It was even better than Heir of Fire! Sarah J. Maas has invented such an incredible character with Aelin. I mean, I love them, so incredible. ! Spoiler ! Oh my god how cute are Aelin and Aedion together please I mean they are like siblings who love each other but also hate each other and take the piss out of each other but still would never let anything happen to the other because they love each other so much, it's a bit annoying that he is so over protective but I find that even more annoying with Rowan especially because Aelin just doesn't need it. I'm so happy for Lyssandra that she's free now and I also think it's good that she's done justice for Sam and Weasley. I don't think I would have been able to cope emotionally if Arobynn had survived. And oh my god she's a shapeshifter, how cool is that? I also sense a certain tension between her and Aedion. I'm curious to see what will happen. The chapters from Dorian's point of view almost destroyed me. I am so incredibly happy that she was able to save him. I still don't know what to make of the bullshit his father told. I mean, when I read it I thought, he only says that because he wants to survive but then he said he wants her to kill him and after that I thought maybe he was telling the truth after all. I'm definitely curious to see what happens next. I'm definitely in love with Manon too I was really disappointed that she provided Perrington with a coven and later did nothing to help them even though she knew what was happening, but she made up for it when she later freed Elide. I also thought it was really cool what Kaltain did. I just didn't quite understand what kind of stone she had. I hope Elide finds Aelin. And oh my god, how badass was the fight scene between Manon and Aelin? So rad! I still can't quite figure out what's going on between Manon and Dorian but I like it and I hope it stays! I was a bit pissed off with Rowan at times but actually I think they're cute together but sometimes he kind of annoys me. They definitely deserve each other and if he drops the territorial shit I‘m fine with him too!

I really wanted to give this 5 stars, but it just don't compare to ACOMOF for me. I know its bad to compare them, especially because they're both SJM books, but those books set the bar way too high. Still, I loved it. This has been my favourite of the series so far. Rowan, Aelin and Manon carried tho. I didn't like the witchy parts of the story that much in Heir of Fire, but the SJM developed it. Manon is still vile, but we got to see her emotions. The face of between her and Aelin, just EPIC. I am so excited to see how they'll interact. Dorian, my poor baby. Boy went through the wringer in this and now I just want to read Empire of Storms, because I miss that man. Same for Rowan, who I really want to see more of. I loved every scene he was in, and the 200 something pages he wasn't in were a real pain. I love that he isn't made into some invincible warrior, and we actually see him hurt and unable to do anything. Reading stuff he was thinking made me love him more and also crazy. Still on the same page as I have been on for the last books with Chaol, didn't really feel sorry towards the end for him. Maybe I am just mean, but I don't like him. On Aedion I have mixed feelings, well not entirely mixed, but I am not yet attached to his character. I do like him, but the fixation on the blood oath made me kind of not. He was so insistent and said it was his right, without thinking about if Aelin even wanted it. So that kind of downgraded him for me. He doesn't seem as fleshed out as other characters, let's see if that changes. Lysandra we stan. Elide you could've done better, but I still love you. Anyway, I loved it and I can't wait for more. I am curious to see where we go from here, since I love the TOG world more than I thought I would. PS: I l am a sucker for the possessive male fae shit

Ich muss ehrlich gestehen, dass ich zwischendurch meine Schwierigkeiten mit diesem Band hatte – aber ich glaube, das liegt eher an mir als am Buch selbst. Mir ist aufgefallen, dass ich anscheinend generell ein kleines Problem mit vierten Bänden in Reihen habe. Das war bei Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch und City of Fallen Angels ganz ähnlich: Irgendwas hakt bei mir da immer ein bisschen. Trotz allem hat mich Queen of Shadows emotional mitgenommen. Es war ein ständiges Auf und Ab – Spannung, Dramatik, Hoffnung, Wut – alles war dabei, und das auf eine Weise, die einen nicht loslässt. Ich war die ganze Zeit über tief in der Geschichte, habe mit den Figuren mitgefiebert und konnte das Buch zeitweise kaum aus der Hand legen. Die Charaktere sind mir noch mehr ans Herz gewachsen, selbst die neu dazugekommenen. Gemeinsam bilden sie ein so starkes, eingespieltes Team, und es ist schön zu sehen, dass Aelin auf so treue Weggefährten zählen kann. Aelin selbst wächst in diesem Band nochmal über sich hinaus. Sie wird zu einer noch stärkeren, klügeren und selbstbewussteren Frau. Ich bewundere ihre Entschlossenheit, ihre reflektierte Art und wie sie sich nicht einschüchtern lässt – auch nicht von sich selbst. Ein paar Längen waren für mich trotzdem dabei. Manche Passagen hätten für meinen Geschmack etwas gestrafft werden können, aber das hat den Gesamteindruck nicht allzu sehr geschmälert. Die Entwicklungen in der Story sind spannend und vielversprechend, und ich bin wahnsinnig neugierig, wie es weitergeht. Besonders freue ich mich darauf, mehr von Manon und ihren Dreizehn zu lesen – sie sind einfach faszinierend und haben so viel Potenzial. Und das Ende? Damit habe ich wirklich nicht gerechnet.

Wow, einfach wow! Das Buch ist ein absolutes Highlight! Endlich nimmt die Story so richtig Fahrt auf und erstmals werden auch die wichtigsten Charaktere und ihre Handlungsstränge zusammengeführt. Das ganze Buch war so fesselnd, dass ich es kaum weglegen konnte. Die 5 Sterne sind absolut verdient!

“Let’s go rattle the stars.” Epicness. Crown of Midnight blew my mind and Heir of Fire broke my heart into teensy tiny pieces, but neither of those felt as grand as this one. Worlds collided, debts were paid and a queen rose to her glory. This is a tribute to strong and heroic female characters like Elide, Nesryn and Lysandra. I mean: “Please,” Lysandra said, waving a manicured hand, “you and I are nothing but wild beasts wearing human skins. Don’t even try to deny it.” Celena Sardothiens is arrogant, stubborn, sassy and brave. All those traits are magnified and combined in such a masterful way that creates a truly unique character. She becomes a true queen - cunning, determined and fierce. Now Manon Blackbeak truly surprised me. She starts wondering, plotting and taking a stand, slowly but surely. She's gloriously wicked, but not evil and I utterly fell in love with her character. Add to that Aedion as the male version of Aelin, Rowans wisdom, devotion and alpha male intensity, Fleetfoot and Abraxos and of course Chaol and Dorian finding their bromance again. Again Sarah J. Maas pulled out the big guns and took over the fantasy genre with a gorgeous world, amazingly crafted characters and imaginative, twisty plot.

This book was perfectly paced. There wasn‘t one dull moment. One big thing followed the next: Freeing Dorian, killing Arobynn (thank god), saving Lysandra (I love her btw), saving Chaol‘s ass and seeing that epic Aelin-Manon fight, killing the King and freeing Dorian, Kaltain blowing up literal hell aka Morath. This book was amazing. I am super curious to see what‘s gonna happen next. Also I read the last 475 pages in 4 days and I don‘t care what others say, I‘m pretty damn proud of myself because I‘m usually a snail when it comes to SJM books.

Almost a 5☆ read for me. Honestly the only thing that bothered me was the weird development of relationships timewise. Sometimes they just emotionally developed way to fast without any trigger, which made them feel a little unrealistic and more over made it hard for me to really empathise with them. At other points the relationship development just seemed to be unnecessarily elongated which made me just doubt certain decisions and made it hard for me to really love the main character. But besides that the story is really captivating and the twists and turns kept me guessing at all times. I think the final scenes as well made space for Aelin and her Court in my bookloving heart. :)

Fazit: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Es war wieder ein absolutes Lesevergnügen! Celaena gibt es nicht mehr, sie ist nunmehr offiziell Aelin Galathynius, die rechtmäßige Königin von Terrasen. Und ich finde man merkt es ihr auch an, sie hat sich verändert und neue Ziele vor Augen. Ich bin immer wieder begeistert von dieser Hauptprotagonistin, die nicht nur kämpferisch der Wahnsinn ist, sondern auch so verdammt klug! Ich liebe sie einfach! Wieder laufen in diesem Buch die Geschichten verschiedener Personen gleichzeitig, weshalb es wirklich die ganze Zeit spannend bleibt. Vorallem Manon und ihr Klan sowie Elide haben mich echt für sich eingenommen! Die Valg spielen eine sehr große Rolle und man erfährt noch mehr über sie und ihre Entstehung und es ist wirklich so grausam! Allein was in Morath mit dem Zirkel der Yellowlegs passiert ist. Das Buch hat mich in allen Aspekten wieder absolut überzeugen können und hat mich von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite gefesselt. Ich fand’s schön, dass es nun auch etwas romantisch wurde zwischen Aelin und Rowan. I mean 🥹🫶🏼 : »Jahrhunderte lang bin ich in der Welt umhergewandert, durch Königreiche, Länder und Wüsten, ohne zur Ruhe zu kommen, ohne innezuhalten - nicht einen Augenblick lang. Immer habe ich zum Horizont gesehen, mich immer gefragt, was hinter dem nächsten Ozean liegt, hinter dem nächsten Berg. Aber ich glaube ... ich glaube, die ganze Zeit über, die ganzen Jahrhunderte lang, habe ich nur dich gesucht.« Ein wahnsinnig tolles Buch und nun werde ich mich auf den Tandem-Read vorbereiten😁

It took four books to finally reach this one. For me this is really the start, I felt the thrill, the excitement, the devastation, the surprise, I loved every second of it and now I finally get to see all of it (the magic, the power, the fights). I'm here for it. So far I liked QOS the most out of all the books but I have a feeling that the last three will really blow me away

The pieces are finally coming together. At last, I'm starting to like Manon and I can see what everyone is saying about her. I can't believe I didn't like Rowan that much at the beginning, shame on me. And I also can't believe that I'm starting to like Lysandra even though I hated her at first. This book is definitely everything but boring.

Ich finde man braucht immer wieder etwas, um rein zu kommen,wenn man die nicht nacheinander liest. Aber dieses Buch war Mega, es passiert so viel und geht gut voran. Das Ende ear natürlich phänomenal 🤩 Die Charaktere entwickeln sich toll weiter, insbesondere Manon. Chaol hat mich zwischenzeitlich übelst genervt, obwohl ich anfangs ein großer Fan war 😅 Ich bin gespannt auf den Tandem read für die nächsten 2 Bücher.

A bit disappointed. Dont get me wrong!! I still love it but to what i am used to this felt a bit like a filler episode. Or maybe im just stupid idk. I was so excited to see what was going on after heir of fire bc i read assassins blade next. Worst thing to me was aedion‘s and aelin‘s reunion:((( i wanted emotions but they were too badass :( idk i was sooo excited for that and it was a bit of a let down.

"Queen of Shadows" ist ein weiterer epischer Band der Throne of Glass Reihe. Ich liebe ALLES daran! Die Liebe, die ich für diese Reihe habe... unendlich. Ich bin direkt wieder eingetaucht. Aelin ist badass as always, man bekommt endlich ein Wiedersehen mit Chaol. Die unterschiedlichen "Welten", die man in den letzten drei Bänden kennengelernt hat, prallen aufeinander und ich saß einfach on the edge of my seat dafür. Aedions und Rowans Alpha Fae Gehabe omg. Und so viele Emotionen! Ich musste Lachen, Weinen, Schmunzeln, Schreien. Es ist so spannend, von Anfang bis Ende. Genau das liebe ich so bei der Reihe. Es passiert irgendwie immer was. Es wird nie langweilig. Die Bindungen zwischen den Charakteren finde ich auch so unglaublich toll. Man sieht, wie gut sie alle geschrieben sind. Entwicklungen sind klar zu sehen, ohne dass jemand überperfekt ist. Die Erfahrungen und Traumata aus der Vergangenheit haben ihre Spuren hinterlassen und die Charaktere verhalten sich dementsprechend. Das macht alles sehr realistisch und greifbar. Alle Beteiligten hier haben gelernt, sind gewachsen, haben sich verändert, haben vergeben und sind sich näher gekommen. Liebe es einfach. 💕 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

2019 5⭐️ Nach einem etwas langsamen Start… Wie spannend kann ein Buch sein?! Ich liebe all die neuen Sichtweisen und Charaktere und auch die neuen Richtungen, die die Geschichte einschlägt! In diesem Band ist so wahnsinnig viel passiert, ich bin so gespannt, wie es weitergeht! 2024 5+⭐️ (Hörbuch) Auch dieses Mal wieder ein wahnsinns Buch, ich liebe alles daran. Selbst der Anfang konnte mich beim zweiten Mal schon absolut überzeugen. Ich fieberte bei allen Charakteren so sehr mit und obwohl ich die Geschichte grundsätzlich schon kenne, fielen mir so viele Details auf, die ich längst wieder vergessen hatte. Die ganze Geschichte gewinnt so sehr an Tiefe und Spannung in diesem Band, die Geschehnisse beginnen sich zuzuspitzen und man hat das Gefühl endlich so richtig in der Geschichte angekommen zu sein. Wirklich eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsbücher!

Achtung Spoiler - Die Throne of Glass Reihe hat mich mit einigen hervorragenden Büchern überrascht. Queen of Shadows war auch wieder gut, aber nicht so gut wie die anderen. Während mir die Charakterentwicklung unglaublich gefällt und ich hungrig darauf bin Terrasen kennenzulernen, gibt es ein paar Wendungen die mir nicht gefallen haben. ZB dass ich das Gefühl habe, dass Aelin fast jedes Buch einen neuen Lover hat, auch wenn man jetzt zumindest ein Gefühl hat wo es mir Rowan hingeht. Ich verstehe irgendwie immernoch nicht ganz, wie es auf einmal zu der Trennung mit Chaol kam und fand es viel zu schnell wie er eine neue hatte (die aufeinmal eine Ex war die wir nicht kannten). Manon hingegen habe ich extrem ins Herz geschlossen und bin gespannt wie und ob es mit ihr und Dorian weitergeht.

Wow what an amazing story. I absolutely love this series and can't actually believe I've finished the book already. I'm still crushing over characters, I'm still loving the plots, the twits and turn just the whole world and story of Celena. I hope to god there is a next one and that there isn't too long a wait. If you haven't started this series you need to. It's amazing!

This was my favourite in the series so far. I didn't realize how much I missed the characters until I was in the middle of the book and fell in love this most of them all over again. However there is a certain character, who surprised me with their actions and decisions in this novel, unfortunately not in a good way. It seemed a little bit off to me. On the other side I enjoyed many of the other character developements. It's nice to see the different story lines intertwine which were biuld up since book one. The writing style is very enjoyable to me. It manages to describe everything thoroughly and is still very easy to read. One aspect that I apreciated was that the author doesn't hand you every detail on a plate, you have to think in certain parts, or you have to wait another chapter to fully understand what the character was doing.

Das hätte alles. Emotionen, Tension, Spannung, Twists, zusammenlaufende Fäden, starke Charakterentwicklungen, unerwartete Freundschaften und Verbindungen, es war so gut. Gerade die letzten 150 Seiten waren wieder so packend, ich konnte das Buch einfach nicht aus der Hand legen. Ganz großes Kino! "To a new world" - "To freedom" 💖

tbh I still don't thing this book (or any book in this series) needed to be this long... I really enjoyed most of this book. There was action and suspense, all the characters we met before slowly started to be connected. I don't enjoy enjoy of these "romantic" scenes and I feel like there wasn't enough build up for me to me invested in any romance between anybody. So far, my favorite character has to be Lysandra - her growth from the novella until the last page is unreal. Also, am I the only one that felt like this book was the final book? It felt like the conflict is resolved now and I would have been totally satisfied. So I am a bit anxious to see what is coming next, because like I said lots of problems are solved and I just hope SJM doesn't come up with obsurd obstacles that will erase all this progress again.

Was soll ich sagen? Bisher definitiv mein liebstes Buch aus der Reihe. Die letzten 100 Seiten waren wie immer einfach nur Gänsehaut pur!! Der Handlungsstrang von Manon war für mich wie schon im letzten Teil am spannendsten, sie hat sich für mich wirklich zu meinem Lieblingscharakter entwickelt. Und jetzt kann ich's nicht erwarten endlich mit dem Tandem Read anzufangen.. 🧚🏼‍♀️
