yuck that was trash. must read more this series reads like something that was published on Wattpad in 2012, ngl i read a comment under a review here on GR that said "this trilogy has mediocre writing at best, a plot that doesn't really make sense (mafia and sports should never be mentioned in the same sentence), and an unnecessary amount of violence but it's addictive and really i love it because I'm a slut for the found family trope" and i think that rounds it up perfectly. everytime i read a book like this i feel like thor in the first thor movie drinking beer (?) saying "this drink, i like it. ANOTHER!" just change ist to: "this book. it's trash. ANOTHER!" i really love reading books like this cuz u don't need any brain for it. when you have to read books that use up every single braincell for university then books like aftg are a GIFT i don't know how nora does it but the way she writes Neil's anxiety gave me anxiety just by reading it. that made the book so much more thrilling

Life doesn't care what we want out of it; it's up to us to fight for what we want with everything we've got. The Foxes are back on track. After a tragic death and a crushing defeat against the Ravens, probably the best Exy team in the US, they are desperately trying to earn back some of their reputations. But with Riko right on Neils's sleeves, he feels the need to run and abandon the Foxes as much as he feels the need to stay by their side. Only Andrew keeping his promise gives him the strength to keep being the striker they need. And Riko doesn't seem to care to much about his sudden appearance on the big screens. But for how long? Urgh, these books. I am living for all the feels. I am living for all the broken teenagers that are just trying to fix each other. There is a lot more action in this book and I am living for the writing style! I am sorry for all the quotes that didn't get the top spot this time. I am living dor a certain relationship, no spoilers coming tho. But: major content ahead guys, I probably had a heart attack towards the end of the book so be prepared for some TW (rape/ assault). I am so excited to read the last book while being so sad that this series is going to come to an end. Go Foxes.

I was not prepared for this massive clusterfuck. I love all of these traumatized characters so much and am so heartbroken this series has remained on my TBR so long. I should've picked it up years ago. No time to type out a long review, I need to start the next book. (Ps: this book needs a trigger warning ⚠️)

The one person standing in their way is Andrew, and the only one who can break through his personal barriers is Neil. Except Andrew doesn't give up anything for free and Neil is terrible at trusting anyone but himself. The two don't have much time to come to terms with their situation before outside forces start tearing them apart. Riko is intent on destroying Neil's fragile new life, and the Foxes have just become collateral damage. Neil's days are numbered, but he's learning the hard way to go down fighting for what he believes in, and Neil believes in Andrew even if Andrew won't believe in himself. 🥰

I’m having a hard time rating this as something like standalone book, as it simply feels like part 2 of all for the game and probably wouldn’t stand on its own without having “The Foxhole Court” as predecessor – and that is perfectly fine. Everything I stated in the review for #1 still applies here: The banter – immaculate, the characters have depth, edges and scars and issue and I love them for it, the plot picks up here, yet still it feels a bit compressed in terms of setting, which works for the book just fine. The confines of the team, their usual stages and spots permanently confront the reader with this misfit group of outcasts – and slowly allows peaks behind the performances and smoke and mirror facades all of them sport. The reader gets to know more of the team now, is taken on the journey to some of their pasts and some demons that followed into the present. Please check the TW before you read this, it is significantly darker than “The Foxhole Court” and the violence picks up a notch (physical and psychological). I’m completely immersed in this world orbiting a fictional sport, I still very much want to play (actually sounds like the sport for *made* for me, to be honest), and we do get a bit more intel on the rules and regulations in this one (check the end of the book if you need more info). Maybe I’ll be able to properly review this when I’m done with the series but for now this is all I can say: Feels like chapter 2 of the story, so will be rated as such.

This series has me literally in a chokehold. A bunch of crazy kids with a lotttttt of problems. But I love it. And I have to apologize for my review of the first book. I was another person back then lmao. No, but really, I thought Andriel was not canon and I was a bit frustrated, but it apparently is ♥ The story is so good and I really care for these characters. I took them into my heart.

Phew, it's still difficult to rate this book. I would like to give it more stars because the characters have grown on me. Not all of them, but some. Why is it still only three? Many things are too extreme for me in the way that they are not addressed enough, or the readers are warned properly. The book would need a long list of content warnings an explicit talk about dysfunctional relationships and so on. There should also be instructions on how to get help if you experience bad things yourself. The writing style continues to be very nice and I'm super excited to see more character development. I would just like to see more responsibility towards the readers. I'm still waiting for my physical books, maybe there's more in them - that would be welcome. You can write fucked-up shit, but you should point out certain things.

Believe me when I say, reading this series, even though I struggled with reading in english a lot in the beginning, was one of the best decisions ever. This is one of the best book series I’ve ever read. And it’s impossible to write a normal book review about it, because there never will be words enough to explain this. The characters are broken, but also full of life. And the story is fucked up, crazy, unbelievable, but still the writer does her job so well that I always think, that everything is logical and natural. Like… it’s normal life. Even though it isn’t. During the last 10 pages I cried my eyes out. And I don’t do that often while reading. Just one more book to go and I am already scared for it to end. I’m fine.
