Re-read for Wizarding World Book Club @ Pottermore Fantastic finale of the original series around Harry’s school years. Compared to the last instalments this one picked up pace again and was much better to read. The suspense and emotion held me glued to the pages, wishing to read faster than the book club schedule.

Damals in 2007 campierte eine ganze Generation mit Umhängen, Spitzhüten und Zauberstäben verkleidet vor deutschen Bücherläden und wartete auf Punkt 0 Uhr. Wartete darauf, dass sich die Türen der Läden öffneten und man endlich den lang ersehnten letzten Teil, den Abschluss einer langen Reise des Helden, der zusammen mit seinen beiden besten Freund:innen so viele Menschen beim Heranwachsen begleitete, in den Händen halten konnte. Ich selbst war damals die kleine Schwester, die weder nachts vorm Buchladen warten, noch den letzten Harry Potter Teil direkt lesen durfte. Mein Bruder kaufte sich damals das Buch und versprach mir, dass ich es Lesen durfte, wenn er fertig war. Und das dauerte eine gefühlte Ewigkeit! Heute habe ich den Teil zum keine Ahnung wie vielen Mal gelesen und damit die Reihe zum keine Ahnung wie vielen Mal abgeschlossen, doch jedes einzelne Mal fühlt es sich so an als würde ich erneut meiner Kindheit Lebewohl sagen. Und genau deshalb, weil diese Buchreihe meine Kindheit so prägte, werde ich sie immer und immer wieder lesen. Weil es damals meine Flucht aus der Realität war, mir die Freude am Lesen erhielt und mir so viele fantastische Abenteuer bescherte. Harry Potter in die Heiligtümer des Todes ist ein krönenden Abschluss und war wieder wundervoll zu lesen.

I've detested the movie for the longest time. I've hated the focus on action and the characters were all too old since the shooting dragged on too long. The book however is exactly what i've always wanted and expected the last episode to be. It still has it gentle and intimate moments between characters. The fighting is the lesser part and the focus is more on finding how to solve this instead of running from A to B. While i still dislike the content itself, it is a great book. I love the parts of harry potter that are all cosy and discovery. I dislike the parts that involve any part of death. I am really impressed by how well the movies were executed based on the books. All the scenes were kept veeeery close to them. Cosy side quest elements were omitted and i will continue to rewatch the first 4 movies. This was a long coming quest for me and i finally finished them all. This is my childhood universe and i still enjoy it as an adult with a fresh perspective from the point of view of the books.

Als er in den Beiwagen von Hagrids Motorrad steigt und in die Lüfte aufsteigt und den Ligusterweg zum letzten Mal verlässt, weiß Harry Potter, dass Lord Voldemort und die Todesser nicht weit entfernt sind. Der Schutzzauber, der Harry bis jetzt beschützt hat, ist gebrochen, aber er kann sich nicht länger verstecken. Der Dunkle Lord haucht allem, was Harry liebt, Angst ein, und um ihn aufzuhalten, muss Harry die verbleibenden Horkruxe finden und zerstören. Die letzte Schlacht muss beginnen – Harry muss sich seinem Feind stellen.💜

Obwohl aus diesem Buch zwei Filme entstanden sind, gab es so viel Unbekanntes, das ich entdecken durfte. Viele Zeitungsartikel und das Buch von Rita haben mich Dumbledores Geschichte erkunden und gleichzeitig ihn und die jeweiligen Verfasser in Frage stellen lassen. Es gab so viel über die Horkruxe zu lernen und Kreacher’s emotionale Geschichte zu entdecken. Ich habe den kleinen missmutige Elfen sehr in mein Herz geschlossen. Das Buch hatte in der ersten Hälfte ein paar Längen, die sich aber gewollt angefühlt haben. Als sollte sich die Zeit ziehen und ich mich fragen, ob sie die Horkruxe je finden und zerstören werden. Die Kreativität und Komplexität der Geschichte hat mich immer wieder staunen lassen. All die Twists und Verstrickungen haben stets die Spannung gehalten. Und während all der Tragik und Kämpfe war sich die Autorin nicht zu schade geliebte Figuren zu opfern. Ob es einem das Herz zerrissen hat oder nicht. Denn Krieg erfordert immer Opfer. Das Finale war im Buch zwar besser erklärt, hat mir im Film aber besser gefallen. Der richtige Showdown hat ein wenig gefehlt. Ein sehr gelungener Abschluss einer Reihe mit einer unglaublich kreativen Welt und unvergesslichen Charakteren. Manche Geschichten werden für immer in meinen Gedanken und meinem Herzen bleiben. Das ist eine davon.

Ich vergesse immer wieder, wie schwer das letzte Buch für einen Empathen ist. Dark Academia trifft auf Fantasy. Wenn man die ersten Bücher noch in die Kategorie Kinderbuch einordnen kann, sind die letzten definitiv viel tiefgründiger und düsterer. Obwohl ich die Geschichte in- und auswendig kenne, habe ich mir die Augen ausgeweint... Man kann über die Autorin denken, was man will, aber sie hat eine Welt geschaffen, mit der ich aufgewachsen bin und in der ich mich zu Hause fühle. Einen Punkt habe ich noch, ich finde es schade, dass die wunderbare Beziehung zwischen Harry und Ginny überhaupt nicht so in den Filmen gezeigt wird, wie in den Büchern. Das hatte so viel Potential. Ansonsten hoffe ich, nicht in eine Leseflaute zu geraten, denn "Hogwarts is my home"!🕯🍂⚡️🦉 An alle, die es nur auf Deutsch gelesen haben. Lest es unbedingt noch einmal in der Originalsprache. Es macht unglaublich viel Spaß. 5+/5 ⭐️

So eine wahnsinnig gute Serie, ich kann wirklich jedem nur Recht geben! Es war eine tolle, so gut durchdachte Geschichte und die Welt und ihre Charakter waren einfach nur wundervoll. Ich bin verliebt! Meiner Meinung nach war dieses Buch das Action-reichste der Serie, es gab immer wieder Wendungen und Überraschungen und das Pacing fand ich super. Auch wie alle Fragen der vorherigen Bücher aufgelöst würden, fand ich super spannend. Generell kann ich sagen, dass die letzten beiden Bücher meine liebsten der Reihe waren! Harrys Charakterentwicklung war eins meiner liebsten Dinge im Buch. Von verunsichert und immer darauf wartend, dass jemand anderes das Ruder in die Hand nimmt hin zu wissen was zu tun ist und alles daran legen damit es auch so passiert. Aber auch Ron und Neville haben so eine tolle Entwicklung durchgemacht. Ich habe wirklich jeden Moment beim Lesen genossen und möchte jetzt eigentlich noch viel mehr über die Welt wissen.

Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love. 😍 Wow what a beautiful finish to this magical series! It was sad, emotional, dark and funny but also gripping and hopeful. I loved it! This was sadly my first time reading or else listening (to) it - but for sure it won't be my last time. 😁 Stephen Fry is still the best narrator for this series. His voice is just perfect and I loved to listen to him. Pure joy! 😍

I like the writing style of J.K.Rowling... it's very refreshing and I love it how the characters are developing through the whole HP series - it's great. For the last book, I was such a fan. Though I liked the fifht also very much, I guess this is one of my favorits. I liked that we got to know more about Voldemorts history and about Severus Snap and get to know why he did things, which we didn't understand before. And I love the idea that it the end it showed us, that he was on the good side all along and it was all a plan for the final fight. And also the progress Harry made and the twist in the story and the conclusions and how they solved everything in the end, was soo great. I couldn't really believe when I finished this book, that its really over. That make my heart sad. I love this series and I love this book. Great and original idea from Rowling - she did and awesome and amazing job with her books. and now a short sidekick to the things I didn't like so much: I dont love the end of the book - where Rowling showed us the world years after the final fight, and we got to now in a really really short way what happened to our heros. It was toooo short and left sooo many questions open, what happend during all the time to Harry, Ron, Hermione and all the others. I would have loved to read more about there future. But still 5 STARS for Harry :D Inhalt: Harry Potter steht diesmal vor einer gefährlichen und schier unlösbaren Aufgabe: er muss Voldemorts übrige Horcruxe finden und zerstören. Nie zuvor hat sich Harry so allein gefühlt, nie schien seine Zukunft so düster. Aber irgendwie muss Harry die Stärke in sich selbst finden, um diese Herausforderung zu meistern. (Quelle: Amazon) Meine Gedanken zum Buch: Ein würdiges Finale für diese atemberaubende, verzaubernde Bücherreihe voller Hoffnung, Ängste, Gefühle, Kinderreihen, Probleme des Erwachsenwerdens, Zuversicht, Trauer und Liebe…. Meiner Meinung nach ein Meisterwerk, in dem sich Rowling wieder einmal selbst übertroffen hat. Anfangs fing es zwar langsam an und für viele mag der Mitteil, in dem Hermine, Harry und Ron umher geirrt sind in Wäldern oder auf Felsvorsprüngen, um sich zu verstecken, langweilig und unnötig vorgekommen sein… aber ich denke dieser Teil war sehr wichtig für das Buch, um das Durchhaltevermögen der Protagonisten anschaulich zu zeigen, und um diese Trostlosigkeit als Leser wirklich nachvollziehen zu können, und das ist Rowling grandios geglückt. Umso aufregender war auch das Finale mit der Auffindung des letzten Horcruxes, die Auflösung der letzten Fragen und der alles entscheidende Kampf mit Voldemort…. Cover: Der Finale Kampf am Cover – wer möchte da nicht gleich anfangen zu lesen? Fazit: Ein grandioses Ende, dass ich mir fast nicht anders für meine liebgewonnen Charaktere hätte wünschen können. Fast allen geht es gut, alle haben gekämpft für ihre Freiheit, mit Zuversicht und viel Herz.

I've read all seven books so many times and I always loved them. There is so much good in these books, so much love, but with everything that JK Rowling said in the last couple of years I wasn't sure if I could still enjoy them just as much as I used too. So for the first time in probably five years I read them all back to back, and I still love them. They made December and Christmas so much better, but for probably the first time I realised how much is wrong in these books. Especially the lack of diversity and good female represenation (yes, Hermione is an awesome character but why are there only two types of women in those books and why aren't there more female friendships?) is something I never noticed. And it is bothering me a lot. I think if I read them now for the first time I wouldn't like them that much, but they gave me so much as a child and that is something JK Rowling can't take away.

Nur soviel: Es ist schon genial wie am Ende alle Fäden zusammenspielen und es ein grandioses Gesamtwerk ergibt. Nicht zu unrecht DIE Jugendfantasy-Reihe schlechthin, welche auch viele Menschen (wieder) zum Lesen brachte. Nach 15 Jahren für mich ein toller Re-Read ohne Schwächen! Es soll keine 15 Jahre dauern, da werde ich mit den von Rufus Beck eingesprochenen Hörbüchern ein drittes Mal in die fantastische Welt rund um Harry,Ron & Hermine eintauchen! PS: Mein Lieblingscharakter nach 7 Büchern >> Ginny ❤️

Wow... Anfangs dachte ich das dieses Buch das schlechteste aus der Teihe wird, aber mir wurde das Gegenteil bewiesen! Dieses Buch hat mich einige Nächte gekostet und auch mehrere Tränen. !Spoiler! Vorallem die vielen Tode geliebter Chataktere haben mich einige Nerven gekostet. Fred, Lupin, Tonks und, und, und... Nicht nur aus diesem Teil. Auch Sirius Tod hat mich sehr mitgenommen... !Spoiler Ende! ♡♡♡

Harry Potter - ja, wo soll ich anfangen? Mit viel Freunde und leider auch ein bisschen Trauer habe ich diesen „Reread“ jetzt beendet. Erstmal muss ich ein großes Lob für diesen wunderbaren Schreibstil, die überdachte Storyline und natürlich für die liebenswerten Charaktere aussprechen! Über die ganze Reihe gezogen, lernt man die Charaktere immer mehr kennen bis man sie schließlich voll und ganz in sein Herz geschlossen hat. Bei mir war es vor allem Ron, den ich am Anfang eher unsympathisch fand und dann immer mehr lieben gelernt habe. Aber mein Lieblingscharakter bleibt Hermione: Ich konnte mich von Anfang an mit ihr identifizieren und ihre Handlungen sehr gut nachvollziehen. Ich habe nur eine Kleinigkeit auszusetzen: Teilweise hätte ich mir gewünscht, wenn der Fokus auch ein bisschen mehr bei Hermione und Ron gelegen hätte, denn ohne Hermione an Harrys Seite, wäre er schon in Teil 1 gestorben und Ron ist so ein wunderbarer Freund, dessen Wichtigkeit man vielleicht ein bisschen mehr in den Vordergrund hätte rücken können. Natürlich liegt da schon ein gewisser Fokus, jedoch könnte man den evtl. noch etwas vertiefen. Meiner Meinung nach geht das teilweise etwas unter und Harrys Egoismus sticht etwas zu sehr raus. Harry Potter ist auf jeden Fall ein „Must Read“ für jeden einzelnen! An alle, die es noch nicht gelesen habe und natürlich auch an die, die es nochmal lesen wollen, sich aber nicht sicher sind, ob es ihnen gefällt: Lest es! Diese magische Welt zieht einen einfach in den Bann. Für jede Altersgruppe, für jedes Geschlecht und egal, ob ihr eigentlich eher ein anderes Genre lest oder generell kaum lest: Lest es einfach!

Of course, as with all Harry Poter books, I love this one so much. I have to say, I don't think it will ever be my favorite in a series, but I loved and enjoyed it nevertheless. Although we lost so many on the way, I think the ending makes up for it. I know, a lot of people consider this ending to be "too perfect", but honestly, my heart would not have born anything LESS perfect at that point. I sobbed so hard the last few chapters, so the epilog was just right for me (although I still sobbed, but kinda of joy this time).

Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows I think my resolution of the year would be to stop whining about my job and just live by what it has to offer instead and work my ass off here with all my readers and pals! Hi, How are you guys? I have bee avoiding writing/ reading books and just when it hit me- I ONLY READ 57 books, I was shattered. (Trust me it isn't a lot, at least not to the number of books I purchased this year.) Anywho. Here today we are talking about Deathly Hallows which I read 2 months back. I AM WAAYYYY TOO SLOWWW. I am a snail and I have got to recollect my thoughts as to talk about the book not that people don't know what the book is, or have read reviews about it already? haha! It is taken for granted that everyone and anyone know about Harry Potter and people who don't like Harry Potter- well, I don't want to know you, people. Oh-- I am a Slytherin-- So you know if you disagree with me or anything else.......I don't want to put it into words but BAD Things can happen. Wheeeeeere do I even start with this? WHERE. Controversial statement. I love this book, I do. I love Harry Potter but I didn't like this book as much as Goblet of fire. Even though it has more of Dumbledore, one person we all want to know more about. Yet. I kind of have some issues, not a lot but some- I gave it 5 stars, clearly, those issues aren't a big deal. xD But because I am not going to stop whining until I speak of them..so. MY ISSUES, MY WRATH, THE REASON WHICH IS WHY I WAS SO SLOW. I just like to be dramatic with my headlines. THE PACING. The pacing is ridiculous. Seriously, it was like oh now that we don’t have any homework and Draco bothering us with his petty issues, we will create some random problems and misleading adventures. NOT FUN, I was bored. I wanted to kill Voldemort in the first 5 pages itself. Yeah and then I would have cribbed about how small the book was. Maybe it’s not the author’s fault at all, maybe it’s me, maybe’s that’s who I am as a person! No wait, the pacing was slow anyhow picks up fine and then we go on a roller coaster ride for our life. HATE SLYTHERINS? Why are we the baddies always? yeah yeah, I know in the end Harry Potter defends us and all.. but has it changed anybody’s perception? Is there anyone from Slytherin who is good, who we consider good? Please do not talk about Snape to me. No. Other than that tell me! Tell me! Am I wrong? Huh? Don’t call me a baddie- I will come and slit your throat off and then laugh like Bellatrix. WHY IS DUMBELDORE SO SECRETIVE? I NEED MORE. I encourage good characters, with good storylines, with back stories with so much detail that we are able to have theories and all that. BUT, DUMBLEDORE? OH, MY GOD? You really can’t tell anything about him, do you? We respect him and all but do we really know him? Harry wasn’t alone in all of this, I was there with him too and I felt bad about all of it. I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT DUMBLEDORE, his life, his work, his secrets. That is one thing which wasn’t given to us properly and it bugs me as well as intrigues me, SO SO SO VERY MUCH. I will appreciate if I am given 10 volumes on Dumbledore asap. Thank you very much. OTHER CHARACTERS? I WANT MORE OF THEM. I wish and hope we had more of the twins. More of Ginny. More of Luna. More of Neville. Actually, more of other characters because they deserve it. (Low key demanding more pages in the book) HARRY IS A GRUMPY CAT. After book 5, Harry is so grumpy all the time, UUGGHHH- I dislike him more than Ron at times, Jesus. Anywho he is back to his normal self towards the end. I would have died if you wouldn’t have. MY LOVE, MY LIGHT, AND EVERYTHING ELSE GOOD. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENTS? OH MY GOD. THE PLOT TWIST? It’s clever. The revelations, the build it’s clever, honest and beautiful. THE DECEIT– And by that I mean the characters, the story the way J.K. Rowling wants us to think but then parallelly show goes like peek-a-boo. I was in awe of that. THE INTRICATE STORY BUILDING Who can build a world like that? Characters in depth like that? With not only just back stories but family history, place history and what not, we have everything (except Dumbledore and I are sure she has a lot of stories there to tell us). Clearly, a lot of time, effort and patience have gone in and I applaud it. THE CHARACTERS ARE GORGEOUS- EACH ONE OF THEM DESERVES A BOOK FOR THEMSELVES. Don’t you agree? We know so many of them and we know them as f we met them, that’s how brilliantly it is done. I AM A SADIST- BUT THE DEATHS <3- THEY ARE BOLD AND GOOD. I have read books, great books. What I have noticed is- until and unless we see death, we really do not appreciate the fight, the support and hard work we have put in. Until and unless we are made to think of what we have lost, it feels pointless. (Wow, I sound like a schmuck.) But don’t you agree? If everyone lived, every good character- what was even the point? And.. that’s all. Can there be something else to talk about? Everything is great, everything is awesome, everything makes sense. Only thing is I want more of this comforting world (It’s weird because in all the stories we are losing someone or the another and yet we find love, peace and comfort here.)
