Right before Christmas Marshall Crowe comes to Hastings Rock to read from his latest thriller. The friend of Dash's parents dies before he can read an excerpt but after managing to loudly argue with several people. One of them is Pippi who, even after accusing Dash of murdering Vivienne in book 1, expects him to save her from being considered a very possible murderer. Part 4 of the series was slightly frustrating with a slow start, obnoxious Last Picks, and a very infuriating distance between Bobby and Dash. And an even more maddening last sentence. But the story and the relationship did come around in the later part of the book.
