Lilo have my heart ❤️
4,75⭐️ just bc i know there’s a build up and I’ll probably need to rate the next books in the series higher
Magnolia Parks x Addiction
While it did take me a little to actually get into the story and the miscommunication in the beginning pissed me the f off, I ended up really liking it! The vibe this gave me was close to the one Magnolia Parks did, as the characters had similar chemistry, plus the setting was close with it being high society-ish. What I really liked about this, was the fact that it showed how much addiction affects the people around you. While the characters didn’t actually think that their addiction did, the reader sure got a feeling for it. So all in all this definitely pulled me in and I want to continue the series, but continuing it will not be my highest priority.
This book is about two childhood friends who are addicts ( lily to sex and lo to alcohol) and are in a fake relationship. They eventually start dating and realize they are enabling each other’s addictions. Struggling to figure out if their love is enough to make it through their addiction.
I don’t know if I really liked this book. It was really interesting to read about someone being addicted to sex and to alcohol. It really shows throughout the book how addiction affects your life. With lily and lo it was affected their family, their ability to make friends, their grades in school, and their perception of themselves. The MC (main characters) were not relatable at all. It shocked me so many times I realized they were going through their addictions and were not even 21 yet. Also when I realized how incredibly wealthy they both were. It really gives a glance at a wealthy lifestyle that they both throw away. I do love lily and Lo as MC but most of the time their actions irritated me. I just had to remind myself they’re addicted to a vice and have no real control of their actions. The ending had a small plot twist that explained so much. I love how lily and her sisters relationship evolved throughout the book and was able to help her with her addiction the same way lo’s brother helped him. One thing that really struck with me is why lo is an alcoholic. He says in the book it’s because “he can” because it doesn’t affect the people around him, it doesn’t affect a job, and he’s not hurting anyone by being one. It just made me realize Rich people really don’t have any problems so they create them. Of course lo has a rough childhood and a bad relationship with his father but even the way he’s still able to be an alcoholic just because he can is beyond me. Lily never specified why she has a sex addiction but does mention the stigma around women watching porn and having one night stands. I completely agreed with her. It’s viewed as “okay” and “normal” for guys to do it but “not normal” or “gross” for women to do it. It’s an unrealistic double standard because sex is human nature. She obviously ha an addiction and did more than the average person but she did have a point. The ending was good. They both decided to get the help they need away for each other so they wouldn’t enable each other. They were not good for each other but at the same time the only people who would understand what they’re going through was each other. I do think that if they had the same addiction it would have been worse. Overall, It was a really interesting book and it has good moments, but not my favorite. I rated it a 3/5 because the MC annoyed me so much. Favorite quotes from the book: “Loren Hale fucks better” “I want to be enough for you” “Girls can be mean sometimes” “guys can be mean too” “Monogamy scares me more than anything” ““You don’t need a guy to fulfill you” I wish I could remember that.” “ I’m dirty….you don’t want me” “Wait for me…..I need you to wait for me lil”
4/5⭐️ this book took me months to read—actually only the first 70% of the book because i practically flew through the last 30%!! i really can’t explain why the first 70% took me so long because i liked the story and the characters. i guess i just wasn’t completely invested in the story. but when i got to the last 30% i could not stop reading. it got so interesting and these characters are so addicting—i need more of them and i feel like i won’t ever get enough. so i immediately bought the third and fourth book in this series (because I already own and started ricochet) and i can’t WAIT to read these!!!
Not me crying my eyes out right now
this book took me completely by surprise! But don’t be fooled: It‘s not a love story, but more a story about 2 addicts and their intertwined journeys
CAN‘T WAIT FOR THE NEXT PART!! I LOVE THE CHARACTERS!!
2/5 DNF’d at 25% because it was too much for me, like actuallllly messed. Then I listened to some reviews and decided to finish it for the friendship. Wouldn’t personally recommend as a girl who likes closed door, because this is anything but that, but the writing was easy to read and a plot I haven’t heard.
Upon reread my rating is a 4.5
War okay guilty pleasure halt
Never even coming close to gossip girl
DNF 22% too much talk about sex lol & ich bekomm anger issues von den familien dynamiken
Wow wow wow wow!!

What did I read?
This men loves her more than his life
I absolutely loved it. <3 There wasn‘t a single boring moment in this book. (If you consider reading this please check trigger warnings.)
anywhere between 2 and 2.5 stars, i am really unsure about this book. i really wanted to love this book. i EXPECTED to love this book, because everybody seems to love it. but for some reason, this didn't do it for me. the plot idea was really interesting and sounded good to me. but i hated lilly and lo's relationship. i wasn't feeling their chemistry. i wasn't enjoying the smut because they just had like zero chemistry. no connection. where's the flavor? i usually LOVE the friends-to-lovers trope but they didn't seem to have a good friendship. everything about this was just so weird. also, the whole point of the first half of the book was them not being able to communicate properly (for 6 years!!). hated this! them coming together and stop fake-dating was sooo unromantic and odd. the development of the plot was so random. the side characters were so random (i really liked rose and colin tho) and nothing made sense to me. especially the whole ryke-thing was pissing me off. the ending definitely made it better because finally some tea was spilled and more drama was happening. also the aspect that lo finally decided to go to rehab was refreshing. conclusion: i didn't like this book. the ending made it better. hated the relationship between lilly and lo. it was toxic, but not in a nerve-racking and thrilling but in a really annoying way. however, i will read the other books in the addicted/calloway-sisters series because i sincerely hope that this gets better. i don't wanna judge the whole series based on one book. there has to be something about it that makes people love it so much. i always trust steph bohrer and larry reads with their book recs, so i will give it another chance.
💔ADDICTED TO YOU💔 She's addicted to sex. He's addicted to booze... The ONLY way out is ROCK BOTTOM Such a rollercoaster story of childhood friends to lovers with some other REALLY bad habits included. Very much reminded me of gossip girl, especially with the friend group building and turning into FAMILY. A beautiful start to an EPIC series!!! Eventhough the topics are some kind of rough, Krista and Becca handle them all very well and give an excellent view for the readers to understand and feel attached to the characters' addictions. 4 out of 5 stars 🌟 💔ADDICTED TO YOU💔
Had me crying
I really love this book but it was just missing something idk. I’ll definitely continue the series and I would recommend it to everyone, but yeah like I said: it wasn’t quite a 5 star read for me
