This is such a lovely little book to read! It’s very accessible and easy to read. In this essay, Woolf puts readers and writers in relation to each other and encourages readers to have their own opinions, to listen to their gut and to develop a sense for their own reading preferences. Becoming a bit more like a feminist discourse towards the end but that’s exactly what makes this essay so up to date even though it’s almost 100 years old.
