Ahhh. 4.5/5. I'll admit, I did not want to like this book as much as I did. After reading the first one, ACOTAR, I gave this one a chance because everyone said it was better. Let me tell you: it was SO much better. While Feyre is still annoying as hell, I got more of a feel for her person than I did in the first book. And still, I had to roll my eyes every time she spoke of beauty and painting and everything unnecessary in moments of DEATH. Gurl, get a grip, assess the situation and sort out your priorities. Nevertheless: I LOVED the new characters! There weren't too many, so each one had enough space to seem crafted carefully to understand them on a deeper level, as far as Maas wanted to let us know. The worldbuilding continues to go strong, and I loved to see Feyre's new powers, even if I wished it wasn't her who got them. She did seem smart at times, I'll give her that, and she knows what to fight for. I wished, hoped, wanted, to see more POC characters and representation but sadly that part still seemed a little too white-washed for my liking... The sexual scenes were okay, at times a little oddly-worded, but they portrayed emotions really well. I'm happy it was more than just Fae corn. Rhysand has my heart. Lucien: currently undecided, but I'll give him my faith. Same with Nesta. She's got balls tho.

Bada-bing, bada-booooooom 🤯💥 I get the hype now ! I want more. Absolut Lesenswert 🥰

Packend

Fae and female empowerment with spice 🌶️🥀✨

I feel like ACOMAF is mainly the story of Feyre finding herself and coming into herself especially this new version of herself both physically and mentally. We get to know a lot of new places in Prythian, new Courts and all. There is a whole lot of new history of the world in general but it never felt like infodumping but was woven into the story and felt natural. We also meet so many amazing new characters and besides the obvious relationship *Feysand* that everybody is shipping I loved the theme of found family that runs through the whole book. Mor, Cassian, Azriel and Amren are all so special and all of them quite broken in one way or another bit the fact that they survived and chose to be there for each other makes their and Rhysands relationship all the more stronger. Reading the first third of the book was really hard for me and I had to take a rather long pause before coming back to it because of the shitty situation the story starts of in. But once you get over this hard bit, it just kept getting better. Right until those last few chapters that broke my heart, mended it and then broke it some more. I was NOT okay after finishing ACOMAF and now need to continue with ACOWAR immediately! 💔✨

So this one was actually a little better than the first book. It definitely had way more tension and suspense, which was something the first book really was missing. But oh boy...the character expositions. The amount of character expositions in this book were astronomical to the point where it really got annoying. Don't get me wrong! I love myself a rich backstory. But in ACOMAF, it just felt like Sarah tried to drop everything important about her characters in this one book so she could be over with it. In a way, it kind of came across to me like she wanted to achieve the readers attachment to the characters via sympathy for their backstories instead of actual actions and interactions in the present timeline of the book. While the overly cheesy moments of the first book got saved by my best boy Lucien in the first book, this time, it was Amren and Mor who saved the day for me! I really enjoyed the two of them and can't wait to read more about them! After all, this was a solid but not groundbreaking read. The end, though, was a very intriguing and promising send-off to the third book, so I am interested to see how the story will continue!

Wow wow wow, now I completely understand the hype around this book!🥹❤️

I couldn't put “ACOMAF” down. My emotions had to survive various emotional rollercoasters to get to the end of this book. It was nice to learn so much about the personalities of the different characters and Prythian / the world. I can't wait to continue with “ACOWAR”. Contents: [⚠️ Spoiler] After the traumatic events under the mountain, Feyre returns to the Spring Court as a reawakened High Fae. However, she is broken inside - plagued by nightmares, guilt and the feeling of being trapped in a relationship with Tamlin, who increasingly controls her. When Tamlin finally locks her up completely, Feyre is rescued by Rhysand, the High Lord of Night Court. Rhysand takes Feyre to Velaris, a hidden and beautiful city untouched by war. There she meets his inner circle. Feyre begins to heal, discovers new powers within herself from her reawakening from the seven courts, and eventually becomes part of that inner circle. At the same time, war is brewing: The King of Hybern plans to conquer the Prythian Empire and subjugate the human world. To stop him, Feyre and her new allies must find an artifact that could limit the power of the Cauldron - an ancient, dangerous source of magical power. During the quest, the relationship between Feyre and Rhysand grows. It is revealed that they are not just friends or allies, but that they are mates - a deep, fateful connection. Feyre learns to accept her own strength and move on from her past with Tamlin. In an attempt to prevent the war, Feyre tries to seek allies with Rhysand and the inner circle. But a betrayal by Tamlin, who has allied himself with the King of Hybern, leads to Feyre being forced to feign loyalty to Tamlin in a dramatic finale in order to infiltrate the enemy camp and gather vital information for the resistance. The novel ends with Feyre returning to the Spring Court as a spy and new High Lady of the Night Court to fight her enemies from within.

My Feysand heart... Re-reading this is like coming home. Velaris the city of starlight. The Inner Circle. Our Highlord of the Court of Dreams. So much happens in this book and somehow it hits every time. I mean this has so many popular tropes: enemies-to-lovers, one bed trope, nightmare trope, fated-lovers. I love how Feyre slowly but surely falls for Rhys and I actually like that she doesn't find about the mating bond until the end. Because that just proves that she loves him for who he is. On of my favorite scenes has to be the " Illyrian wings are VERY sensitve" and him blowing into her ear part. it makes me giggle every single time. I just love how honest they are with each other and share their trauma with each other. Feyre feeling at home under the stars immediately, even though she tried so hard not to. The infamous wedding crash scene. The Court of Nightmares. The training scenes. The paper notes. The mating bond reveal and then the FUCKING soup. Ladies and gentlemen this is how you do it. I love them with all my heart. This book has so much going on and somehow above it all stand the deep love and friendship the Inner Circle have for each other and their Court of Dreams. I love the dynamics of the Inner Circle even though in this book we only see the surface of it. Feyre's first introduction to the Inner Circle will remain one of my favorite things and how quickly they all accepted her and made them part of their messy family. Feyre's healing processes is such a big part of this book. From her being so thin and barely sleeping through the night. The scene where she gets locked in gets me every time. The genuine horror and sorrow she experiences. How she slowly is able to face what she went through and the realization that love sometimes can be too strong and destroy you. I love how we see her become herself again and accept the she became a Fae. She grows and grows and not only mentally but she becomes strong and starts sleeping and eating well and is able to find happiness. She not only accepts but makes the gifts of the High Lords her own. Rhys was a big part of it, but that doesn't mean that she only grew because of him. Rhysand thinking he isn't worthy of love is so heartbreaking. He loves his people so much and dares to dream for the better. He would have let Feyre, his mate, stay with Tamlin if that made her happy. His drama truly is overlooked and I just want to give him a big hug. He tries to shoulder everything on his own and luckily he has friends who would just about do anything to help him wherever he will let them. Anyway this is already way to long but all these characters mean so much to me and I truly can't wait to re-read ACOWAR next, even though I know I will be heartbroken.

Feyre, you go girl!

„I don‘t want to have to wait on anyone to rescue me.” p. 229 Endlich hat Feyre einen tiefen und starken Charakter!

Alles in allem klare Empfehlung.

i need to preface this by saying i was not expecting to like this series. oh my fucking god. this is the best book i’ve ever read. the chemistry, banter, tension just everything is done to perfection. this is by far one of the most beautiful love stories i’ve ever read too, it had me in tears at midnight crying for how much beauty is in this relationship, what a gorgeous love confession. the writing style is so poetic it totally immerses you into the land of the fae and the lyrical descriptions of the courts are just beautiful. the whole reading experience was just magical and took my breath away several times. i need a rhysand <3

"I have known many High Lord," (…) But never one that dreamed.“

Definitiv empfehlenswert! 📚

I still can´t think without drifting to this book ... It´s the best second book i´ve ever read. There was no single page without you wanting to devour the entire book because of the excitement. The persons i loved and the persons i hated in the first book changed their roles throughout this one; So, it depresses me so much that Rhys and Feyre ... well, because of the end. I finished the book in the middle of a group of friends, and the only thing i could do was ignoring them and closing my eyes - maybe the sequel might appear right before me ... But that didn´t happen, unfortunatly. I fear I have to wait like all the others until next year. I can´t wait for it! I thougt the first one already was a masterpiece, but i was proved wrong ... by this one. REREAD APRIL 2017 I still love this book. so much. it's heartwrenching and steamy and nervewrecking and ahh so good that it wakes all my feeeeels and this ending-i need ACOWAR now

This book—wow. Why did it take me so long to finish it?! This was really a rollercoaster of emotions and I was certainly not prepared for what was coming. It was written so freaking well! It was so, so good. Love, hate, everything. I wanted to trash the book (not really, love this baby) because SJM wrote it so well. Could you get through all the stages of happiness and grief in a minute. It's a ride, but it's definitely worth it. When you finished the first book, don't let it take too long to finish the second becauze I regret that part. Good thing though: I started my year and finished January with a really good book. I'm still utterly shocked that I don't know what to say except for that it was so good. And I will repeat that.

Whaaaaat. There are so many things I love about this book. Yes, most of the real action again only starts in the last 20% but getting there is a roller-coaster ride itself (although a lot of it was obvious, but Feyre being so bloody stubborn kept the suspense up I guess). The Bat Boys are BAE. And Mor, oh how I would devour a book from her perspective. She's a queen, and I want a happy end for her. For a long time I was thinking maybe they'll become some sort of trio, but evidently SJM has other plans for Cassian, which I approve of as well. Amren I didn't have any feelings towards until right there at the end when she basically demanden to know where Feyre was. Although I did like that she had that Summer Court prince wrapped around her finger. During the final showdown, when Lucien went to offer Elain his cape I already knew what was about to happen for them. Tamlin is still a fool. I can't wait to see how that unravels in book 3. I just want Lucien to finally realize that his High Lord is a prick for wanting a mating bond severed. I want Lucien to turn on him, but deep down I feel that's not going to happen.

5⭐️ why not Okay I loved everything about this book. When I started it I never thought I could finish it but I did and now I’m sad. I loved everything in this book except for the first part with Tamlin. For obvious reasons. But this book made me feel so much! I laughed out loud, cried a little bc I couldn’t believe, what happened at the end but most importantly I fell in love with every character of the IC the rest… I mean the Attor, the lord of the court of nightmares, the king of Hybern… they can all burn in hell. But one thing that I don’t hate but that I noticed is that for me there isn’t really a built up to the love confession. That was my problem kn the first book too, that the realization and actual love confession came so fast and I personally as a reader didn’t feel the experience of the falling in love. I loved Feyre and Rhysand together nonetheless ❤️
