I absolutely loved this book! best read this year so far. I was completely invested in the characters and their story. I loved how the writer made them relatable throughout the entire story. After reading his first book I was a little torn but this book solidified the writer as one of my favourites. I can't wait to see more from him.

I really enjoyed "Rules of civility" and "A gentleman in Moscow", so I had high expectations going into this. The book was as good as I had hoped for if not even better! I loved the well crafted characters whose intentions and actions felt so realistic and comprehensible. In spite of it being a really long book I never felt bored and was always eager to learn how the story progressed. The story never stayed predictable and took many turns I didn't expect. If you enjoyed Amor Towles' other books, I would definitely recommend this one!
