Venal, rambling, self congratulating, clever, snide... I really enjoyed this. Seneca was clearly a bit of a d-bag by modern standards but he’s quite charming in a way. Full of the same business-school wisdom that’s plaguing the best-seller lists today showing there is nothing new under the sun. And a bunch of stuff about why philosophers are the only people who are using their time well, actually. An interesting read from a meta-textual point of view.
