It took me a long time to finally read this hyped book... and omg! It was so worth it! 😍 The world-building, the amazing dragons, the great characters and their development, and that enemies-to-lovers romance...! love everything about this book! ❤️‍🔥🐉 In the middle of reading it, I pre-ordered the second book and can't wait to read it. How am I going to pass the time until then? Probably with fan art on Pinterest and annotating. I have no idea how to start a new book now, my heart can't survive that ❤️‍🩹

i’m not sure i can put into words how much i loved this book. i’ve heard really great things about this series and Rebecca Yarros and boy was everyone right! if you’re into fantasy, dragon warriors, bad boy love interest, then this book is for you! this book is definitely a slow buildup but it’s so worth it! you really bond with the characters even if the story follows Violet and her journey as she’s forced to join the dragon riders and work her way through war college. there’s a lot of twists and turns as you read this story, some heartwarming moments and some tear jerking ones. all in all, i applaud Rebecca for being able to really make this story jump off the page. every time you think the story’s calmed down it throws you for a loop. though this story might not be everyone’s cup of tea, its definitely earned 5 stars from me

Was für ein mitreißendes Buch, ich bin wirklich begeistert! Von Anfang bis Ende war ich vertieft in die Story und vor allem alles mit den Drachen fand ich sehr interessant, für mich einer der besten Teile des Buchs. Mit Shadow Daddy Xaden brauchen wir ja gar nicht erst anzufangen 🥵 Und Violet ist einfach eine tolle Protagonistin! Ich liebe es, dass sie nicht einfach akzeptiert, dass Sie angeblich "schwach" ist, sondern sich mit allen Mitteln durchkämpft. Sie ist schlau und schlagfertig und vor allem schreckt sie nie davor zurück zu sagen was sie fühlt. Alles in allem einfach ein super rundes Buch und auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

6/5✨ THE HYPE IS WORTH IT. I had some serious doubts because how can a Book be so good that it raises in Fame so fast. But when I tell you that from the first chapter I was reeled in, I mean seriously. IM A FISH AND THIS BOOK WAS THE HOOK. Im gonna be honest, I guessed every single plot twist to a T. I was shook.

Now, where do I even begin with this review? I noticed the hype around Fourth Wing and I procrastinated my read until I didn’t know that else to read. Within the first few pages of chapter one, Fourth Wing has put me in a chokehold and since then never let go. Within being a third into this book it was crystal clear to me, that this book is the best book I am reading this year. I have completely and utterly fallen for the story around Basgiath, Violet and Xaden. I can’t grasp it completely, what it even is, that this book does to me. But I am so here for it. The emotional rollercoaster I have been on, I was not able to put this book down. Not even at work or late at night, when I should’ve slept or first thing in the morning after I opened my eyes. Rebecca Yarros just did everything right with this story. Not even 2 hours after finishing I had to get Iron Flame.

Ich habe ja lange gebraucht, um mich für diese Reihe zu entscheiden. Denn bei einem gehypten Buch bin ich vorsichtig. Aber die Story hat irre Spaß gemacht. Es gibt viele Dialoge, das liebe ich ja. Es war von Beginn an spannend und hatte ein sehr gutes Tempo. Zum Ende hin wurde es so herzzerreißend, dass ich meine Tränen nicht stoppen konnte. Es war nicht alles vorhersehbar, somit gab es einige überraschende Wendungen für mich. Das Ende ist natürlich ein absoluter Paukenschlag, mit einer leisen Vorahnung, wenn auch erst am Schluss. Der Weltenbau ist irre gut. Ganz eigen und nicht austauschbar. Außerdem war ich immer mittendrin im Geschehen und hautnah dabei, habe mitgefiebert, gelitten, gelacht und geweint. So macht eine Story Spaß. Das Sahnehäubchen war das Hörbuch. Die Sprecherin war grandios. Sie konnte sich in alle Charaktere hineinversetzen und die für sich annehmen, ohne künstlich zu wirken. Auch wenn ich nur im letzten Kapitel einen Vorgeschmack auf den Sprecher bekommen habe, passt er perfekt zu Xadens Sicht. Für mich war das, großes Kino und ich bin soooo gespannt, wie es weiter geht.

Everything good I heard about this book was true. I love the world building, it`s easy to understand, yet complex enough to be interesting and allow certain turns and surprises. Speaking of: This is the first book in a while that could surprise me with certain twists. Usually I can smell plot twists from afar, I could with some here as well, but the book still managed to surprise me in the end. I like having a protagonist,who isn`t just sixteen or something but rather an independent woman, who knows of her flaws and works to get better. Violet is everything I love in a Protagonist. She is strong in a sense that she is aware of her weaknesses and manages to use everything she has to her advantage. Seeing her struggle in certain situations yet never giving up and standing up for herself, even to the people who should believe in her but don’t - that is what makes her so great. The plot itself is great as well. The way it follows Violets everyday life and major events is extremely well written. You never know what to expect next, because the characters themselves (or at least some of them) are unpredictable as well. What will a certain someone do next to make her life harder? When will her life be threatened? How will she overcome all the challenges she’s facing? I finished this book in less than two days and it is safe to say I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. It captured me in a way that I forgot how late it had gotten and for me that is a sign of a great book. I cannot wait for what the next book has to give!

Very good storyline. I like the world its playing in and the character are good, there is character development. The thing with the dragons, their power and the magic is fantastic and very enjoyable through the reading. Even though everyone says that this book is their new year highlight, I have to say that’s not happening for me. I read better books this year. On some points the descriptions of the happenings are undefined and there are some time jumps. But I have to say, I am excited for the next book and thank god, it will be published the week after next…

The BookTok hype is reaaaaal! I would have devoured this book earlier if I hadn‘t gotten a 39°C fever in between that made reading impossible (I still get dizzy reading but it was worth the suffering). This book got a good mix of plot and romance! I’d say about 80% plot and 20% romance, which is a good ratio for me to be honest. You are thrown into a world where dragons and magic are a thing. Dragons that would eat one for breakfast, not How To Train Your Dragons dragons. There‘s a school-like college that teachers students to be dragons riders (or healers, scribes,…) and think it’s fun to make challenges that potentially kill students off. Which made this book actually fun to read because NO ONE IS SAFE! Brings back the old Game Of Thrones days. There are plot twists and challenges that keep you on the edge and it is simply never a boring read. I was highly entertained and YES, there is cliffhanger at the end, so the sequel better comes fast
