This book fucking destroyed me. Be warned: about 2/3 of it are flashbacks into Wei Ying's past up to the point, where he rises as the Yilling Patriarch. But boy is the way up there PAINFULL! At some piont I really struggled to read any further ... it was devastating🫠 I'm glad I pushen trough, because our favourite disaster Bi is so oblivious to his own actions, that it boarders on incompetence ... I mean really - HOW BLIND CAN ONE PERSON BE?!?!🤦🏻‍♀️ The rabbits, the donkey-scene, the innocent roll in the hay resulting in a warm fuzzy feeling and his pounding heart, THE MEMORIES OF THE KISS!😍❤️‍🔥 I'm fucking DECEASED

… erfahren wir was eigentlich in Wei Wuxians und Lan Wangjis Vergangenheit passiert ist und endlich ist auch der Yiling Patriarch da! So tragisch das auch ist, ich liebe diesen Wei Wuxian und ich kann es ihm nicht verübeln, das er seine Entscheidungen so getroffen hat. Ich mag wie verworren das ganze ist. Und trotzdem ergibt es Sinn und ist so tragisch. Auch bekommt man hier endlich erste romantische Momente. Ich lieb es einfach so sehr.

Just finished my reread… and what can I say… For every heartbreaking scene there is another cute and fluffy one. Especially with all of the deeper knowledge of having finished the whole story before there are so many emotional moments in this book. I love to see Lan Zhan stand by Wei Wuxians side no matter what in the current timeline. It’s unfathomable how Wei Ying hasn’t realised his feelings yet with the kind of fantasies he has about his and Lan Zhan‘s future. But we all know that’s just a matter of time… One of the highlights has to be the first kiss for sure!! We love to see! When I started the reread of the third book I thought I would rate it lower than 5 stars but honestly how could I???!!!
