This surprised me. I didn’t read the description of the book. Partly on purposes to go in unknowing. Partly because sometimes that made me put a book away that I ended up loving when I picked it back up at some point. I love the story!! It reminds me a bit of the Shadowhunters from Cassandra Clare. I enjoyed a strong female protagonist that is kind of the underdog and lives a hidden live. Love the storyline around her trying to find the murderer of her dad. Of course the academia setting that ends up opening is helping me love it. I’m always in for a friends group that goes through the story together. It did have quite a few turns I didn’t see coming. Can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel in fall!!
