I really liked the audiobook for this one! There is the podcast part which is delivered very well through the audio and I would definitely recommend the audiobook! Story-wise, I thought it was a little slow in the beginning since it felt a little too much like a legal thriller instead of what I was expecting - hence I'd probably lean more towards a 4,5-star rating. But having the two stories run parallel to each other definitely made it more interesting! I just would have wished for the stories to connect more than they did in the end. I could go into detail about this, but I want to avoid spoilers so I'll leave it at that. Please be aware of the trigger warnings though - towards the end it does get pretty graphic and was quite hard to stomach at times.

Das Buch hat mich unglaublich schnell in seinen Bann gezogen. Nicht nur wegen der Küstenstadt-Vibes, sondern auch wegen der zwei Geschichten, die sich parallel entfaltet haben. In Kombination mit dem Podcast war das eine sehr interessante Mischung. Es war zwar leicht zu lesen, inhaltlich aber trotzdem ganz schön heavy: Vergewaltigung, Gewalt,… keine leichten Themen. Trotzdem: Atmosphärisch, spannend, berührend. Nur der Titel passt für mich so gar nicht.

TW: sexual assault, rape, abuse, victim blaming This was an incredibly hard book to read. This book doesn't hold back and is sometimes very descriptive in its portrayal, so DEFINITELY be aware of the TWs before you consider reading this book! Nevertheless, I think this is an important book to read. I listened to the audiobook, and I really liked the incorporation of the "podcast episodes"!

4.5* Ein spannender Thriller der wichtige Themen behandelt. Es sind zwei Fälle die parallel laufen. In der Gegenwart verfolgt Rachel in ihrem Podcast das Gerichtsverfahren von einem Vergewaltigungsfall und gleichzeitg erfähr man über Briefe die ihr jemand schreibt von einem Mord an einer Teenagerin der niemals aufgeklärt wurde. Beide Fälle sind interessant und es werden wichtig Themen beleuchtet, beispielsweise wie schwer es für Opfer sein kann durch so ein Verfahren zu gehen und wie schnell den Opfern die Schuld gegeben wird. Mir haben auch die Podcast-Elemente super gefallen und das Hörbuch ist super gemacht. Das Ende war für meinen Geschmack etwas zu dramatisch, auch die Sache mit den Briefen hat sich etwas lange gezogen, doch es sind nur kleine Kritikpunkte. Ich würde auf jeden Fall auch gerne noch mehr Bücher rund um Rachel und ihren Podcast lesen/hören.
