This was ok. I don't want to be rude and give it 2 stars but it isn't good actually. It was very meh. Brett and Becca were very simple characters. The story was kinda uncreative and the plot she had wasn't executed to its full potential. I enjoyed some parts and it wasn't unpleasant to read. I just didn't like the fact that the same thing kind of happened to them and was more focused on their families than them, which is my fault or the marketing teams. I expected a love story and it was one, but it was weak compared to the rest of the storyline. The ending was cute and all but some parts were so random. I also hated it whenever she tried to sound poetic and quote-worthy cause those paragraphs were very cringey to read.

Such a cute book! I loved the story and I also loved how the author shows life situations but in different outcomes. Like how two people can be in the same boat but handle things differently especially the choices you make. I loved the fact that Brett was willing to start things over with his dad but only because he did it for his mom. And I was glad that Becca didn’t take her father back into her life but ended it with forgiving him so she could move forward. A really good book!

Das Buch war sehr realistisch und es hat mir gut gefallen, dass es nicht die ganze Zeit darum ging wie glücklich alle sind, sondern wie schwer es manchmal sein kann und dass es nicht immer einfach ist zu lieben. Die Beziehung zwischen Brett und Becca fing vorgetäuscht an und wurde später auch noch ernst, wobei dass meiner Meinung nach etwas schnell ging. In den meisten Büchern ist es immer so dass die beiden Charaktere in süße Situationen geraten und dann Stück für Stück kommen sie sich immer näher. Bei diesem Buch ging das etwas schneller. Trotzdem hat mir die Geschichte sehr gefallen, da es darum ging das Becca auch die ganze Zeit darüber geredet hat dass nichts im echten Leben so ist wie in einem Romance Buch. Die Beziehung zwischen Brett und Becca finde ich total schön. (Ich bin vielleicht etwas neidisch) Die Kapitel aus beiden Sichten haben mir gut gefallen genau wie das Ende. Ich empfehle das Buch auf jeden Fall weiter.

Als sie etwas aufgezogen wird, dafür dass sie keinen boyfriend hat, sagt sie einfach „i have a boyfriend“ und bevor sie einen Namen sagen kann, wer ihr angeblicher Freund ist, kommt BRETT und KÜSST SIE !!!! 🙊 Für ihn kommt die „Fake Beziehung“ gerade richtig. Because he has a little bit family issues. the quotes in this book… I feel addressed so often.📚💕🥰 Brett >>>> Becca >>>> Love this BOOK!!!!

Fake Dating gehört zu meine Lieblingstropes und auch wenn die Geschichten oft gleich Verlaufen im Prinzip, kann ich davon nicht genug bekommen. In „The Upside Of Falling“ von Alex Light trifft introvertierter Bücherwurm auf beliebten Football Captain.Becca ist 17 Jahre und seit der desaströsen Scheidung ihrer Eltern, glaubt sie nicht mehr an die wahre Liebe, stattdessen liest sie lieber in ihren Büchern über die Liebe. Denn Bücher enden oft nach dem Happy End. Im wahren Leben beendet irgendwer früher oder später die Beziehung und der andere wird verletzt. Becca wird von ihrer früheren besten Freundin aufgezogen. Diese behauptet, dass Becca nicht weiß, was wahre Liebe ist, sondern nur aus ihren Büchern kennt. Daraufhin gibt Becca vor einen Freund zu haben.Brett Wells ist Captain der Football-Mannschaft und zu jedermann freundlich. Ihr Umgang mit Brett ist sehr locker und wirkt nicht gezwungen, vor allem nachdem sie entdecken, dass sie doch mehr miteinander gemein haben. Zwar gibt es hier und da Konflikte, aber Alex Light verzichtet in „The Upside Of Falling“ auf unnötiges Drama.„The Upside Of Falling“ von Alex Light ist ideal für Fans von Fake Dating Geschichten ála To All The Boys I’ve loved Before.

Ok wow die Story war echt einfach durchzulesen und unfassbar schön geschrieben und einfach wirklich echt toll und wow. Also wirklich empfehlenswert für alle, die mal so englische Bücher lesen wollen mit einer schönen cuten Lovestory. Es geht um Bookworm and Popular Boy. Ok also das erklährt alles😉🥰

I love this. I love Brett and I love Becca and i absolutely love them together. This book took me almost 2 weeks to read but thats only because i read this book when i wanted to escape from the thrillers and fantasy books that ive spent these last few weeks reading. This book was MY comfort for those weeks and i did not want it to end at all. Even though, this book isnt, writing-wise, the best book ever written and you can definitely tell that this once started out as a wattpad story ( dont get me wrong there were some amazing quotes in here), the story was so amazing and easy to read whenever i opened this book on my ipad i was completely absorbed into the story and whenever i read Becca and Bretts scenes i felt like i was being wrapped in a blanket made out of cotton candy. Brett is, for once, such an unproblematic and so adorable love interest i literally love him so much and i need to read everything this author writes from now on. „I looked back at the family and realized not everything had to be conventional. Life didn’t have to fit into a four-sided box that was neat and tidy. It was okay if the box had three sides or the fourth one was hanging on with duct tape. It was okay if the corners were dented and if there was a big red FRAGILE sticker on top. It was all okay.“ „Brett was watching me as if I were the sun his world revolved around, and I couldn’t quite fathom how I’d ended up here. How, on a planet with billions of people whose lives would never cross, I managed to capture the heart of the most beautiful one.“ „It feels like the world is going to explode when I kiss you,” I whispered. “Then let it explode,” she said.“ „Read to me.” “Why?” “Because you go somewhere else when you read. I want to go there with you.” We sat there and I read aloud, my back to Brett’s chest. He pulled me a little closer, held me a little tighter. And this time, we escaped together.“

Life didn’t have to fit into a four-sided box that was neat and tidy. It was okay if the box had three sides or the fourth one was hanging on with duct tape. It was okay if the corners were dented and if there was a big red FRAGILE sticker on top. Going into it, I thought that this book might turn out okay. By the 60% mark, I threw these thoughts overboard and started to hate it. The main character is overly dramatic and dumps all of her books into a river after her love interest tells her that he needs space. First of all, um, hello? Pollution?! Secondly, this scene stretched on for WAY too many pages. Towards the end, she visits her father’s house (her parents got divorced) and has a dramatic monologue in front of him, telling him that she forgives him When Brett takes her to a bookshop, she acts as if he just pulled down the stars for her: “I threw my arms around him and pressed my face to his chest. ‘I love it, Brett. Thank you.’” On top of it all, Brett’s family drama annoyed me, Becca’s family had enough drama of her own. And when he told Becca that “In this whole mess, you’re the only constant,” I just rolled me eyes. How long have they really known each other? A maximum of two weeks? I think I'm getting too old for these books... or it was just the bad writing and the boring plot. There was nothing outstanding or memorable in this book and I’m pretty sure I will forget about it quickly. I couldn’t even remember the characters’ names for this review, I had to look it up again.

* August reread * Ich kann es nicht oft genug betonen, aber dieses Buch ist mein absoluter Favorit. Selbst nach einem Jahr hat sich nichts an meiner Meinung geändert. Becca & Bretts Story ist nicht nur cute & voller Herzerwärmender Momente, sondern auch tiefgehend & sehr relatable für alle hopeless romantic reader! Für mich ist dieses Buch einfach Lover von Taylor Swift (- also wer Lust auf so ein Buch hat... go for it and read it! It'll be worth it!) * Natürlich ist das nur meine Meinung, aber ich kann das Buch zu 100% empfehlen. Es verdient definitiv mehr Aufmerksamkeit!

I loved it sm omg It‘s a fake dating in Highschool young adult books so theres literally no spice at all but the romance and all the quotes were just 10/10 ALSO SHE‘S A BOOKIE okay???? she‘s literally obsessed with books and the way she talks abt the fictional life and all the fictional characters while LITERALLY BEING ONE is just immaculate. Family Issues/ Drama and how they deal with it is heavy involved. I love Becca sm bc I honestly feel like she‘s me in every aspect

Presiento que cuando tenía trece años, este pudo haber sido un libro que hubiese disfrutado y guardado en mi biblioteca de ‘Wattpad’, debido a que la trama del mismo da todas las vibes de las cosas que leía cuando me la pasaba en ese sitio. ¿Pero leer esto en la actualidad? Debo decir que es un ‘no’ rotundo para mi. Hubo varios factores que me hacían bajarle las estrellas conforme iba leyendo; sin embargo creo que la razón principal de por qué no me gustó fue porque se me hizo muy obvio. No me causó ninguna emoción, no me provocó alguna reacción incomparable, no me causó nada. Desde el principio del libro ya deducía lo que iba a pasar y aunque amo el “fake dating” este simplemente no me dio lo esperado, no cumplió las expectativas altas que tengo establecidas en este trope. Además no se me olvida que la protagonista en algún punto de la historia tiró muchos libros a un lago.. ¿Por qué, Becca? ¿Por qué? Hay libros para todos los gustos y este no fue precisamente de mi agrado, aunque eso no evita que ciertas frases si me gustaron muchísimo, en especial esas acerca del vínculo que crearon los protagonistas, Becca y Brett al leer. Porque sí, el hecho de que ellos sean de esas parejas que se "leen" es algo tan especial que en lo personal me encanta. Sin embargo, no es una lectura que leería de nuevo. — 2,35 estrellas.

2.5 ★ The one thing that I really liked was Brett's personality. After reading all of these romance books where the guy is just mean as hell to everyone and the girl included, I forgot how good it was to read a story where the male love interest is genuinely nice?! It was so pleasant and enjoyable to go through the story knowing that the guy isn't going to have any sort illogical outburst against the girl. However, Brett was far from perfect of course. The way he handled the situation with his father was so funny because what on earth is a 17 year old boy (child) gonna do?? Beat his dad? You're not an intimidating guy with big muscles yet, hun. Also, the way he idolized his dad was really childish and icky. Just because his father missed one game out of like a hundred he’s gonna act like a five year old child, who just got told that they can’t have candy? Ew. Brett and Becca's obsession with their family situation was a bit weird. The whole focus of the book was on their family issues, even though the synopsis gives the impression of a normal fake-dating romance, which I was really looking forward to btw. :( So yeah, not the best book I’ve read. ^^

Es war eine süße kleine Romanze zwischen zwei Teenagern die in ihren jungen Alter schon zu viel erleben mussten. Es gab viele Themen die nicht allzu häufig angesprochen werden und gut beschrieben werden. Ich mochte die Charakter sehr und das Buch hätte auch von mir aus einen zweiten Teil bekommen können☁️
