Okay..so I've read this novel a long time ago but I remember it just like yesterday so this is my first proper review with spoilers Tessa is a miss goody two shoes who always obeys her mom and her dad left them when she was a kid and she has a high school boyfriend. So she gets into WSU and the story starts from there. She meets Steph her roommate bad girl and Hardin bad boy And you can guess the rest PS: DON'T READ THE BOOK IF YOU'VE WATCHED THE MOVIE CAUSE 1)THE MOVIE SUCKS 2) SUSPENSE WILL BE OVER

There are two people in this world. Those that love this book and those that hate it. I am sorry to say I belong to the latter. I usually enjoy many stories of different types but this was just… infuriating to say the least. The main character was okay but weak as a person, letting herself be dependent and not a great human over all. Sure, this could be classified as an enemies to lovers, however the feelings here were just confusing. It’s obvious when two do not belong together and the back and forth was just tiring. I have no words to describe just how mentally abusive the love interest was and that theme never changes in the course of all three books. From being an addict to also an abuser love interest, there is really no way for this book to go but in the trash. To any younger person that has read this, or is planning to read this, take one thing with you this is NOT what a relationship should EVER look like. Abuse in any form, emotion, physical or other should NEVER be tolerated.

Als ich den Klappentext das erste Mal gelesen habe, dachte ich, das Buch ist ein zweite Beautiful Disaster. Versteht mich nicht falsch, das gehört auf jeden Fall zu meinen Lieblingsbüchern. Aber genau deshalb war ich mich sicher, dass ich After nicht mögen würde. Weil es einfach niemals so gut sein könnte, wie BD. Nur um das direkt mal klarzustellen: War es natürlich auch nicht. Aber ich wurde trotzdem positiv überrascht. Tessa ist zu Anfang sehr von ihrer Mutter eingeengt, nur weiß sie das noch nicht, weil sie es gar nicht anders gewohnt ist. Erst als sie aufs College kommt merkt sie, dass sie nicht immer das brave Mädchen sein will. Ihre Handlungen konnte ich nicht immer ganz nachvollziehen, denn manchmal sagt sie: „Ich gehe nie wieder auf eine Party und Alkohol trinke ich sowieso nicht mehr“, nur um es dann zwei Seiten später doch zu machen. Hardin ist wirklich ein Arsch, aber trotzdem mochte ich ihn die meiste Zeit. Er hat es nicht immer leicht gehabt (auch wenn das sein Verhalten nicht rechtfertigt) und Tessa bringt nach einer Weile eine andere Seite an ihm zum Vorschein. Am Anfang des Buches streiten die zwei sich ständig. Später wird es dann ein bisschen besser, sie werden Freunde, aber es gibt halt schon ziemlich viel Hin und Her. Das hat mich jetzt noch nicht soo extrem gestört, aber mal gucken, wie es in den 3 Folgebänden dann aussieht. Leider habe ich den Fehler gemacht und mir vor dem Lesen angeguckt, wie der Typ aussieht, über den die Fanfiction ursprünglich geschrieben wurde. Leider finde ich ihn ganz schlimm, habe dann aber dieses Bild nicht mehr aus dem Kopf bekommen :D Auch wenn ich Hardin oft schlagen wollte (Tessa dafür aber noch mehr!), hat mir die Beziehung, die sich langsam zwischen ihnen entwickelt, ganz gut gefallen. Irgendwie konnte ich das Buch gar nicht weglegen. Auch, wenn ich weiß, dass es bescheuert ist, weil es im Prinzip immer nur um Sex – Streit – Versöhnung – Sex – Streit … ging, wollte ich einfach, dass die beiden es mal auf die Kette kriegen. Ich sehe auf jeden Fall ganz viele Kritikpunkte, aber die haben mich jetzt nicht so extrem gestört. Das einzige, womit ich schon ein Problem hatte, ist, dass Tessa die erste Hälfte des Buches noch einen Freund hat. Das geht für mich gar nicht und hat mir so manche schöne Szene versaut. Das Ende hat mich völlig fertig gemacht und ich musste den zweiten Band sofort bestellen. Zum Glück konnte ich dann schon in die ersten 5 Kapitel reinlesen, was mich schonmal ein bisschen beruhigt hat. Fazit: Ich mochte das Buch mehr, als ich mir zunächst eingestehen wollte. Ich will nicht sagen, dass das Buch perfekt ist, denn das ist es auf keinen Fall. Kritikpunkte gibt es reichlich. Und trotzdem konnte ich mich nicht von der Geschichte losreißen. Wer nichts gegen dieses ständige Streiten und Wiederversöhnen hat und auch mit Bad Boy- und Good Girl-Klischees klarkommt, der sollte doch mal einen Blick in das Buch werfen.

Ich liebe After Passion Es ist einfach toll, Anna Todd hat einen wunderbaren Schreibstil bei dem man nicht merkt das man in kürzester Zeit schon so viele Seiten gelesen hat. Tessa und Hardin haben mich positiv fertig gemacht:) Die beiden waren einfach klasse, wenn man gerade denkt alles ist gut, platzt die nächste Bombe. Die beiden sind einfach unfassbar gut und ich freu mich schon drauf den nächsten Band zu lesen. Das Buch hat mich seelisch echt mitgenommen, am Ende am meisten;)

Toxic relationship sold as „romance“. It makes me sad that abusive behavior is forgiven so many times in this book. I am sad that in the name of love it is represented as acceptable and romantic that a women puts up with this shit.. I gave it two stars because I still had hope that as the series continues the story would develop to the better. I thought that maybe Tessa will find love in a more decent guy. So I read part 2 and the half of part 3 but it got worse. Should not have picked up the book in the first place.

Is one of the reasons that I dislike this book so much because it is a One Direction fanfiction and I absolutely despise shipping with real people? Yes. But funnily, I read this book before I even knew that it was fanfiction. You can clearly see the Twilight/Fifty Shades influence because Tessa is an absolute non-character. She is boring, annoying and oh so delicately inexperienced *gag*. Oh and she basically cheats on the loyal dude??? But I am supposed to root for her? I am sick of protagonists like her who only ever seem to get a personality the second they meet their abusive, asshole boyfriends. Let´s come to Hardin aka Harry Styles. To every author: Don´t write "Bad Boys" if you can´t separate them from abusers. They are something entirely different. I once read somewhere that Harry Styles knows about this book and hates it. I don´t know if this is true but honestly, if I were Harry, I would write Anna Todd a letter with a big, fat "Fuck you" in it. Hardin is an abusive asshole who blames everything on his oh-so-evil family and has violent outbursts when he is drunk. But sure, this man is the love of her life. Because... reasons. He gets his redemption thanks to the pure virgin vagina of Tessa and because he is oh so broken. Again, *gag*. This book was a mistake and honestly if I were Harry, I would sue Anna Todd for daring to write him this way and making money off of it.

Wow, this book just gave me the worst mood. How toxic can someone be? Hardin‘s double standards are so sick. This whole Tessa-Hardin relationship is sick and just plain wrong, even worse because of the outcome at the end of the book. How can you sell a plot like this as „romantic“? This is nothing but ABUSIVE. Last but not least, at least change the names so far that it isn‘t a plain One Direction fanfiction. Not to forget that the whole build-up and writing style was just like a really awful fanficfion. I read this book because I was curious what the hype was all about and after finishing „After“, I never got it less.

Ich finde es faszinierend wie eine Reihe so erfolgreich und gleichzeitig so kontrovers diskutiert sein kann. Klar das ständige on off zwischen den beiden ist alles andere als gesund, aber ich finde es eigentlich sehr romantisch, dass sie trotz all der Umstände immer wieder zu einander finden. Hardin ist genau die Art von Badboy die ich liebe, denn er verwandelt sich nicht von jetzt auf gleich in einen Good Guy nur weil er sich verliebt. Ich hab selten ein Buch/ eine Reihe gelesen in dem ich so intensiv mit den Protagonisten mitgefiebert hab. Gleichzeitig hätte ich die Bücher immer wieder an die Wand werfen können. Ich weiß nicht wie oft ich den Kopf, wegen Tessas Entscheidungen geschüttelt habe und absolut kein Verständnis für sie und ihre Handlungen hatte. Klar über Hardin könnte man genau das gleiche sagen, aber in dem Fall hab ich die rosarote Brille auf. Mein Bookboyfriend und ich führen seit über 6 Jahren eine glückliche Beziehung und ich kann über all seine Fehler hinwegsehen. Als ich die Geschichte das erste mal gelesen hab war das auf Wattpad, ich kann mich gar nicht mehr erinnern wie es dazu kam, denn ich bin ein One Direction Fan und hab deshalb nicht explizit nach deren Fan Fictions geschaut. Ehrlich gesagt hab ich eine Weile gebraucht um zu bemerken das es eine Fan Fiction war. Haben euch die Filme gefallen? Nach dem ersten war ich total enttäuscht, aber den zweiten fand ich gut. Auf die nächsten Teile hab ich eigentlich gar keine Lust weil schon wieder sämtliche Schauspieler ausgewechselt wurden.
