I want more epilogue chapters please.
It's not only a sweet re-telling of Cinderella (down to the pumpkin), but moreover it's a love-letter to Geeks.
This book is a love letter to fandom and nerd culture coated in the sweetest teen romance in the form of a modern Cinderella retelling. We follow Elle and Darien each on their own journey while they find themselves and each other. Incredible read.
I liked some parts of it and disliked others... I really hate the evil-stepmother-trope, if you don't mind that, add a fourth star to this review
I really liked it. It was just sweet and nerdy and super cute :-). Just the right type of book when you're on travel and just want to relax a little bit. If you're watching out for a soft love story with some geeky mentions, cute teenage outsiders, a sweet dog, and a bad stepmother, this is probably the right book for you ;-)
This book was exactly what I needed right now! I saw the book at the Goodreads newsletter and on some Instagram accounts promoting it. As a Geek myself the book cover called me so I had to buy it. Poston describes a Geeks live perfectly! I felt so much like I would read my own feelings and thoughts. Shame the book isn't thicker so I could have more of this beautiful love letter to Geeks! It feels good to know you are not alone, right? Aim. Ignite. Thank you.
I was working on a book cover commission and looking for some easy, light hearted audiobook to keep me company - since this book‘s been on my tbr for a while I just went with it. I‘ve always loved Cinderella (can‘t lie, I‘m still waiting for my fairy tale prince … or hogwarts letter … or some kind of fantasy adventure) and this geeky retelling just stole my heart. It‘s light hearted, full of fandom stuff like conventions, cosplay, fanfictions, blogging, the joined force of fans and their love for fictional characters … and of course, the cinderella story line. In short: it‘s everything I love. To add to that, I absolutely loved Sage as bad ass, sewing-talent fairy godmother and pls, the magic pumpkin???
"Look at the stars. Aim. Ignite." Cute retelling. I loved the fandom aspect and the truth that lies in it.
It was a super geeky story and I loved that part about this book.

I didn't expect to love this book so much when I started reading it, but gosh, it was just so cute and I loved all about it, especially the presence of so many different fandoms in it! Also, having a major fangirl as the main character was such a great perspective to read from. I reallyreally loved it, so no doubt, for me this is a 5🌟 read.
Fandom and how it influences and saves peoples lifes with complex relationships and some cheese moments. Highly recommend it!
3.5/5 stars! Didn't really like it as much I had anticipated it. It was cute, simple and easy.. definitely a read when you are low and you don't want to go for anything heavy. RTC.
Before I started reading this, I had been craving some cute, romantic, cheesy love story and I had hoped Geekerella would be exactly that. For the first half of the book, though, I felt a bit let down. I really enjoyed Elle's pov, but I felt like Darien's perspective was a bit unnecessary - maybe because in the actual tale, we don't get to see the prince's perspective. Later on, it became clear that it is indeed necessary for the reader to experience his perspective as well, but I think I would have preferred if his pov had started a bit later in the book. Things really started to pick up pace for me around halfway through the book, when Elle and Darien finally meat each other for the first time in real life. Finally, I understood how perfect the chemistry between the two is and how they are clearly meant to be with each other. Before that, I didn't really care that much, but from that point on, I was all on board. And it continuously got better. The angst, the stakes, the 'hate'-to-love-part, everything... I started to love the book. I'm glad I can say that this was the first romance book in ages that actually made me swoon and genuinely root for the main couple. So if you're thinking about DNFing the book after the first 100 pages or so... keep going, it'll be worth it. Liked this one a lot!
