watching her from a restaurant over the span of several weeks. Tate is a walking red flag. At several points in the book he gets aggressive and destroys stuff accidentally. All the dysfunctional relationships in this book get resolved, everyone gets a happy ending and the big reveal at the end was something i could smell from a mile away. What i really hated was the romance and all the spice. These people are talking about Kellan, who ended his own life, one minute and the next they are panting like dogs and horny. Also why is everyone panting as soon as they get worked up? Couldn’t they be breathing hard at least once for a change? Honestly, people finding each other and bonding over trauma and then helping each other work through it would be a nice plot by itself. Even romantic feelings could have a place in that story, making things difficult because it feels like betraying that one person that is gone. But all of this just reads like a giant joke. I only kept going because it was fun to be horrified. And because i wanted to know if i was right. I was, by the way.

This book destroyed me! I have never cried so early in a book or related to a book more! I don't know if this makes sense but this book helped me a lot somehow it was so healing to read and sometimes I broke down and I was really scared that they wouldn't end up together but they did and I loved it! I have never felt something like this after reading a book and I don't know what it is that I feel but omg this book it deserves more fame I LOVE IT!!

Dieses Buch 🥺❤‍🩹. Die Story ist viel mehr als eine Liebesgeschichte und es gab so viele gute Stellen. Es werden sehr schwierige Themen wie Verlust, Trauer und Schuld behandelt. Das Buch fängt auch sehr intensiv an und ich rate dazu, die Triggerwarnung zu lesen! Die Charaktere sind sehr echt, machen Fehler und haben alle sehr viel durchgemacht. Stellenweise war die Story echt herzzerreißend. Ich mochte die Entwicklung der einzelnen Charaktere und wie vielschichtig die Themen behandelt wurden. Die Lovestory entwickelt sich zwar sehr langsam, aber es hat einfach den Umständen entsprechend sehr gut gepasst. Nur die Spicy Stellen fand ich sehr cringe😄.

This book is everything. It‘s hard to put a finger down at where to start because my emotions are all over the place. The story is definitely much more than a love story – I‘m inclined to agree with @auryreads (who as well as @morla_books made me want to read this book in the first place, so thank you for that and lots of love to you🫶) that the story actually did not need the love story. The plot would have intrigued me as much even if it wasn‘t there. But I‘m so grateful for Tate and Charlie and their story– they have my heart, as a couple and as individuals, they made me feel it all… the heartache, the pain, the guilt, the self–proclaimed punishment, the healing, and the love… And Kellan…there were moments when I wanted to hate him (in the beginning), but I can‘t help but feel with him and for him, and love him as much as I love Charlie and Tate. This book is a highlight for me by the way – I think I haven‘t mentioned that yet😂 5+/5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️/5

5+++ Ich habe nicht genügend Wörter zur Verfügung um auszudrücken was dieses Buch in mir ausgelöst hat. Bereits direkt nach beenden kann ich sagen, dass ich die Geschichte noch lange im Kopf haben werde. Eine Geschichte über jene, die sich entschieden haben zu gehen, diejenigen die zurückgeblieben sind und all die gebrochenen.
