“Forgetting is not the worst thing. Remembering is not the worst thing either. The worst thing is when you have forgotten, and then you remember. It catches you out.” I did not think this book would make me cry as it did or that it would mean as much to me as it does now. Suddenly I wish I had been better at journaling all my life and written things down to remember. I listened to scott street on repeat while reading this book and wow. the way it just works. I wasn’t immediately hooked and had a back and forth of putting the book down and picking it up again. It quickly grew on me and I ended up growing so attached to all the characters that showed up, the way the story progressed and the beautiful writing on each and every page. It’s not quite 5 stars…more of a 4.5 but I still loved it very much. I’m so glad this book was finished and I’m so glad I got to read it. I think it’s just what I needed for june.
