I honestly knew that I was going to like this book, but it still surprised me how good it was! I am normally not the biggest fan of fast burns, but Caleb and Jesse really convinced me otherwise. I’m a sucker for mates, so of course I was going to be obsessed with them! I loved the shapeshifter aspect of this book, and I honestly really liked the storyline as well. From beginning to end, it never got boring, and I absolutely loved the dynamic between Caleb and Jesse. I love a good brat-and-brat-tamer situation with a great dose of humor. And most importantly, I absolutely adored their relationship. As I said, I don’t really like it when relationships between characters develop so quickly, but the love these two have for each other is so beautiful that I never once doubted their feelings for one another. The tension and chemistry were off the charts, and the smut was amazing — be warned though, because this book is really hot! 🥵 The suspense at the end was surprisingly good, but the ending itself was a bit underwhelming. I honestly thought this book was a standalone (or an interconnected standalone), but it looks like we’re getting a second book. I might want to check that one out as well 🫣
