You can’t let fear stop you doing things, otherwise you’ll never do anything at all, and doesn’t that sound even scarier in the long run? I’m not sure what went wrong here, I just didn’t enjoy it. I agree with her points, I just didn’t like her writing. She explained things which most people probably already understand without her weird explanations and comparisons. I don’t think it’s necessary to explain what self-harm is. She also compared sex to different kinds of dances in one chapter and to ice cream flavours in another one. There’s a lot about bullying as well. I did, however, like the following quote: "Your light isn’t so easy to put out. It might flicker, or even seem to be extinguished for a while, but it’s there and it will burn bright again. Good friends are the ones who hold their hand around your flame when other people are trying to blow it out." This book is probably better suited towards a teenage audience.
