Okay HOLY GUACAMOLY WHAT WAS THAT?! I have already been madly in love with the first "Sisters Of The Salt" book. And I can only give the same verdict to this one as well! House Of Roots And Ruin was absolutely brilliant from start to finish, dealing with stories about perfectionism and the repercussions of unresolved family trauma. Plus, again it had some very unsettling elements to it, that spooked me in just the right way! Hopefully we will be able to read of the Thaumas sisters again soon because I am already deeply missing them and their odd yet vast world.

Schon der erste Band der Reihe hat mir super gefallen. Hier geht es um die jüngste, Verity. Im ersten Teil war sie noch sehr jung, jetzt ist sie erwachsen. Eines Abends flieht sie in das Nachbar Land Bloem, nachdem sie sich mit ihrer Schwester Camille gestritten hat. Bei der regierenden Familie soll sie ein Porträt des Erben und Sohn zeichnen. Schon bald kommen Gefühle zwischen den beiden auf. Doch Verity hütet ein großes Geheimnis, genauso wie der Hausherr… Toller leichter Schreibstil, sehr einnehmend. Mir war das Buch leider etwas zu lang, der erste Band war da besser. Storyline war aber richtig gut!
