I adored this book. It’s cute, wholesome, and yes, undeniably basic, but I still fell head over heels for the romance. And Charlie? Don‘t even get me started. This man had me kicking my feet and giggling the whole time. That being said, the FMC’s sister nearly made me yeet the book out the window. I genuinely can’t handle how irritating and insensitive a character can be. The constant miscommunication and immature drama between the sisters got exhausting fast. Still, despite all that chaos, the romance totally made up for it. 4,5⭐️

Das war definitiv eine cute romance und ich hatte meinen Spaß, aber irgendwie hab ich viel mehr erwartet. Vor allem, weil die Romane von Emily Henry so gehypt sind und Neuerscheinungen schon eeewig im voraus angekündigt und stark vorbestellt werden. Deshalb hatte ich tatsächlich irgendwas Außergewöhnliches erwartet, aber das hier ist einfach "nur" eine süße, seichte Liebesgeschichte zwischen zwei Erwachsenen. Ohne großes Drama, ohne lebensverändernde Überraschungen. Das läuft alles locker flockig vor sich hin und man hat eine schöne Zeit. Animiert mich jetzt nicht direkt dazu, alles weitere von Henry zu lesen, aber bin auch nicht vollständig abgeneigt.

Man, I was not expecting to love this book so much. I didn't really enjoy "People we meet on Vacation" or "Beach Read" that much so my expectations were very low. But this book set the bar so high that I am now re-reading "People we meet..." just to see if I was dumb back then.( Turns out People we meet just isn't for me) From the Prologue on I was captivated by the story. I immediately loved Nora as a main character. She intrigued me and I wanted to know more about her story and why she is the way that she is. Nora is a very layered character and the way she loved New York made me want to go there and experience the same things she did. Nora is one of the few female MC i actually can relate to and I actually like her lol. Charlie, oh Charlie Lastra. This man has me wrapped around his finger. He was understanding, caring and witty and we love him for that. He matched Noras energy, always ready to counter her arguments and I practically highlighted every word he said. Nora and Charlie fit together perfectly. They compliment each other and make each other grow. And they aren't boring or overly cheesy. Sure, there might have been a cheesy line or two, but they gave what they needed to give. I had butterflies reading this. The book was written so well. I loved not only seeing Charlie and Noras relationship but aspects of their job, their families friends and clients. This book was so well rounded in my opinion. I am a sucker for some witty banter and sarcasm and this book DELIVERED.

In the beginning it was hard for me to dive into the story, which also made it difficult to connect with the characters. The story was kinda slow and i felt like that nothing happens. The end was worth it. I love People we meet on vacation and Beach Read but this Emily Henry book was sadly nothing for me.

I ENJOYED THIS SO MUCH Honestly didn’t know I’m a romance girly until now so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more of those Now, I loved this plot, I mean, New Yorker sissy’s having a one-month getaway in a small town following a check-list with sweet little prompts they want to do to live out the most cliché rom-com experience? Ich liebe es 💗☀️ Eigentlich dachte ich zu Beginn, dass dieses Buch mich gar nicht catchen wird aber falsch gedacht. Es war super lustig und auch tiefgründig. Ich habe Libby so sehr ins Herz geschlossen aber auch unsere Protagonisten sind einfach zwei Herzensmenschen 🩷🥺 super Buch, um kurz in eine andere Welt einzutauchen und ich wünschte, dieser Ort würde wirklich existieren 🏡⛰️

Ein sehr gelungenes "Enemies to Lovers" RomCom Buch! Sehr flüssig und angenehm zu lesen- mit Humor, aber auch tiefgründigeren Momenten & außerdem sehr sympathischen Charakteren (wir mögen Charlie 😍). Neben der Liebesgeschichte hat mir auch gefallen, dass man Einblicke in die Arbeit mit Büchern bekommt.

At first it was hard to get into the story not gonna lie... exciting things didn't happen until the second half I couldn't connect with the characters throughout the whole book (especially Charlie was a hard one) However the second half l made up the tough start and l wasn't the "classic small town romance" wich made me curious about the other books of her!

Due to the fact that the main male character was an entitled, rude seemingly typical career asshole kind of guy in the first chapter and I knew he was going to be the love interest, I didn't enjoy the the first chapter very much. How was I going to read yet another book where the female lead (Nora) would throw out all her standards for a mediocre at best guy who believed the world was turning around him? I was relieved to find a three year gap between the first and second chapter in which the Nora gained much confidence and power which ended in making their dynamic more interesting. After getting into the book I ended up really liking both characters and their relationship with each other. I also enjoyed the heavy focus on the relationship between Nora and her sister. The only thing that all characters were lacking a bit, I felt, was emotional intelligence but I guess if they knew how to deal with their issues a bit better it wouldn't make a very interesting book. Definitely a really nice and easy read which I really enjoyed and I was rooting for all main characters in the end! Left me feeling quite happy and I didn't want it to end!

Das war eine tolle Wohlfühlgeschichte! Ich mochte Nora und Charlie sehr. Besonders gut fand ich aber die Beziehung der beiden Schwestern. Allerdings hätte das Buch etwas diverser sein können und einige Sachen waren mir zu konstruiert (Noras Handy klingelt immer zum möglichst falschen Zeitpunkt). Deshalb habe ich einen Stern abgezogen.

Die ersten 100 Seiten haben es mir etwas schwierig gemacht. Ich kam nicht richtig in die Geschichte rein und fand es eher langweilig. Doch dann wurde es besser und ich immer neugieriger, wie es weitergeht. 😍 Auch die Protagonisten habe ich sehr geliebt, in Nora habe ich einen Teil von mir wiedererkannt und Charlie ist einfach viel zu süß. 🫶🏼 Book Lovers ist eine sehr inspirierende und Mut-machende Geschichte über Verlust, Familie, Träume, Kontrolle und die Hoffnung, dass am Ende eben doch alles so kommt, wie es soll. Das Ende habe ich absolut geliebt & mehrfach geweint. Mein Herz ist echt erfüllt gerade. 🥹❤️‍🩹

Ich persönlich, bin die Frau ohne Kinder, aber das jüngere einer Alleinerziehenden Mutter. Für mich war das Buch fantastisch, zu lesen, wie schwierige Zeiten der Protagonisten unterschiedlich wahr genommen werden. Ich habe mich selbst in so vielen Abschnitten wieder erkennen können und es war mir wirklich eine Freude, die zwei Frauen auf ihrem Weg zu begleiten. Ein toller, flüssiger Schreibstil, der mir sehr zugesagt hat. Ich war immer mit Herz dabei, bei jedem Gefühl. Gerne mehr!

Her books just hit on a different level. They feels so real it's creepy and lovely at the same time. Loved this story about Nora and Charly and how you can love a city so much. I loved that the ending was not the Hallmark ending but the real one. Tropes: small town romance, haters to lovers, sister bond, bucket lists

Dieser Titel hat mich als Buchliebhaberin magisch angezogen. Ich habe mich schnell gefragt, was sich für eine Story dahinter versteckt. Definitiv ist dieses Buch ein New York Times Bestseller Nummer 1. Emily Henry hat einen wirklich tollen Schreibstil. Ich wurde sehr flüssig und schlüssig durchs Geschehen geführt. Für mich eine Lovestory, die genau die richtige Tiefe hatte. Ich hab mich durchweg unterhalten gefühlt. Der Humor kam nicht zu kurz und der Kleinstadt-Flair wurde perfekt rüber gebracht. Sicher wurden hier auch einige Klischees bedient, doch absolut ansprechend, wie ich finde. Definitiv ein Liebesroman mit charmanten Charakteren. Nora ist eine New Yorker Literaturagentin. Sie ist eine absolut toughe, straighte und zielorientierte Frau. Auch wenn man meint sie ist sehr gefühlskalt, merkte ich schnell beim lesen,dass sie einfach alles für ihre Schwester tut. Sogar einen Sommer in einer Kleinstadt verbringen! Sunshine Falls ist ein Örtchen mit wirklich skurrilen Bewohnern. Hier habe ich desöfteren herzlich gelacht. Stadtmensch trifft auf Kleinstadtleben. Plötzlich lernt man das Leben ganz anders kennen und hinterfragt plötzlich Sachen, die immer selbstverständlich waren. Womit Nora gar nicht gerechnet hat, ist den New Yorker Lektor Charlie Lastra in Sunshine Falls zu begegnen. Ihre Meinung über ihn ist schnell ersichtlich. Doch Nora muss gerade erkennen, das einiges im Leben nicht so scheint, wie auf den ersten Blick gedacht. Ich habe mich wirklich gern in der Handlung verloren und ich habe mich selbst durch das Buch in einigen Situationen hinterfragt. Oft urteilt man nach dem ersten Eindruck und dies ist richtig dumm. Definitiv werde ich weitere Bücher der Autorin lesen.

Diese Gefühlsachterbahn und die Wandlung der Charaktere in der Buch sind einzigartig! Man konnte das Buch kaum weglegen. Es war nicht die klassische Liebesgeschichte und genau das will man auch garnicht. Es ist witzig, hat Dialoge, wo man sich denkt genauso sollten sie sein. Die Charaktere sind relaistisch und es wird nicht over top geliefert. Ich würde dieses Buch einfach jedem empfehlen!

I really liked the book in general. Especially the middle part and the ending. It was very wholesome and made me smile at the wall… but i just gave 3 stars because the beginning and some other parts were kind of boring. I wouldn’t criticise them cause they were necessary for the plot and stuff but this made me put the book away and start others.

Short review is: amazing. Her best one yet by FAR. Now, why isn’t this 5 stars then? Simple reasons. I’m petty and Emily recommended a Colleen Hoover book at the end as the mc‘s must read list (?!?!?? Hell nah not under MY understanding of these two) and also the pacing at the end felt a bit lackluster and the ending too rushed. Otherwise? No notes, wonderful book. The first time I don’t finish a romance book with a long list of grievances. And actually the first time, where I like both the female and male mc. Hallelujah. Also, I fear why I liked this so much is because it’s somewhat a corporate life setting. Sucker for those!!

How does this woman do it again and again?? My gosh her writing and storytelling is just gorgeous. I LOVED this story and not just because I loved Nora and Charlie and their dynamic but also because Emily Henry once again put so much heart and depth into this book. Her books are never "just" romance novels (although obviously that would be great too) but SO much more. These stories make you feel everything and sometimes even all at the same time. The perfect "enemies" to lovers story, amazing banter, tension and progression of their relationship. They were sooo cute together, I was rooting for them with my whole heart. And I fell in love with their families too, even though their storylines broke my heart at times. And the amazing and cozy small town vibes were just the cherry on top. I feel like I‘m not even making sense rn because I just can‘t fully put into words how much I LOVED this book. I think by now it’s safe to say that Emily Henry is my favourite author!🥹
