I enjoyed the fast pace of this book. Everything that happened was so unpredictable and that is very rare in a novel these days. I also now have a better knowledge of renaissance art then I did before reading A&D which is a plus. However, I do believe that there are better Dan Brown novels out there.
My second Dan Brown book and my last one. Not my kind of reading. I liked the movie more. And even I read it there nothing really left. Robert Langdon was called while he was sleeping, there was an emergency somewhere. A dead man, more dead guys, church, drama, a beautiful and interesting woman. The woman just long someone special. The pope died before. And a jumping from a flying helicopter. Okay, I tried it. Have it since years in my shelf. Not the worst read but not mine. Sorry.
Im Not Sure, I really Like it the First half but Then Well what The only poc were a camera Woman who got talked down to by a Rookie News Guy and a murderer/almost-rapist..... Spoiler Victoria lost her dad, got almost Killed, knocked Out almost raped and then she Just jumps Landon.... Landon got almost crushed, Shot, drowned, knocked Out, Fell from the Sky and then drowned almost again.... The plottwists Well I think at 2/3 that I suspect the CERN Guy, and the bretrayl from the guard came Out of nowhere And Then Just everybody dies...nice
Sehr spannend und man merkt ,dass sehr viel recherchiert wurde.Auch sehr interessant aber Punktabzug aufgrund von manchen logikfehlern meiner Meinung nach kann aber auch sein ,dass es an meinem Verständnis lag♡
(edited #1) Isn't anyone bothered than in the description Vatican City is listed as a city within Italy while Vatican City is the capital of Vatican City, an own country? Just saying) That moment when you want to give a book 5 stars but the ending completely ruins it. 🙈
Ein so komplexes buch zu schreiben, welches trotz allem die spannung nicht verliert ist eine Aufgabe, die Dan Brown gemeistert hat! Ich bin echt überwältigt!
Ok, of course it is fiction, and most of the historical facts are twisted and turned by the author to fit his vision of a gripping thriller novel, but who cares? This book is entertainment, nothing more, nothing less. And it's GREAT entertainment!!! This is an absolute recommendation for everybody who likes good thrillers with a little touch of mystery.
ch habe bereits den zweiten und dritten Teil dieser Reihe gelesen und war sehr neugierig auf diesen Auftakt und mir hat dieser Band wieder sehr gut gefallen. Robert Langdon, Vittoria und Co. waren sehr schön gestaltete Charaktere, die nicht nur facettenreich gestaltet waren, sondern auch sehr authentisch dargestellt waren. Die Handlung war spannend von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite. Ich habe das Buch in zwei Tagen gelesen und es war einfach nur grandios. Ich wollte unbedingt wissen, was hinter den Illuminati steckte und ob Langdon den Wettlauf gegen die Zeit bestreiten und gewinnen kann. Dan Brown spielt nicht nur teils mit unseren Emotionen, sondern kann uns zusammen mit den Charakteren auf eine falsche Fährte führen, die letztendlich in einem genialen Finale mündete. Ich war sehr überrascht, aber es hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Die Atmosphäre und das Setting waren sehr gut gewählt und haben der spannenden Handlung keinen Abbruch getan. Auch die Perspektivwechsel waren gut gestaltet. Insgesamt hat mir die Geschichte sehr gut gefallen, ganz besonders die Charaktere, die spannende Handlung und das Ende haben mich sehr mitgenommen und es hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Ich kann das Buch nur empfehlen!
