i don’t know why but the beginning didn’t catch me really but after a while it got better and better. my heart is broken (maybe i cried ok) but i‘m also happy but mostly just heartbroken. i love that branda and jorge were more important in the book, love both of them! have to say don’t really remember the third movie but i think the book was way better and the story made so much more sense and was way more complex i really liked that. but… i loved the letter from newt in the movies it was heart wrenching and i kinda missed it in the book (the ending and the epilogue was still good tho)

i wasn't sure if i should rate this book with four or three stars. I gave four to the second book, wich was better on my opinion, but i think it was still better than to rate it with only 3 stars. A LOT of things happened during this book. Newt's story broke my fangirlish heart. And i think there was too much action during those 321 pages. Like: LET ME BREATHE. I think Newt's death was by far the most emotional scene for me, in all 3 books. Teresas Death.. what was that? To me it just seemed, like Dashner didn't know how to end this whole relationship between Thomas and her. So why don't simply let her die? I mean he still has Brenda or not?. Yeah.. that was some kind of an sudden end. Also the way Teresa was acting in this book made no sense to me. So she choose to write 'wicked is good' on her arm. But all of sudden she's totally fighting them. What made her change her mind that rapidly? Okay She realised that wicked would also get themselves new immunes to get on with their experiments. But why didn't she knew that before she wrote that fine little sentance on her arm.. The ending wasn't quite satisfying, like where did they went? I was hoping Thomas would tell Minho what happened to Newt at last. Hmm. Still liked this series a lot. Can't wait for the movie :)

Not sure what to think of this. It was a good end to the story, explained all the major questions and so on. But I guess I'm just not a fan of Dashners writing. Thomas is still super annoying with his perfect hunches. I would've enjoyed him being wrong even once. But this also had a few good parts, I think it was an improvement from the second book in that regard. And I kind of liked that at the end they still sort of did what WICKED wanted. I liked that they were being kept in the dark about it and Jorge and Brenda did a perfect undercover job themselves. In the end, I'm having issues with this trilogy and generally the way the story was told. But I can't quite express them. I was just annoyed while at the same time I wanted to find out what was going on. I don't know what to make of this book series. I guess maybe this is one of those YA books that I'm too old for to fully enjoy.

The book gets 4 stars because it was exciting but compared to The Scorch Trials I feel like something was missing. The characters were good as always, Thomas didn't fell asleep or got kicked in the head that often - so this is a huge plus as well. I loved how the end scenes just rounded up the series, going back and all. It has been a nice series and I'm glad I got to read them books (before the movie The Maze Runner came out). :)
