Like Georgia had some trouble figuring out what her and pony had I had the same while figuring out my thoughts about this book. First of all I loved the writing style it was very easy and fast paced and I read everything past the first half in one sitting. I have to say that I really liked most of the characters, like max and Georgia which you could maybe say were a bit cliche but that’s okay because in my case it help to see more from there life etc. I love pony he’s an amazing character and at least in my opinion isn’t wrong about as many things as he feels he is. Georgia however well were do I start I like her, if however not as much as pony. In some moments I liked her and she was really relatable but in some others I just felt like she was wrong about some things. I get that she maybe didn’t knew much about trans people and queer people in general but yeah some of the stuff like telling pony he ,,lied” to her for not telling her he is trans immediately after meeting her was completely fine. I can understand her but at the same time I can’t. But to come to the point I liked the book in the end I liked all of it but I have to say the end was what I would wish for every queer person coming out which sadly isn’t the reality but hopefully will be some day. It was supporting and happy and makes me wish that this was all an everyday scenario (the good part). 4 stars because I loved it but had some minimal problems Definitely recommend! 😊

"Simplemente tenemos que amar más fuerte y más fuerte de lo que ellos pueden odiar". Este libro trata sobre Poni (Si, Poni, yo también pensé que había leído mal pero no, se llama Poni) un chico trans que al cambiarse de escuela se enamora de una de las porritas. Ahora este libro tiene cosas muy buenas, me resultó súper adictivo, lo hubiera leído en una noche si no necesitará dormir pero tristemente necesito dormir, y bueno aunque a veces tienes que parar a respirar profundo por alguna estupidez que hacen los personajes (te hablo a ti Max) al final continuas leyendo porque quieras o no, deseas terminarlo. El papá de Georgia es genial, Rocky es un personaje divertido, Taylor y el actor moribundo bien podrían ser los únicos personajes más reales del libro, y a la chica de las cartas de tarot. Pero bueno este libro tiene varias cosas que deberías tomar en cuenta antes de decidir leerlo, número uno le falta una enorme lista de Advertencias, y aunque muchos piensan que no son necesarias yo siento que si, aquí te las dejo. ADVERTENCIAS -transfobia - transfobia internalizada - homofobia - uso de insultos y otras bromas pesadas - menciones al dead name del personaje principal -uso de pronombres incorrectos - mención de suicidio/pensamientos suicidas - presión para salir del armario/salir del armario forzado - descripción extensa de un crimen de odio violento -Un "mejor amigo" que te hará querer sacarlo del libro solo para darle una bofetada. Ahora mi problema con los personajes. En pocos lugares tenemos a Kelly, Georgia y Laurent, aunque yo entiendo que la secundaria es un lugar horrible y que realmente haces todo por encajar, no entiendo cómo dejas que una persona te pisotee de esa forma, creo que de cierta forma debíamos sentir empatía por ellas y yo realmente no lo hice, lo que me lleva Georgia. Entiendo que se llevará una enorme sorpresa al saber que el chico que le gusta no tiene pen* pero, ¿Rechazarlo por tu imagen? ¿Comparar el ocultar que es trans con tu ex novio infiel? El nunca te mintió cariño, él es un chico en todo lo que importa y más, y aunque necesitabas tiempo para procesarlo nada justifica la forma tan horrible en la que lo trataste y esperabas que con un artículo en un periódico escolar todo se arreglará. Ahora mi problema más grande en este libros son MAX y Mia, siento que serían perfectos el uno para el otro, los dos son manipuladores, controladores, uno obliga a sus amigos a salir del closet y la otra obliga a sus amigas a cumplir sus órdenes. Son extremadamente malos amigos, lo único que hice todo el libro fue pensar Poni por Dios busca otros amigos (Después encontró dos pero tampoco mejoro mucho). Fue mejor amigo el actor moribundo que ellos dos. En fin, fue una buena lectura rápida pero creo que no volvería a leerlo.

tw // transphobia, deadnaming, bullying, physical violence From the book's marketing I wrongly assumed that this book would be more like a rom-com type story, but the readers should be aware that it isn't. Whilst ir does have some cute High-School type moments, there is a lot of heavy stuff there too, so definitely be mindful of trigger warnings!! However, I have to say that I especially enjoyed the writing style; the way in which the story is told really carries the plot in this book. The other important thing were the characters, and whilste one character really annoyed me with her thoughts and actions, I really enjoyed Pony's POV. The diversity of different people from the LGBTQ+ community was also well done imho.
