I‘m soooo glad I read this. It is so much different than the movie and I honestly cannot decide if I like the book or the movie more. Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2022
It was a quick read because the writing style was basically a stream of consciousness. The story makes sense and everything is well thought through. However, I give it only two stars because – I found the characters annoying and dumb. Their relationships seemed platonic and staged. – The anti technology/social media/privacy critic felt exaggerated. –Also, the ending was unsatisfactory, very very open and the frame back to the prologue was totally missing. Maybe that leaves room for interpretation, but this book didn't spark any motivation in me in order to interpret it further.
Ein eher einfacher Dystopieroman, der sich nicht mit Kleinigkeiten aufhält, wie jenen, wer jetzt hinter Nerve steckt. Die ganze Szenerie am Ende im Studio war mir viel zu übertrieben und langgezogen, da hätte ich stattdessen lieber ein paar Hintergrundinfos über Nerve gehabt.

Schönes Buch, nur leider fast gar nicht wie der Film. Es gibt interessante und krasse Stellen aber mir hätte es besser gefallen, wäre es wie der Film gewesen.

Leider muss ich echt sagen, dass das Buch mich total enttäuscht hat und der Film wirklich besser gestaltet ist. Das Ende mit ganz vielen offenen Fragen und Ungereimtheiten finde ich sehr unbefriedigend. Generell fand ich die Geschichte seeehr vollgepackt mit Ereignissen die hintereinander weg passieren, dass man gar nicht zum atmen kommt. Die Charaktere sind so offensichtlich und einfach gehalten, so stereotypisch leider, dass sie mich gar nicht fesseln konnten. Hierfür würde ich keine Leseempfehlung aussprechen.
Sehr sehr gutes Buch finde den Film aber ein tik besser kann ich aber trotzdem nur empfehlen.

nope this wasn't for me... bro I hated the main character. like vee can't you just decide if you want to participate in the games no matter what happens or what the task will be (because you know they can be really hard) or just don't participate from the beginning. arghh I really can't relate to her... like in the one second she is totally for the game just because of the prizes, but then she also talks about how shitty the tasks are and that she doesn't want to do the next task but when she sees the next prize she is like fuck it im gonna do it. It literally took guns for her realising she has to stop. Literally 15 min before winning everything what she earned through a whole evening of going through hell she wants to stop everything. She is so indecisive omg I hate it also there is this cliffhanger in the end like bro I went through this whole book and then that... I'm not going to read another book of this but I really want to know the story behind Ian The only good thing about this book is the idea of this gameshow this is fr the only thing that earns one star

Ich muss einfach wissen wie es weitergeht. Das Buch lässt sich sehr gut nebenbei Lesen. Die Handlungen lassen auch nicht besonders lange auf sich warten. Definitiv empfehlenswert.
Was war das für ein Ende ??? Was soll der scheiß? Tschuldigung so schreibe ich normalerweise nicht über ein Buch, aber das hat mich jetzt komplett verwirt. Ich kann nicht mehr..... Es gibt zwei Sterne, da das Buch an sich ganz gut war. Nur das Ende war halt...... Ich formuliere es mal nett... komisch.
Es kommt wirklich sehr selten vor, dass ich das sage, aber hier hat mir die Verfilmung besser gefallen als die Buchversion. Auch wenn sich Buch und Film nur bei den Charakteren (zum Teil) und bei der Idee gleichen, hatte ich das Gefühl, dass der Film die Botschaft der Geschichte besser transportiert als das Buch.
Ich habe es extra gelesen bevor der Film raus kam. Mir hat es ganz gut gefallen es war sehr spannend, aber trotzdem war es ganz anders als der Film und der Film hat mir letztendlich viel besser gefallen.
