⤷‧₊˚2 ⭑ “that was my first lession in war: everyone loses, even the victors.” what the hell happened? the first was actually pretty good but what was that? so disappointing, except the bond between the mc’s. it was here so much better written then in pestilence but still was the book not that good at the end i kinda just skimmt through the book.
I guess he is my least favorite Horsemen .. still a good story but i did not catch me as the other Books of the series
I'm a little conflicted on how to properly rate this second book in the horsemen series. It felt a bit like "read that before", as of course the basic principle is the same as in the first book. I did like the scenery change, I enjoyed the main characters more than I did in "Pestilence" but at times it was very repetitive. They start to get along, she is witness to something (expectable, yet brutal), she tries to flee, he catches her... repeat. It would have been more enjoyable to me, if it had been cut short by about 200 pages, as not much would have been missed. The trope itself leading up to their ending ... uff, still not my cup of tea. (If anyone knows if this is the same for books 3 and 4 I'd actually appreciate a warning.
Can't really give a good review of either of this book or the series, because I didn't really like the whole we killed your loved ones idea (by default) and still you fall in love with us. But it was entertaining enough and very well written that I still read them all.
Did I just read the second book on one sitting? Yes. And man, was this a story. Slightly better then Pestilence. Again it's a balance between romance, philosophy and faith. While Pestilence was quite naive regarding humans, War is all about humans and understand their costumes and behaviour as can be seen by the steamy sexy scenes in the book. Miriam pulled me so deep into her heart from the first page. Her spark. Her fire. Her bravery. She was strong. She was brave. And she spoke to me. Loud and clear. And I loved every moment in her head. War was at the beginning an asshole and annoying. This wife shit drove my crazy, on the other hand he learns his way and I was more and more spellbound by him. And yeah... The

Amazing second adaption to the Horseman series!! War is so different from his brother Pestilence and and absolute book boyfriend! This man could get it !!
