A wonderful, heartrending story of two women in 19th century rural China. I found it hugely entertaining and was fascinated by the vibrant description of the culture, even if some of its elements, such as the status of women and footbinding, are quite horrible. A book about friendship, forgiveness and destiny. Don't miss it!
