Omg was ein Buch. Das Worldbuilding war in Band 1 & 2 ja schon spitzenklasse, jetzt wurde alles noch so viel Größer 🤯 Wir bekommen nicht nur eine erweiterte Karte und neue Charaktere sondern auch eine unglaubliche Wendung in Celaenas Persönlichkeit. Die letzten 50 Seiten haben mich sprachlos zurückgelassen. So viele Wendungen mit denen man 0 gerechnet hat. Ein absolutes Gefühlschaos. Ich bin so gespannt wie es in Queen of Shadows weitergeht. Und ich brauche definitiv mehr von Rowan, anfangs war ich noch etwas hin und her gerissen aber irgendwann ist er mir doch ans Herz gewachsen. 🤭

Diese Reihe wird besser und besser. Endlich wieder in einem Buch so richtig abtauchen und alles vergessen. Bin gespannt wie es weiter geht und habe ein bisschen Angst 🫣 Was Sarah J Maas einfach beschreiben kann wie niemand sonst ist Female Rage. Hat mich ein wenig an Nesta erinnert zwischendurch und ich hab’s geliebt. Und endlich - Rowan 🥹 bisher hat mich niemand so richtig überzeugt, aber jetzt…

Finally the queen we deserve. I love the tension between Rowan and Aelin, even tho the slow burn hurts my smutty soul , lol. Also, I don’t get how I ever rooted for Chaol? I mean, it gets better throughout the book but still I seem to have a terrible judge of character (could have seen it coming). Lysander might be my spirit animal (literally) and I love the chemistry between her and Aelin. Also I really really want Manson and Aelin become at least acquaintances- they would be unstoppable. I also really want to see how Asterin and the thirteen act in the next book - will they still fight for the dark king, will they decide for another way…. So many questions!

I need to read Queen of Shadows, NOW But everyone told me that I shouldn't read the fourth one because it's very different from the rest of the storyline and I should read the Assassin's Blade first. Anyway, I loved seeing Celeana/Aelin out of the usual setting from the first two books. The banter with Rowan was chef's kiss. We finally got to know the full story of how her parents died and why she kept her powers at bay. We also got to see a more "caring" side of her, but all in character. She fought for what she loved and wanted to protect, and it was so good to see. Rowan, ma dude. His backstory made me so sad. Because I read and loved ACOTAR, I already knew about the Fae and how they act. The magic is still different, the Fae here seem even more territorial, but I don't mind that one bit. Anyway, Rowan was great. I loved seeing him open up to Aelin, and we got to know a more loving side to him, throughout the books. He isn't on the same level as the Bat-Boys yet, but we might get there. Dorian's story made me happy, sad and then mad. He deserved better. Why, Sarah, did you do him so dirty? I mean I get it but WHY. I fell in love with Sorshas character right away. It was so nice to see someone actually care about Dorian and him becoming happier. The ending, tho. Again, I neeeed to read Queen of Shadows, ASAP. Still don't like Chaol. I am sorry Chaol stans, but no. I did like Aedion tho. But honestly, I didn't get invested in their storyline, because I wanted to get back to Aelin and Rowan. Manon's storyline, partly interested me and partially didn't. I loved the parts with Abraxos, but I really didn't care about the witchy politics. She is an interesting character tho, so I am curious where this will go and how she'll be connected to the others. Anyway, this was good. I did really enjoy it, but since I mostly read at night, I found it hard not to fall asleep at some witch politic and Chaol moments. Rowan and Aelin carried this. Also, me is soft for Luca, Emrys and Sorsha

The third part is even more interesting with new characters and the fact that Celaena is on a different continent. ! Spoiler ! Oh my god I'm just praying that Celaena can somehow save Dorian. I mean, Dorian is my favourite character of all after Celaena. Besides, after Nehemiah's death, he can't be dead too. I hope Celaena saves Aedion I really like him and hope they see each other again. I've been fucked up by Chaol's perspective the whole time. I somehow can't stand him anymore since he had something with Celaena. What a badass character Celaena is please I mean with Maeve!!!! How cool was that please!!! I'm pretty sure Rowan and Celaena will end up together and I think I'd much rather that than her getting back together with Chaol. Somehow I've been wondering the whole time what would have happened if Chaol hadn't drawn his sword. I mean, Dorian only used his Magia to save him and if he hadn't done that Dorian wouldn't have had to do that and wouldn't be what he is now (please let someone save him, please!). I don't quite know what to make of Manon yet, but I'm curious to see what else she does. But I think I like her and the 13th I definitely hate her grandmother.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Real Rating: 3.5 Stars First let's talk about Celaena Sardothien, AKA: Biggest pussy in Erilea This was almost a three star read for me. Not because of the content or the writing, but because of Celaena's insufferable personality for 75% of this book. Don't get me wrong, I love a strong, but flawed main character. Start with a raging, badass female that can beat a grown man's ass, sprinkle on a little angst, add a dollop of tragedy and heartbreak and I am HERE for that shit. Unless it turns the "strong" main character into this heaping, useless blob of cowardice and self pity. If it wasn't bad enough that she shirked her responsibilities for ten years and drove her friend to do something drastic to get her to step up and stop being such a pussy, she's like "oh no, now instead of doing what she died for I'm gonna completely shut down, scream at people that are nice to me and wallow in self pity for months despite the fact I left my kingdom and people to rot for a DECADE over my own cowardice boohoo poor me." Yes, you are a goddamn coward. I don't need you to keep telling yourself that and crying over it every two pages just because your friend called you one. Get up, put on your big girl shoes and go do for her what she DIED FOR. And before you guys come at me with "Oh like you'd do anything different, I bet you'd be just as cowardly in her situation, blah blah blah" yeah um NO. If the fate of thousands of people depended on me I wouldn't just lay on a rooftop drinking wine all day and complaining about how the food tastes, all the while crying about what a big coward I am. Not to mention this "assassin" doesn't kill anyone she's paid or ordered to kill, because, among other reasons, they always seem too nice to kill lmao. Oh and how about all those times people just randomly snuck up behind her? Or the times the truth was slapping her in the face and she was so oblivious my eyes were rolling? And let's not even get into how horribly she treated Dorian in the first couple of books. My dude was just trying to be nice. Why you do dat, Celaena? But, before I get too carried away with how much I hated her for most of the beginning of this series, I do have to admit that her character development near the end of this book is what made me not give this three stars. I still will probably never respect her for how she behaved in the beginning but I'm glad she's finally realizing she has responsibilities to uphold and a kingdom to protect. Whew. I've been needing to get that out of my system for a while. On to the next thing. Now don't let the beginning of this review fool you! I love Sarah J. Maas books. ACOTAR is still my favorite, but this series is still among my top five all-time favorites. The magic system, the creatures and the Fae lore are what make her books so entertaining to read. Not just that, but watching the characters interact, grow and change over the course of thousands of pages makes me feel like I'm watching my own children grow up. I love that she never rushes anything. Friendships and relationships take time to grow in real life, and it's not always perfect, and I like how that's reflected in her writing. The plot moves along at a slower pace because it's building up to something or giving you time to get to know the characters. I know that a lot of people dislike that about her books, but I've never been one to enjoy a short & easy story. But there's one more thing I sort of have an issue with? And that is: Rowan Whitethorn. A giant part of me wants to see him for who he is at the end of the book: Just a guy that's been through a lot of shit but cares about Celaena. And yet the other part of me cannot forget that he beat the shit out of her over and over and over and over. You can justify that all you want, and honestly? I kind of understand why. He was in a dark place. He misunderstood her. He was training her like that so she'd understand her enemies wouldn't hold back. He was forced to do it. Whatever. It just sort of bothers me that's he willing to do that. However, he is growing on me. And I'm not sure if I like that or not yet. In Conclusion: This was probably my least favorite of every Sarah J. Maas book I've read so far. But of course I'll continue the series because I still very much enjoyed it. I could, however, have done without the million points of view. Manon's story was very entertaining but I couldn't keep interest in Chaol's and I have no idea why. Maybe it's from the lack of action on his end? Anyways, this series is great and I'm looking forward to the next several books.

I was holding my breath the last 100 pages. One of the best books I have read! This is the book that made me lock in and understand the TOG hype. This was the first time I cried in TOG and I haven’t stopped crying since (I finished the books months ago). Top tier writing, great character and world building and packed with emotions. I wish I could read this series again for the first time.

Der Anfang des Buches war noch recht entspannt, nett zu lesen, aber kein absolutes Highlight. Aber dann ab 150-200 Seiten ging es so richtig los und ich konnte das Buch nicht aus der Hand legen! Die neuen Charaktere, die wir kennenlernen haben einfach mein Herz. Es war durchweg spannend und super schön mehr von der Vergangenheit der Charaktere und ihren Persönlichkeiten zu erfahren. Ich bin so gespannt auf den nächsten Teil und kann es kaum erwarten!

I love the direction the plot is going from here. The first two books are masterpieces but the way the story went after these two is just beautiful. Sarah J. Maas is my favorite author and all of her books have influenced me and my taste forever. It is an epic journey you never want to end.

Okay, das war doch schon mal deutlich besser. Schön, dass die Heroine Journey nun so richtig losgeht. In der ersten Hälfte war ich ziemlich oft von der Heteronormative genervt - vor allem weil wir ja schon wissen, dass es auch queere Beziehungen gibt. Ziemlicher Abturn. Die neuen Charaktere gefallen mir ziemlich gut, da bin ich richtig gespannt, wie es weitergeht! Generell wirkt das Buch jetzt wie die letzte nötige Hürde, damits so richtig losgehen kann.

Oooohmeeeeingooott Ich fand die ersten Teile aus der Reihe schon so gut und jetzt geht’s so richtig los. Ich bin absolut begeistert. Es gibt richtig viel Charakterentwicklung, tolle neue Charaktere, coole Plots und dazu gehörende Plottwists 🥹 Freue mich tierisch drauf, den nächsten zu lesen

Das mit Abstand (bisher) beste Buch der Reihe! Es geht zurück in die Welt von ToG und dieses Mal hat Sarah J. Maas definitiv nochmal einen draufgesetzt. Man trifft seine Lieblingsfiguren der letzten Bände wieder und dennoch werden auch einige neue, bedeutende Charaktere vorgestellt, die man mindestens genauso schnell in sein Herz schließt. So bekommt die Geschichte, ehe sie vielleicht etwas langatmig hätte werden können, ganz neuen Aufschwung und neue Handlungsstränge. Erstmals ist das Buch auch nicht allein aus Calaenas Perspektive geschrieben. Stattdessen widmen sich die Kapitel mehreren unterschiedlichen Charakteren und Handlungsorten. Umso spannender ist es, diesen zu folgen und abzuwarten, wie alles schlussendlich miteinander verflochten ist. Auch endet das Buch erneut mit einem spannenden Finale, das riesen Lust macht, zu lesen, wie es weitergeht. Mit dem nächsten Teil wird gleich begonnen!

"She was the heir of ash and fire, and she would bow to no one." Trying a review after staring blankly in to space contemplating how to live my life after this book destroyed me. It's early January but this is going to be one of my book highlights for this year. I thought I knew Celaena from the threr books before, but I was so so wrong. In this book we see here truly broken, blaming herself for the fate of all her loved ones. When she takes down all her shields, embracing all the pain, regret and self loathing it truly marks a turning point and her transition from assasin to queen. Her fierceness was awe-inspiring and I loved that she's still the same stubborn, snarky and brave young woman. I loved the intimacy (not talking about romance) of her friendship with Rowan. He's a no nonsense type of person who won't put up with Celenas bullshit. When Celena throws a verbal punch he throws one that leaves a black eye. But the relationship they formed is so beautiful that it warms my heart to know that Celena finally found someone that she can fully rely on. The development of the characters was amazing especially Dorian, but also secondary characters like Ren Allsbrook, Luca, Emrys, the Ironteeth witches and Maeve and we meet amazing new characters like Aedion and Manon. The atmosphere is a lot darker and more action packed and I'll be jumping right into the next book to see how the story continues.

Fazit: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dieses Buch war so so so gut! Ich mochte die ersten beiden Teile und die Vorgeschichte wirklich auch sehr gern. Aber dieses Buch hat so viel mehr ausgelöst. Ich war von der ersten Seite an gebannt und konnte das Buch kaum aus der Hand legen. Die Erzählerpersektive hat mich Anfang der Buchreihe ein wenig gestört aber mittlerweile finde ich, dass es perfekt passt und sehr viel Sinn ergibt. Es kamen neue Protagonisten hinzu deren Sicht man kennenlernen konnte wie z.B. Manon. Und ich bin so gespannt wann sich diese Geschichten vermischen werden. Es war einfach so spannend und aufregend. Ich hab mich dabei ertappt wie ich im Alltag, wenn ich nicht lesen konnte, die ganze Zeit über das Buch nachgedacht habe und mir Theorien zusammengesponnen habe. Genau so etwas macht für mich ein tolles Buch aus. In diesem Teil hat die Geschichte wirklich Fahrt aufgenommen und ich freue mich riesig darauf weiterzulesen . 🔥♥️

I read heir of fire as the third book in the series and was pleasantly surprised to get multiple POVs in this book. I liked the new character and I also really enjoyed Manon as a new subplot. One big big problem I had was the slow start again. To be honest the first two books were kinda boring and the same happened here untill that one bathtub scene… That was when I got invested and the plot started plotting. Suddenly stuff was happening and Celaena started growing and developing as a character. From that page on which was after around 350 pages the book got me hooked and this last part made it for me to give this book a better ranking than the two before. I’m intrigued now where this journey will take me. And I am not afraid…okay maybe a little bit ;)

Band 3 macht richtig Laune zum Weiterlesen. Die erste Hälfte war etwas langatmig (wie gefühlt bei allen Sarah J Maas Büchern die ich gelesen habe😅), aber jedes Kapitel hat absolut seine Daseinsberechtigung und ist sooo wichtig für den Verlauf der Geschichte. Ich liebe die Richtung in die das ganze am Ende von Band 3 geht. Das ganze bekommt endlich Tiefgang und ist nicht mehr so seicht wie Band 1 und Band 2. Ich denke, jetzt, ab Band 3 kann ich den Hype auch endlich nachvollziehen und nachempfinden 🤭

Wie üblich bei der ToG Reihe (bisher), verlief der Anfang recht schleppend. Ab der Hälfte nahm es aber richtig Fahrt auf und ich wollte es gar nicht mehr weglegen. Rowan hat sich in mein Herz geschlichen und er zusammen mit Aelin ist einfach perfekt. Das Ende sorgt wie immer dafür, dass man heartbroken ist (wobei das in diesem Teil noch ging) und man unbedingt gleich mit dem nächsten Teil weitermachen möchte.

Was soll ich sagen. Einfach ein Meisterwerk. Die Art wie SJM Charaktere entwickelt und wachsen lässt ist einfach unglaublich spannend und schön zu lesen. Es gibt nicht einen Handlungsstrang den ich langweilig finde, auch wenn ich meine Favoriten habe. Gerade Manon fand ich super interessant zu lesen, weil man eben nochmal eine andere Perspektive auf die Welt von ToG bekommt.

Ich habe „Heir of Fire“ nach „Assassins Blade“ gelesen und konnte viele Anspielung auf ihre Vergangenheit sofort verstehen, was alles noch viel emotionaler gemacht hat. Es war von der erste Seite an spannend und emotionsgeladen und ich hatte bei diesem Buch nicht wie sonst öfter bei SJM das Gefühl dass die Spannungskurve etwas abflaut. Die Plots waren gut platziert und unvorhersehbar und die parallele Geschichte von Manon Blackbeak habe ich mit diesem Buch erst richtig nachvollziehen können. Ich freue mich schon auf die nächsten Bücher und auf die Beziehung zwischen Manon & Aelin die durchaus Interessant werden könnte. Außerdem fand ich die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Rowan & Aelin so unkonventionell schön… in anderen Bücher fühlt es sich immer so an dass die Paare so schnell zusammenkommen und kaum komplizierte Verhältnisse dargestellt werden und hier war es wirklich langsam und wunderschön aufgebaut.

2019 4⭐️ Dieser Teil zog sich teilweise zu sehr für meinen Geschmack. Es gab viele spannende Momente, aber die generelle Spannung über das ganze Buch hinweg fehlte mir ein bisschen. Trotzdem ein tolles Buch! 2024 5⭐️ (Hörbuch) Ich wusste noch von ersten Mal, dass ich diesen Band weniger mochte, beim Reread jetzt war das allerdings ganz anders. Ich liebte auch den dritten Band von vorne bis hinten! Die Geschichte beginnt in diesem Band schon ein wenig an Größe zuzunehmen, was mir beim ersten Mal lesen noch nicht so bewusst war, außerdem kommen schon ein paar der neuen Charaktere dazu. Dieses Mal konnte ich es mit Vorfreude auf alles was noch kommt genießen. Ich liebe diese Reihe!

Heir of Fire ist bis jetzt mein absolutes Highlight der TOG-Reihe. 😍🤯 Am Anfang hat es etwas gedauert, bis der Drive in die Geschichte kam, aber schon nach 50 Seiten war ich total invested in die Geschichten!!! Ich glaube, dass Buch hat von den verschiedenen Perspektiven gelebt, aus denen erzählt wurde. 🥹 Man denkt sich beim Lesen ständig, dass doch alles irgendwie zusammenhängt und die einzelnen Erlebnisse zusammengeführt werden müssen. Ich bin begeistert von der Art, sie diese Story aufgebaut wurde. Btw habe ich meinen "neuen Rhys" in Rowan gefunden. 🫣😂 Wirklich ein tolles Buch. 🧡🗡✨️

dieses Buch hat mich überwältigt mit jedem Buch kommen so viele neue Facetten auf und es passiert so unheimlich viel von dem ich gar nicht erwartet habe dass es passiert. Ich liebe die Entwicklungen, die neuen Charaktere und natürlich haben die letzten 100 Seiten mich wieder komplett vom Hocker gerissen. Ich war nicht bereit dafür. Ich muss jetzt erst mal bisschen drauf klar kommen.
