If you're looking for a romance novel, it's not the book. The romance was too sudden, and for me. But I really like the idea of the fictional town and characters and also the cozy vibe.

Well, I guess the reviews I read were somewhat accurate. I absolutely loved ‘The Seven Year Slip’ and ‘The Dead Romantics’ by this author, so I was hoping this book would be another easy five-star read. Unfortunately, I didn’t really connect with the characters or the story itself, and the middle part dragged a bit. But it got me thinking: If I could pick any book series to spend time in, would I choose Rebel Blue Ranch with its hot cowboys? Or would I pick the world of Throne of Glass—and probably not survive past the first day? But for just a glimpse of Rowan, it might be worth it 👀

The idea for this book was great but I just couldn’t get into it properly! I do think that a different audiobook narrator could have made me like this a little more but apart from that I thought the romance just felt a little off and also the „twist“ didn’t really deliver for me. I have heard a lot of good things about her other books thought so I will try again but definitely in the physical format to give these stories a proper chance!

Auch wenn viele nach The Seven Year Slip von diesem Buch enttäuscht waren habe ich es wider Erwartend komplett geliebt!💙 Dass die Protagonistin in der Stadt ihrer Lieblings-Buchreihe landet und dort Zeit verbringt war so schön mitzuerleben und hat einem Sehnsucht nach der eigenen Lieblingsreihe verliehen!🏡 Ashley Poston schafft es für mich von Buch zu Buch mich zu überzeugen und auch dieses Buch landet bei mir ganz weit oben!!⭐️

Nachdem ich The Seven Year Slip von der Autorin absolut geliebt habe, hat mich The Novel Love Story komplett enttäuscht… für mich war die Story voller kitschiger, künstlich platzierter Kalendersprüche, die zu gewollt wirken und auch der Plot war recht unaufgeregt und unspannend. Die Love Story habe ich überhaupt nicht gefühlt. Wirklich schade…

Die Geschichte hat sich total in die Länge gezogen wobei kaum etwas passiert, und nach 50% habe ich es einfach nur noch überflogen. Es gab keine Chemie zwischen den Charakteren und Elsie wurde irgendwie immer nerviger. Über Anders erfährt man kaum was, außer dass er mint-grüne Augen hat 😵‍💫 „The Seven year Slip“ war so ein wundervolles Buch aber dieses leider garnicht. Ich hoffe „the dead Romantic“ wird besser

Liebe die Bücher von Ashley Poston eigentlich sehr und hatte das hier schon soooo lange auf der Wunschliste jetzt. Liebe das Cover sehr und hatte extrem hohe Erwartungen und Vorfreude. Dem wurde das Buch leider nicht gerecht :( Die Idee an sich ist super süß, aber leider hat das Ende mich nicht überzeugt. Spoiler ‼️: Fand es total doof, dass Anders sich von Beatrice so „den Kopf verdrehen lassen hat“, obwohl er kurz davor noch sicher war, mit Eileen zurück zu gehen. Das hatte sie nicht verdient und es kam mir so vor, als war sie danach nur zweite Wahl…

a book that tastes to me like salted caramel. sweetened by the romance and salted by the angst. a novel love story is a sugary sweet romance novel with lovely protagonists and emotional scenes that are bound to tug at your heartstrings. it follows the story of eileen who is on her way to her annual bookclub retreat when she gets lost on her way there and finds herself in the imaginary town of her favorite romance novels. eileen as the protagonist was written real in her bahaviour and i was able to find myself in her thinking and acting. the way she seeks escapism and love in books felt so incredibly relatable. and her desire to mingle with her favorite characters lives had me throw my hands up in despair at first but in all honesty i would act the same way and i truly believe most people would. because, come opn, who would not want to meet some of their favorite characters and have a chat with them... i certainly would. ahsley poston's writing felt like a warm cup of sweet tea on a rainy day to me and it was clear as melting sugar that she absolutely loves writing books and reading them. a novel love story read like a love letter from ashley poston to books. and poston writing about favorite books has turned her book into one of my favorite ones... i practically ran to buy her other two romance (supernatural) books.

4,5 ⭐️ das Buch wird nicht für jeden was sein, weil es so von Vibes und Charakteren lebt und nicht so sehr von Handlung!! Die Romance war jetzt gar nicht so meine liebste aber der Schreibstil, das ganze Konzept, die small town vibes, die Charaktere - alles daran hat für mich einfach Spaß gemacht und vor allem habe ich mich total in das Buch gesogen gefühlt und war komplett aus meinem Leben raus. Und was will ich mehr von einem Buch?

a novel love story ashley honey, what was that?? this book wasn't totally bad. I loved the idea of escaping to your favorite novel series, that will forever remain unfinished (in this case, because the author passed aways), and helping the characters in there to turn the pages of their lives themselves. the town of Eloraton seemed well thought out, with many knicks and knacks and cute moments. but as for a love story, this book really fell flat for me. Elsy and Anders barely spent any time together as Elsy is super busy helping out the town folk. all we know about Anders is that he has MiNtY grEEn EyEeeSS, smells like tea and has golden hair (and this is repeated a gazillion times). there was no build up, no chemistry, nothing. and for me, the book would have been fine without a romance, but the happy romantic ending and the smutty scenes forced into the story made it impossible to ignore that this is supposed to be, well, a love story. and it's safe to say that out of the three Ashley Poston novels I have read so far, this is my least favorite novel...

Eine absolut einzigartige Geschichte. Perfekt für alle die sich schon einmal gewünscht haben ein paar Tage in ihrer Lieblingsbuchreihe zu verbringen. Der mittlere Teil hat sich für mich etwas gezogen, aber die letzten Kapitel haben mich dann wieder komplett überzeugt. Es war die perfekte Mischung aus emotional/berührend und lustig/unbeschwert. Ein totales Wohlfühlbuch.
