And the Oscar to the "inflationary used word" goes to "goddy"! Apart from that: the map get so much bigger! We finally get a brief glance at the Colonies. It's so action packed, I had to put it down at times just to process what was happening to June and Day, since they follow different paths in this sequel. Anden is brilliant (rooting for you bud!). Eventhough Tess annoyed me to no end, she was the only character acting her age. Initially I planned to pick up the last book in 2-3 months but this damn ending is a crime against my patience. Ending this trilogy in a couple of weeks!

Finally! I was getting annoyed at myself because it took me so long - a month! - to finish it, that's just ridiculous. Especially because I enjoyed it, I just couldn't bring myself to read it. Now I'm sitting here and don't really know what to say. Can't my review just contain 3 words? I liked it. That's it, no need to say more. Okay, no. I'm kidding, let's just start with something easy ... June Iparis! She was probably my favorite part of the book. I can't even believe she's only fifteen years old. For her age, she seems so mature and has already gone through a lot. What I loved about her is that she always uses her mind! She's clever and has lots of great ideas but she's also brave and spontaneous. I loved that, thanks to her, we were able to read more about Metias and finally got a little more information about his death and who and why he killed her brother. Her dreams about him were also amazing and I enjoyed ever chapter with June so, so much. She's such an awesome character! Daniel Altan Wing, or short: Day. He's actually a really cool character too, but especially in Prodigy he annoyed me. Not always and I can't even say why or when but there were moments/scenes where I just wanted to punch him. Hard. But overall, I have to say that I like him a lot. He's witty, cheeky, brave and passionate. He's also not afraid to show emotions and to fight for the ones he loves. And just a side-note: I would be really pissed if he dies. Just sayin'. The story was thrilling and felt a little like a movie with all the action and tension. It's fast-paced and there's lots of stuff happening, plot twists and some emotions. Actually it has everything a good book needs. The side characters are great too - I loved Kaede in the first book and in the second even more! Tess frustrated and annoyed me but I enjoyed her scenes with Day ... and Aden, well, that's a tricky situation. He was something I looked forward to in every June-chapter! I wanted to know more about him and the government and all that and I really hope we'll get all the answers in the last book! So far, I liked him a lot but I sense some drama and a love triangle? I don't know. Like in "Legend" I probably expected a little too much. It could have gripped me more and there could have been more emotions but it's definitely a good book and the ending is just cruel. Really cruel. So I don't really know what to say. I had hopes that this one would be better than Legend, but in some areas it actually was worse. I did like the ending and some of the twists were really good and still kinda surprising, even with me having read this before. But wow. The romance was just so all over the place. I did like the way Day and June were in the end of the book, but throughout most of it their relationship felt half-assed and childish, with romantic rivals thrown in just to make up some drama. Also just a side note on June and Anden and the reason I legit almost gave this book only 2 stars: Anden is 20. This grown-up dude is obsessed with a 15 year-old GIRL. That really rubbed me such a wrong way, especially with him wanting her to train for a position that might result into her becoming the MOTHER OF HIS CHILDREN. All of that when she is only a child herself. Just ew. Apparently this wasn't something I cared about when I was 19 but I do now and I just couldn't stand for this. Most of this book really felt weird and while Legend kept me connected most of the time, I felt bored and lost reading most of this book. It is actually more of a 2 star read, had I read it for the first time right now, but with my nostalgia around it and how the plot actually shows some uniqueness, I decided to leave it with three. Now I'm kinda anxious about Champion but also super chill about Rebel cause I don't think anything can let me down after already experiencing this disappointment.

Kurz und knapp gesagt: Band 2 war für mich deutlich schwächer als Band 1. Ich weiß, dass sehr sehr viele die Legend Reihe mögen und auch Band 1 hat ziemlich vielversprechend angefangen, jedoch wird die Reihe niemals zu meinen Favoriten gehören. Damit möchte ich nicht sagen, dass es sich hierbei um schlechte Bücher handelt. Der Schreibstil der Autorin ist wirklich sehr angenehm zu lesen und auch überhaupt nicht zu trocken. Auch die Idee der Dystopie gefällt mir weiterhin. Positiv am zweiten Band war zum Beispiel, dass man als Leser mehr über die Hintergründe erfahren hat, weshalb man sich besser in die Geschichte einfindet. Ich fand es interessant, über die Probleme der Kolonien und der Republik zu lesen und bin immer noch begeistert von der Idee, eine Dystopie über eine getrennte USA zu schreiben. In Band 2 werden zudem wichtige Themen wie beispielsweise der Klimawandel angesprochen. Außerdem gab es einige Überraschungen innerhalb der Handlung, mit denen ich nicht gerechnet hätte. Ein weiterer positiver Aspekt sind die ganzen Nebencharaktere, die nun auch endlich mal näher vorgestellt werden. So erfährt man mehr über Kaede, Tess aber auch Thomas. Doch nun muss ich in diesem Bezug auch mal die negativen Dinge aufzählen, die mir während des Lesens aufgefallen sind. Ich hatte plötzlich ein ganz anderes Bild von den meisten Charakteren, was sowohl gut als auch schlecht verstanden werden kann. In diesem Fall jedoch eher negativ, da mir aufgefallen ist, dass die Charaktere schon in dem Band zuvor einfach nicht gut genug beschrieben wurden. Ich hatte mir Tess immer als kleines Mädchen vorgestellt und entweder, ich habe mich in ihrem Alter vertan oder sie verhält sich einfach nicht ihrem Alter entsprechend. Apropos dem Alter entsprechend verhalten. Ich verstehe ja, dass es sich um eine Dystopie handelt und June schon lange trainiert. Jedoch fand ich ihr Verhalten und die Dinge, die von ihr verlangt wurden an manchen Stellen dann doch etwas zu übertrieben. Wenn wir schon mal von June sprechen. Ich hatte auch schon im ersten Band meine Probleme mit ihr, doch nun merke ich einfach, dass ich sie einfach nicht sympathisch finde und es wahrscheinlich auch so bleiben wird. Ich war irgendwann von ihren Stimmungsschwankungen genervt und auch von ihrem ständigen Selbstmitleid. Auch ihre Beziehung zu Day werde ich vermutlich niemals verstehen können. Kann sein, dass viele anderer Meinung sind, aber die beiden passen einfach nicht zusammen. Fazit Der Schreibstil war wie auch zuvor okay, angenehm und leicht zu lesen,. Auch die Handlung war in Ordnung, konnte mich aber nicht so ganz überzeugen. Am meisten jedoch stört mich die Protagonistin und ihre Beziehung zu Day, die für mich einfach nicht glaubhaft ist.Zudem hatte das Buch einige Längen, die den Lesefluss unterbrochen haben. Wahrscheinlich werde ich den dritten Band der Vollständigkeit halber und da ich mich für die Handlung interessiere noch lesen und die Reihe dann beenden. Leider mit 3 Sternen nur im Mittelfeld.

Ich fand das Buch nicht schlecht, aber der erste Teil hat mir viel besser gefallen. Vielleicht ist das so ein 2. Teil, der einfach schlechter war, bevor der dritte dann wieder richtig gut wird. Ich bin jedenfalls gespannt und freue mich auf den dritten Teil. An dem Buch hat mich gestört, dass irgendwie nicht sehr viel passiert ist, bzw. könnte ich jetzt nicht alleine erklären, was ich da gelesen habe und was der Punkt des Buches war. Auch die Beziehung zwischen June und Day wirkt sehr unharmonisch und ich frage mich, wieso man versucht sich zu lieben, wenn man eigentlich gar nicht so gut miteinander auskommt und so verschieden ist...?
