I've already seen the movie and I have to confess: If it wouldn't have been Leonardo DiCaprio who played the main role, I wouldn't have been interested in this book/movie. I liked it, especially the "plot twist" with the accident. I had my difficulty with this book at the beginning and it wasn't until Gatsby "appeared" in the narration that I found it interesting. The spelling style was a little bit strange at the beginning but I adjusted to it and was in a reading rush in the end (read 130 pages at one day). Well there weren't any surprises I didn't know before, so it's just ok. But I like the story somehow which is why I gave it three stars instead of two. Nick is quite boring to be honest and it's so clear that Gatsby and Daisy remain in the focus. But if you've seen the movie you don't have to read this book. Luhrmann did a great job and Leo also.
