Did it have some Parts of very known Fantasy books? Yes. Did it make the book worse? Absolutely Not. I devoured the first 60% of this book. Then the pacing was a little off, which is also my only criticsm. The writing style is so captivating and the multiple POV of the characters is so nice. The writer just as a way with words. Also there are so many different characters, that also make you go through multiple emotions. In certain point of views i sat here laughing, in others with goosebumps and again in others with a Shock on my Face. Canβt wait for the second book.

I love how openly and honestly itβs told β that she is the shadow and he is the fire. Their dynamic is gripping, full of tension and emotion, and it was a real highlight to follow their journey together. The book truly thrilled me from the first to the last page. I especially appreciated that the story doesnβt just follow Mal and Ash, but also gives us deeper insight into Malβs siblings, Haven, Kage, and Kai, as well as Ashβs sister Alina. Their individual stories blend beautifully into the larger whole. Alinaβs inner conflict between her loyalty to her family and her desire for freedom felt tangible, realistic, and really moved me. The different plot threads are artfully interwoven and come together in a thrilling resolution. Despite the complex world and deep structures, I never felt overwhelmed, quite the opposite: every page pulled me further into the story. The writing style is simply fantastic. Itβs atmospheric, emotional, and yet clear. And best of all: there wasnβt a single character I didnβt grow to love. A profound, vibrant world has been created here that completely drew me in. Iβm incredibly excited for the second part of Kingdom of Gods and canβt wait to dive deeper into this world. Definitely one of my highlights of the year!
