Wenn ihr einen kleinen Heartbreak braucht, here you are.

Ugh, idk. This was more of a 2.5 star read. I like how the author toyed with expectations, but I‘m not sure about how she chose to work with the book‘s premise (you‘ll know what I mean if you‘ve read this). There‘s also a very jarring FOUR YEAR time leap that could have been done better in my opinion.

hmmm I have mixed feelings about this book. I did not rly enjoy her writing style much. did not expect Bella dying of cancer tbh. middle till the end was pretty heavy. did not rly wanna read that. but I loved their friendship!! I’m also surprised about the ending. thought she’s gonna be in a relationship with Aaron as her vision actually predicted it. And then her being in the deli meeting Dr. Shaw? Was actually a pretty cool ending.

"In Five Years" by Rebecca Serle was a book that left me with mixed feelings. Initially, I found myself uncertain about the direction of the story. While the concept of seeing a glimpse of the future was intriguing, it took some time for me to fully immerse myself in the plot. However, once I got past the initial confusion, I appreciated the depth of character development and the complexities of the relationship between Dannie and Bella. Their friendship was beautifully portrayed, and I enjoyed the genuine connection between them, which added a layer of authenticity to the narrative. The emotional journey they embarked on together was touching, and it kept me invested in their individual growth. However, as the story progressed, I couldn't help but notice that the plot became somewhat predictable from the middle onwards. I was hoping for more surprises or twists to keep me engaged, but unfortunately, it felt like the storyline followed a conventional path, dampening my excitement. The ending was a disappointment for me as it didn't live up to the potential of the intriguing "in five years" aspect that initially hooked me. I expected a more profound exploration of the visions and their impact on the characters' lives. Instead, the resolution felt rushed and left me wanting more closure and depth to fully grasp the significance of the story's central theme. My only regret is that the "in five years" aspect, which initially intrigued me, could have been more prominently explored to add an extra layer of depth to the plot. Nevertheless, "In Five Years" remains a touching and meaningful story that celebrates the beauty of friendship, the complexities of relationships, and the inevitable journey of love and loss. Overall, a solid three-star read.

Wundervolle Handlung!

It took me a looonggg while to get into this book and there are a lot of things I disliked. But Bella’s and Dannie’s friendship I loved. I also loved the way the author wrote about love and loss - it was truly heartbreaking in the end.

Jaw-dropping lecture! Full of twists and turns, and things are seldom predictable in this book! Issues become unearthed in this story that I did not anticipate at all! The story is understood as in process of growth, of becoming, where Dani´s version transforms into a newer version of herself, with potentials for unlimited possibilities. I loved seeing her grow whilst the journey becomes her goal. Deep and thought-provoking story. Absolutely loved it ❤️. #SatisfyingRead

I personally really liked this book and it was a fast read! At the beginning I was skeptical because it’s shorter than most books but the author was able to tell us everything we need and want to know. It was just the right amount. There are many changes and plot twists which I really enjoyed and as a reader you develop your own theories throughout the book. The author makes us believe we know what will happen in the end and still manages to completely surprise us anyways. I love the pureness and realness of the relationship between Dannie and Bella. We can learn from each of them. Even though I wasn’t expecting it, I am really happy with the ending of the book.

Emotionales Spektakel

Last night I gave it 3 stars. The more I thought of it... the worse it got. [HEYOOOOOO unpopular opinion!] Seeee. I am a very emotional person and I CRY buckets in just a matter of moments. I was promised that here. However, by the end of the book, I wasn't crying because of the book but rather why I chose to believe that it will make me cry? If ya know what I mean? I am upset because: - From the looks of it... it was supposed to be a romance. A complicated romance where I am justifying and talking about people in relationships. However, the couples in the book were just meh. Their relationship didn't feel like oh, oh my god, I want that love? Or oh no.. this is going to break my heart. They were all just nice people but not swoon-worthy couples. That was my first disappointment from the book. - The friendship. Ah.... if you are going to explore that aspect you should have got the reader invested in that relationship. The chemistry between Bella and Dannie was hollow. I didn't feel that they can not survive without each other. It was more like oh yeah we are friends... - The emotional quotient didn't quite hit hard??? Almost felt like you are forcing us to be sad about it. And at one point I was more like ehhhhh. Stop, I don't like this cheese [I love cheese] - The book is titled 'In Five Years', however, we see 2020 and then we are speed tracked 4.5 years later? Umm.. hi? How is this In five years? You could have just gone with the 6 months duration and invested in a long term relationship of the main character in the past, i.e. we can start with her being in a relationship for 7 years than actually speeding through the 5 years of the relationship? In any way, we don't get to see how their relationship is like? Anyway.. it felt more like they are siblings than people in love. :| Hi, where is the spark? And I guess that sums up my experience with this book :( What were your thoughts?
