House of War and Bone is the second Book in Leia Stone's series Gilded City. The books should definitely be read in order, because this continues right after the first book's events. "I'm an old fae, Nightling. I've seen countless souls come through my weigh station. Never before have I met one so selfless." Fallon accidentally swapped Powers with Ariyon - who is now trapped in the land of the souls with her dark powers. Fallon is suddenly thrown into the role of Maven healer - something utterly different from her own powers. The healing powers only amplify the goodness of her character and she gets to understand why Ariyon can't help himself and heal other people - no matter if it takes time off of his own life. Ariyon on the other hand gets to experience what Fallon has to fight every day. He has to use his anger, he usually keeps on a tight leash to survive the nightlings and their cruel fighting competitions. House of War and Bone was a bit darker than the previous Book. We learn more about the dark history of the Fae and how the nightlings came to be. I couldn't put it down and had to read it in one sitting - there were so many interesting events and new things to uncover! The interactions between Fallon and Yaric were my favorite by far! Yaric is one funny raven. The book ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait for the next book!
