This was a 4.5 star read for me. A friend told me that reading this book for her felt like GU was using her blackness and anger to rant at things and the way her life went and is. I fully disagree with her statement even though I respect her opinion. Personally for me, I found it really interesting and we'll written. She was definitely engaging and honest about her experiences. I didn't like the vulgarity in the book and to be honest if she had left it out it would have been better.
