Cute
⤷‧₊˚5⭑ “what are you thinking then?” “that maybe we can meet halfway” As a kid who only had his mother because his father was a huge ass, reading it from a mother's perspective was something new. I really can't describe how much this book means to me. This book deserves so much more than 5 stars and if I could, I certainly would. Madison is one of my top 10 favorite female characters and my favorite fictional mother. I love her so much, she was such a strong character with a big heart who went through a lot and tried everything to make sure her son is fine. Yes, and of course my boy Garrett i love him. He was an asshole at first but his development was so well written and i will never get over how sweet he was to her son.
„Oh I love it and I hate it at the same time“ At first I need to say that I didn’t really like the writing style and also, I missed the kid talk, yk single mother falling in love would always put her kid first and would sit down with them and ask how they felt about the relationship and get their „blessing“ but all I got was „we had this thing going on for a month now“ bla bla bla like seriously? Nevertheless, I liked how the author represented the emotions in this book and the reason that Lilian wrote this book to show all the shades and aspect of being a single mom in the world, being judged and working their ass of to enable their kid the best life possible. Also, one quote I’ll keep in my head and take it with me: [„Life wasn’t meant to be perfect.] —> A candle couldn’t change its shape without first burning. [I wouldn’t have what I have, be the person I am, without my past.“] I’ll keep this in mind every time I look at a candle again

In love with Garret and Maddi❤️
