It wasn't that bad but it really wasn't great. This book is a short, smuty (I do want to say though, a lot of the reviews are complaining about the "weird alien s*x" and tbh, this book isn't even close to what I would call "weird alien s*x" so make of that what you will), fastpaced story. But not a lot happens and the stuff that does happen is kind of boring... In a post-apocalyptic world (where it is not explained really how the world came to be like this in only one generation...), Jade is one of the very few women who still live free along with her 3 friends. When one of her friends becomes ill, she needs to risk her safety to go into town and find some medicine (without any weapon, money, thing to barter with, protection). Then we have Vuka, the King of an alien civilisation who used to be the greatest of all the Universe before a virus killed 95% of the population. He is now seeking his mate on another planet, Earth. He tells his like 7 brother but none come with him. And when he get to earth, he stumbles upon Jade who is being assaulted by human males, and basically saves her. Some of the way the world is built doesn't really make sense. Like why would Vuka come here alone? At least one of his brothers should come too, I mean, they want Neras too, right? And the whole, fated mates isn't clear either, in the way the story is told. You don't really have anything explaining how Vuka knows she's the one. I'm just confused about a lot of things and the characters weren't too appealing. Jade wasn't so bad but, pretty shallow and uselessly brave. And Vuka... yeah whatever. The end of the epilogue also totally deterred me from reading the next book.
